Matthis is bigger than life and MLK
One of my ninjas sent me a loooong conversation Matthis had with his acolytes last night, reading through it all, it all boiled down to this single post;
Yes, that makes complete (non)sense. He decides that because he is more radical than King, he’s more significant than King. Matthis drags out tired old rhetoric from Eisenhower’s final address to the nation about the military-industrial complex, and even though he compared himself to King last year at about this time, Matthis wants to disassociate himself this year;
The reason? King doesn’t measure up to Matthis’ radical ideal. And somehow, he manages to claim that we’re afraid of black mens’ penises.

If this weren’t so childish, that statement alone deserves an ass beat. and the only reason I’d be afraid of armed black men is that most gang bangers aim is so bad they could give IRAQIS lessons on spray and pray (that’s really saying something). As for dick size. . . REALLY? how many dudes you know go around measuring each others dicks to see which is larger? I don’t agree with all MLK says, but i do like his colorblind view of the future. Its almost as if he were describing a modern US army base. . .
Blockade of deploying U.S. troops?
Surely he’s not referring to that time he and four friends stood on the side of the highway outside Fort Hood and yelled through a megaphone “You’re gonna die for your country like shit” for three minutes at some buses whizzing by at 40 mph? That time when the oppressive police suggested a better location for them to protest out of concern for their safety, and wouldn’t even legitimize their jackassery by arresting them?
Please, God, tell me that’s not the “blockade” he’s referring to.
I’ve never known of another person with such an inflated sense of self-importance. Does Matthis jerk off to his own mirror image?

Was Chiroux around for Desert Shield? There were some anti-deployment blockades, mostly of ammo shipments as I recall, back then.
DaveO, it wouldn’t matter if there was an anti-deployment blockade the very day before his and it was advertised on CNN… in Matthis’ delusional mind, it will always be his campaign, his glory. He puts himself on the pedestal. It will always be the lie he spews “in the name of truth,” just like lying about organizing congressional delegates and just like lying about organizing the Hempstead 15 action. The peace protest had been organized by other IVAW members. Matthis’ action in this protest, like all the other protests, consisted of theatrics focused on blaming, in his own words, the “Nazi” police who were only performing their duties to protect the public from the chaos that ensued. He fueled this aggression and hate to the point of his own arrest, along with other members of the IVAW who later were able to admit the wrongfulness of this endeavor.
