How the Marines DO IT!

Marines’ ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ repeal training revealed

Getting straight to the point, male-on-male kissing is the first scenario Marines are discussing at Camp Pendleton as they learn about the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and what it means for them.

Marines may also have to get used to living with an openly gay service member, recruiters could be punished for barring enlistees that talk about being gay and early discharges may not be granted for those that disagree with the repeal, according to training materials released this month by the Marine Corps.

No one can convince me that this is somehow a good thing, but it IS simply the way things are for those currently serving. Reading through the training materials didn’t offer any real surprises either.

The Rand study estimated that five percent of the military’s male population is gay and 10 percent of the female population is lesbian.

I’m certain this training will return many fold the the time and money spent on it in the form of added combat efficiency and esprit de corps… for that 5 percent, at least.

Which 5 percent might that be–the ones that dance to Britney Spears songs?

David!

I know you can still be gay, but isn’t it still punishable, I thought opposite sex relationships were barred as well.

Ben

No, opposite sex relationships aren’t prohibited. There are rules about who can date whom, as well as rules about PDA and all of that.

Supposedly, none of this will change, but…everyone knows better than that.

Ben

“Marines won’t be expected to change religious or moral beliefs and can express those feelings, according to a training script. However, derogatory statements won’t be tolerated.”

These two statements are completely at odds with each other. No amount of fudging around the edges will make them compatible.

This is such fucking bullshit. I have seen how this works out in real life. Censorship and intimidation become the rule of the day. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Given that best estimates are for 2-3% of the population being gay I think that this estimate may be trying to score some type of political point

Yeah, I’m sure Marines will be allowed to express their religious or moral beliefs, but exactly who decides that what they say may be derogatory? What’s going to happen is gays will be able to say any damn thing they want, but everyone else will have to keep their mouths shut so as not to offend them.

This is just so much effed up BS.

Ben

“What’s going to happen is gays will be able to say any damn thing they want, but everyone else will have to keep their mouths shut so as not to offend them.”

That’s how it works on college campuses. Liberals see absolutely nothing wrong with this. If you attempt to point out the obvious–that such a policy is the definition of censorship–they will yell at you and tell you that you’re a bigot. No amount of talking will persuade them that what they are doing is a violation of the constitution.

If you want to know how much freedom we would have if liberals could achieve 100% of their agenda, look to Canada. Look to the “Human Rights” tribunals that violate the human rights of their citizens in order to protect the sensitive feelings of designated victim groups.

I used to hear so-called “conservatives” talk about how the repeal of DADT was really no big deal, how we have “bigger things to worry about”. I hope they realize their mistake now.

Actions have consequences.
And the Immutable Law of Unintended Consequences is about to kick in, slowly at first, but snowballing at it goes.
First major Consequence will be that recruiting and enlistment of “straights” (and conservatives and religious and etc) will plummet like a rock.
Welcome to Atlas Shrugged.

Yeah, don’t count on it. Social liberals who describe themselves as foreign policy and/or fiscal conservatives seem to think that liberal social issues have no negative effect on anything. They don’t seem to comprehend that our fiscal issues are based on the deterioration of our social culture.

Pro-‘choice’ conservatives don’t comprehend the idea that if you teach a society that life is not sacred, soon they will agree with ‘death panels’ and lack of end-of-life care, ie Obamacare.

They also don’t comprehend that when you teach a society that sex is just for fun and doesn’t need to be saved for the sanctity of marriage, you end up with a promiscuous sex culture with the percentage of children born out of wedlock skyrocketing, single parenthood skyrocketing, teenage parenthood skyrocketing… all allowing ‘progressives’ to make the case for more and more welfare and handouts.

And they also don’t comprehend that when you give in to the demands of a radical movement seeking to destroy all cultural norms, they will continue to demand more and more and more, under the threat of demonizing your business, livelihood or organization (ie military).

But pshaw… no big deal.

Yeah, amazing isn’t it? For years we have been told that the military is anti-homosexual. That DADT prohibits homosexuals from serving (which it doesn’t). Can’t have ROTC on college campuses, because the military is anti-homosexual!

Yet, apparently, the military is one of the gayest institutions in the country! A male homosexual demographic (5%) twice the national demographic and a female homosexual demographic (10%) 5 times the national demographic.

Interesting how that works.

Hmmm, according to this, there are approximately 201,575 women in the military (sans Coast Guard). 10% of that = 20,157 homosexual females.

This number is said to be 14.6% of the military. So that means there are ~1,179,000 men in the military. 5% of that = ~59,000 homosexual males.

So apparently, ~79,000 military members are homosexual, making up 5.7% of the US military.

Again, that’s twice the national demographic best estimates. Who knew that the US military was the San Francisco of American organizations!?

It’s surprizing that the media has conveniently forgotten to mention in any of their reports the high numbs of gays and lesbians in uniform, whicle concentrating on the so-called abuse that they suffer at the hands of their straight commrades and superior officers. If the figures of these reports are correct, there is every reason to believe that the Armed Forces are some of the most homosexual-friendly places to work in America, yet all of this information is being kept from the pupulace. The big queston is, why???
