Senate blames FBI and Pentagon for Hasan

| February 3, 2011

Associated Press reports that a Senate report blames the FBI and the Pentagon for the terrorist act committed by Nidal Hasan at Fort Hood a year and a half ago;

A Senate report on the Fort Hood shooting is sharply critical of the FBI and its failure to adequately share information with the military about the alleged shooter’s extremist views.

And it says the Pentagon has failed to make necessary changes to identify violent Islamic extremism as a danger so that commanders will more readily watch for it and discharge service members who express those views.

But the report, which was being released Thursday, said the Defense Department did not inform or train commanders about how to recognize someone radicalized to Islamic extremism or how to distinguish that from the peaceful practice of Islam.

Yeah, I blame the FBI for not telling the Army about Hasan’s associations with Islamic extremists, however, I’m pretty sure if the Army had tried to do something about Hasan, like booting him from the Army, some member of Congress would have been crawling up the Army’s ass with a microscope and charging them with being bigots or something.

The problem is that the US government is afraid of calling a spade a spade and that translates into bad personnel management decisions. Yeah, it’s easy to point at the FBI in retrospect, but the problem is that the whole culture needs to change. People who have the potential to do evil must be named as such without the fingerpointers, whether it’s the FBI, the Army or the EPA, having their motives questioned.

The US culture is such that treason and plotting to do harm with extremists isn’t considered criminal…or even suspect.

Exactly right, Jonn.

Yeah, you hit it.

Obviously, someone should have said something about his behavior. But everyone knows that hindsight is 20/20. Anyone who had blown the whistle BEFORE the fact would have had to faces charges of Islamophobia.

And that’s what’s got to end. We have to be free to talk about the problem of Islamic extremism, and we have to be able to find and identify the Islamic extremists in our society. But liberals don’t want that. They want to shut down the conversation as quickly as possible, to continue whistling past the graveyard.

DON’T TALK ABOUT IT!

The good, old “Stovepipe” effect. Keeping information inside your agency to give you leverage over other agencies. I could’ve sworn that the DHS was supposed to help alleviate that. Instead, they spend millions posting warnings according to the Rainbow Brite Terror Alert Level and then scrap it a few years later for an alert system that pretty much says, “Oops. Something is happening.”

This be the standard ‘bad boy, naughty boy’ wrist slap that absolves our Senators of their personal responsibility in this matter.

Most folks know and realize that had Hasan’s chain of command done the right thing, CAIR and a host of Islamofascist American groups and their Senate sympathizers would have crucified them in the courts and our Army would gladly have been the one to pound in the nails, ‘cuz they’re multicultural and tolerant like that.

Sometimes, the bad guy wins.

The story of this report is all over the place today with the same misleading headline. They use the word missed instead of ignored in referring to the warning signs. There is a huge distinction between seeing the signs, such as was the case with Wikileaker Bradley Manning, and ignoring them and simply missing the signs.

In the case of the psycho butcher of Ft Hood there was even more of an attempt to cover up the signs so you can hardly say they were missed.

Try that missed alibi the next time you’re pulled over for running a red light and see how much sympathy you get from the police officer.

Political correctness is destroying our military.

I am of the opinion that each blames the other

Doc Bailey

I am of the opinion the climate of political correctness is that allowed this to happen. There really wasn’t any “training” necessary to recognize he was planning to die for Allah. Common sense and talking to his peers would have done that.

I really enjoy this theme you have got going on in your internet site. What is the name of the design by the way? I was thinking of using this style for the site I am going to make for my school project.
