Bush accepts responsibility for waterboarding in book
R. Jeffrey Smith of the Washington Post claims he knows someone who has read a copy of President Bush’s memoir “Decision Point” and that in the book, the former president admits that he gave the CIA the go-ahead for waterboarding Khalid Sheik Mohammed;
In his book, titled “Decision Points,” Bush recounts being asked by the CIA whether it could proceed with waterboarding Mohammed, who Bush said was suspected of knowing about still-pending terrorist plots against the United States. Bush writes that his reply was “Damn right” and states that he would make the same decision again to save lives, according to a someone close to Bush who has read the book.
You mean he didn’t impanel a blue ribbon commission to deliberate for months while the political advisers shopped the proper response and polled study groups?
And then he admits it in his book, despite the fact that he might be tried in some useless-ass international court?
I wonder what you’d call all of that?

BALLS
Leadership. 😉
Leadership.
Courage
Sorely missed.
I heard Bush got confused and thought the CIA was talking about Surfboarding.
Nothing less than I would have expected from this MAN.
Really Big Brass Ones and serious Dedication to The Republic!
Big Ass Balls.
“Damn right”
No wetting the finger and sticking it the air on that one eh?
Leadership, integrity, accountability. Things the current president sadly lacks.
Oh, and Danny–eat a fat bag of dicks, mkay?
Execution of Presidentail duties and responsibilities.
Yes Sir! He definitely “BAUERED the FUCK UP”. Salute! God Bless Rough Men!
No, Bauer Bushes the fuck up.
Danny, I concur with NHSparky.
Wait, you mean he didn’t dither over whether or not he’d “lose the base” of his party? How can that be?
And Danny? what Chuck Z and Sparky said, doubled.
What he didn’t do was sit in the WH and contemplate all the possible ways it would make him look bad and how it would make him look to the Euroweenies and the UN, before giving the okie dokie. He led. He made a command decision and he stood by it (see how that works, Bobo? When you’re the CiC, you make those decisions) without regret and without second guessing his decision. Lives were on the line and he took his job serious.
Kinda reminds me of another leader, who made a command decision because lives were on the line, and didn’t shy away from that decision and stood tall in the aftermath (btw, he just got elected to congress from Florida).
Danny; your response is typical of the juvenile who thinks that they are smarter than everyone else. Let’s see your MBA from Harvard, like Bush has. Otherwise, go suck a grenade.
Jacobite said it first…and I would add that it was leading by example!!
Bush remarked once that if had never been elected that his life would not have changed much. He would have gone home and continued to live his life. But once he got elected, he knew his first job was to protect this Country and that he would take the hits, good or bad. The Pied Piper will never be able to say that. Ever.
