When I went to recruit training in Jan 78 many of the Drill Instructors we had were Vietnam veterans. I don’t know if we all did, but I know what those Marines did in Vietnam, and I looked at them as the post Korean War Marines did the men who fought their way through the Pacific and the Chosin Reservoir.
Given the fact that those who served in Vietnam did so in spite of an obviously incompetent government and an ignorant, self absorbed American public, their successes are all the more impressive.
