Jesse Jackson wants to send the rich to war

| November 22, 2010

ROS sent us a link from Right Scoop which posts a Jesse Jackson video in which the race pimp brings up the issue of starting the draft again. Jackson’s reasoning, of course, is to send the rich to war because his trade is class warfare. Of course, first you have to accept that the rich don’t want to go to war and the only reasons everyone else joins the military is for the money.

Yeah, I joined because I was drooling over the prospect of that fat $256 monthly paycheck. And that $55/month tax free jump pay was just icing on the cake. And I reenlisted for that $2100 parceled out over three years. Good times, good times.

I remember before the 2004 election Charlie Rangel tried to restart the draft for the same reasons. Somehow, the rumor of the draft morphed into Bush restarting the draft with MTV’s crowd pushing the rumor on it’s idiot audience.

Everyone seems to forget that it was Republicans who stopped the draft – that evil Nixon guy. Jimmy Carter restarted the registration in 1979 when it started to become apparent that the world was becoming a dangerous place with a weakened US military. He knew he’d have to put people in the military with threat of prison to back him up because he’d made the military too hard to man otherwise.

Of course, Jesse Jackson doesn’t explain what we’d do with all of those draftees – the services are all making their recruiting goals. There is such a thing as too many people, ya know. Are recruiters going to turn good solid enlistees away while we send a bunch of people to training that don’t want to be there? That makes sense…not even a little.

If we need to draft anyone it’s politicians, race pimps and journalists so they’ll stop shooting off their fat mouths about shit they haven’t spent a minute investigating. But, then Jackson is just mouthing populist platitudes so the ignorant masses will throw money at him.

Amazing how conservatives are the supposed warmongers and yet the Dems are the ones who have pushed the draft for the last 90 years, from WWI on through today.

Yes, recruiting sucks in a good economy, and only slightly less so in a bad one, but the fact that ALL the services are making goal (even the Air Force and Navy, who have actually INCREASED their standards over the last few years) speaks volumes as to how people (like me) have used the service as a springboard into something that can and often does translate into a field with lifelong security and decent standard of living, which is more than the liberals and all their vaunted “feelings” have achieved over the last several decades.

Don Carl

It isn’t enough that the democrats disenfranchise military voters?

Joe

I’m with Jesse. We need a people’s military, not a “professional” military. Might put an end to all the needless adventurism of the last 30 years. Can’t remember, has there been a period in the last three decades when we haven’t been at war?

NHSparky

Joe, is there a day that goes by that you don’t come up with just some incredibly mind-numbing stupidity? It’s okay not to blurt it out, really.

And no, a draft is NOT the way to go.

Old Tanker

Adventurism? What the hell are you talking about? You mean our military has just gone off and got into some wars for sheer adventure? All by themselves? without our ELECTED OFFICIALS okay’ing it?

It would still be a professional military dipshit and because it’s volunteer it really is a people’s military. It’s been gone over a million times at this site that the demographics of the military are similar to the population in general. Do you work at being such a tool or does it come naturally?

The Old One

Joey, will they be able to dodge the draft like you did? Maybe just roam around the desert while others sacrifice for you? And as to a none professional military…is it your desire that we become a military that only the Zimbabwe National Gaurd can be proud of? You truly are one of America’s 20%ers…Cowards should be deprived of their constitutional rights or at least be made to keep their pathetic opinions to themselves…eat a big ass bowl of steaming dicks, or at least suck start a 12 ga.

PintoNag

Heavens to Betsy! That’s the worst I’ve seen yet!
I can tell Joe’s having a Monday.

Re: #3

I’d say that if the past 30 years have taught us anything it’s that the last thing you want is an under trained, revolving door military full of people who don’t want to be there. The US military will never go back to a peace time draft and if this nation ever enters a high intensity conflict which creates the level of casualties that precede a war time draft then classist social experiments will be the least of the world’s concerns.

Granting Jackson’s premise that the poor are in the military and granting the usual premise that the poor join the military, because they have no other options. . . and that the poor are mostly Blacks. . . what then are the core reasons for that. . .

Well, what are the major problems within the Black community? Poor education and fatherless families. So, instead of railing against the military, why not instead work to fix the core problems within the Black community of poor education and fatherless families? Why aren’t people like Jesse Jackson railing against teachers’ unions and pushing for school vouchers for the Black community? Why aren’t people like Jackson denouncing the ‘hip hop’ and rap culture that permeates the Black community and also encouraging young men to take a concerted interest in studying in school, going to college and making something of themselves, taking personal responsibility for their actions in life RE: studying, staying out of trouble and not knocking up women which puts them in moral and financial trouble?

I guess that would be too difficult and it’s easier to just rail against the US military. Brilliant.

#3: You obviously never had to fight in a war with draftees alongside…I did, and prefer to fight with professionals any day…anywhere…anytime.

Basically, I know WTF I’m talking about…and you don’t.

bman

might want to take another look at those demographics. they show that a higher percentage of soldiers come from the south and the midwest, also more rural than urban, more (compared to population percentage) white than black, and high latino. so what and who cares, I likewise served with draftees and no thanks.

Sean

Cool….

Hey rev. Jackson in 2001 for Operation Noble Eagle, and for OIF in 2004-2005 My Bn’s S-4 was a Mulitmillionaire Named Joe Whaley (he was also a West Point Grad)5th Ave. Choclatiers?(my spelling suks 11B30). He came back from IRR to specifically deploy with his Battalion. I eagerly await any of your semi legitimate childrens arrival at Ft. Benning for Infantry OSUT, and we have a Slot for Chelsea Clinton waiting at Sand Hill.

It is just a continuation of the “only the poor and dumb” serve in the military.

They fail to notice the census shows that 26% of veterans (28% national) have a Bachelors or higher education and 92% have a high school diploma or equivilant.

It also showed that vetrans have a median income of $35,402 compared to $25,559 national average.

But the census doesn’t count because it doesn’t support the liberal agenda.

I guess I’ll go back to getting raped, not caring for Soldiers, and being sucidal.

UpNorth

Joey, you’re off your meds again, ain’t cha? WE can tell, cuz every time you post it comes out as idiocy, like the idiocy you did up in #3.
Joey, in case you don’t have a dictionary, or a thesaurus, the opposite of “professional” is “amateur”. Is that what you want? An amateur military, much like the amateur administration running the country right now?

TN

Well Jonn, you may be on to something. How about when a politician is elected, they do a two year (6 yr for Sen) enlisted stint, before they go to Washington. Re-elected? Another term of service equal to the period elected to starting at the rank they left with.

That’ll reduce the yellow-bellies in Washington and the idiots that want to go there.

Draft? With less than 1% of the population in the Military now and Congress refusing to up the authorized number of Troops, what will we do with the rest of those draftees?

No, like Joe said the call for the draft is not to increase Troop strength. The politicians calling for a draft are trying to undermine support for necessary military actions.

You first, Jesse, you first.
You class-ist, Marxist, piece-of-shit.
Lead by example (yeah, right, like THAT’S ever going to happen.
Talk the talk, but not walk the walk.
ow many out there have read Robert Heinlein’s classic “Starship Troopers”?
Remember the society in which the story is set?
One must serve a term in the armed forced, with an honorable discharge, in order to be allowed to vote and/or elected to office.
‘Nuff said.

“We need a people’s military-Might put an end to all the needless adventurism of the last 30 years.”

Nah, when the Soviet Union existed and had a “people’s military”, they went on a number of excursions outside of Mother Russia:
East Germany 1953, Hungary 1956, Czechoslovakia 1968, and Afghanistan 1979-89… Plus several “internal operations” within SSRs dating from 1917 to the 1960s.

And if you’re a UN supporter, they are involved in scads of external adventures & their conduct abroad is less than civil, ‘specially when it comes to sex trafficing and child prostitution…

Michael, you said: “taking personal responsibility for their actions in life RE: studying, staying out of trouble and not knocking up women which puts them in moral and financial trouble?”

You forget that Jessuh did knock up some bimbo and tried to pay her off with funds from his “charity”, do ya not? Funny, when a white “reverend” pulled that shit, he ended up losing his ministry, going to federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison, and dying in disgrace.

Nah, no double standards here, kids!

BooRadley

Michael and Sparky are right on– add to that having Uncle Sam do Daddy’s job you’ve got a perfect storm of moral, economic and civil decay.

Thor

I’d almost agree with the Heinlein mentality. The only problem with that is we’d have to loosen our standards for enlistment because NOT everyone is able to enlist due to physical, mental or moral problems. I’m not sure that I’d want some psychopath or derelict serving alongside me.

streetsweeper

Ya know what could be done is, haul the Revrun Jessuh Jacksun’s tail in to court on whatever bullshit beef. Then judge order him into the military for a period of no less than four years since this race baiting a$$hat believes so much in the draft. As a matter of fact, isn’t this the same draft he dodged when he was a punk running around the hood?

Just my .02

even in Vietnam there’s instances of Draftees showing incredible valor, but by in large it is the volunteer that does the best. for what ever reason they will not simply walk away when times get hard. It is the volunteer that pushes himself to go above and beyond his limits, and it is the volunteer that stays for another tour. As for this “rich” going to war, I don’t know who he’s talking about. I’ve run into Millionaires and doctorates all serving as grunts. by and large we are not the poor uneducated refuse we are the salt of the earth Middle class Americans who make up a representative percent of our population.

Caspin

The real problem is that a fantastically high majority of us have been brain washed since birth to salute and praise a flag, instead of each other and all people of Earth. This has allowed us to be okay with corporations exploiting other countries and their resources so we can all live the fat and happy life.

We all need to pee on the American flag. America is dead. Dead dead dead. The Earth remains. Love thy neighbor, like the wise man we all pretend to follow said.

Well, I see the jackasses in the SF Bay area are finally awake.

“The real problem is that a fantastically high majority of us have been brain washed since birth to salute and praise a flag, instead of each other and all people of Earth.”

So, we are to salute and praise all people of Earth? You start, Clothespin. Do one at a time, starting in Somalia. If you run into trouble there, just tell them you’re there to salute and praise them. I’m sure that it will work out for you.

Hondo

I would have suggested the NW Frontier Province in Pakistan, 2/17 Air Cav. But Somalia works too.

NHSparky

How about North Korea? I hear it’s lovely there this time of year.

2/17 Air Cav

@31 and 32. They’re both quite good. I had to pick one to ensure Clothespin started somewhere. Of course, wherever he starts outside of the US, he ends–and very badly at that.

Twist

He can start in Sierra Leone and see how long it takes before he is digging for blood diamonds.
