Keeping the H&C alive
I just listened in on a conference call from the President to the DNC and their subordinate Organizing For America band of volunteers and if you thought that last night taught Obama and his minions anything, let me disabuse of that notion.
The president lamented the fact that so many “good people who were looking after the interests of the American people” got fired last night, but we (dupes on the phone call) shouldn’t feel discouraged. We need to “work harder to deliver the change that Americans want” because that was the whole problem…not that they shoved crap down our throats that didn’t work.
Continuing on that theme, the president said that “We’ve got to keep on working hard until every American sees change.” Never mind that their programs aren’t working…keep shoving crap down their throats until they cry “Uncle” and admit they “see change” because we have to “bring a new era of American prosperity”. Of course that “new prosperity” may have looked like old poverty a few years back.
We need to “Keep the spirit of hope and change alive.”
So what did he tell us that we accomplished with our efforts of campaigning for him? Well, how about this doozy; “Troops are back from Iraq and will be back from Afghanistan because of the work” that Democrat volunteers have done. No, seriously, he said that. So the DNC and OFA have fought the wars to a successful conclusion. I’m sure the troops will be grateful when they hear that.
From Tim Kaine as well as the president I heard lots of talk about “fighting” Republicans and “winning” political battles in the future. I would have liked to heard that he was going to fight against our enemies and winning battles against terrorists who just attempted to attack us last week, but apparently the Republicans are a greater threat to our security.
I remember he threw out the arrogant “we won” line his first week as president-elect. Where’s the more humble “we lost”?

I’m not surprised in the least.
Color me surprised at the tone. Well, not really. President “I Won” won’t back down, he’ll just become more insular, defiant and arrogant.
Is such a call legal from the White House? (I’m assuming that he called from an office/government phone.)
I know it is strictly forbidden to campaign from a Congressional office.
The only thing I am remotely happy with this election is that a deadlocked government can’t get anything done. Making it less likely they will mess it up even more.
And it’s statement such as these that confirm my opinion that Obama will be a one-termer. Clinton got his ass handed to him in 1994 and moved towards the center. Obama got his ass handed to him and if anything will move farther left.
The gov’t ain’t officially deadlocked until Jan.
Only a filibuster by the Senate Republicans, stand between us and another 3000 page bill to further expand gov’t control over the people.
What’s the chances that some telegenic politician spouting the phrase “hope and change” without defining either gets elected President? Twice!
