Ron Paul is a douchetool
“I would like to congratulate Michael Steele for his leadership on one of the most important issues of today. He is absolutely right: Afghanistan is now Obama’s war. During the 2008 campaign, Obama was out in front in insisting that more troops be sent to Afghanistan. Obama called for expanding the war even as he pretended to be a peace candidate.
“Michael Steele should not resign. Smart policies make smart politics. He is guiding the party in the right direction and we are on the verge of victory this fall. Chairman Steele should not back off. He is giving the country, especially young people, hope as he speaks truth about this war.
“I have to ask myself, what is the agenda of the harsh critics demanding this resignation? Why do they support Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama’s war?”
I prefer to remember men like Patton on the 4th:
Men, this stuff some sources sling around about America wanting to stay out of the war and not wanting to fight is a lot of baloney! Americans love to fight, traditionally. All real Americans love the sting and clash of battle. America loves a winner. America will not tolerate a loser. Americans despise a coward; Americans play to win. That’s why America has never lost and never will lose a war.
Some America F* yeah after the jump.
Why he keeps getting reelected to Congress is beyond me. And the people of Kentucky are about to send his equally douchetool-y son to the Senate? Time to make him run as a Libertarian, which is what he is. See how far he gets then.
Because 14th District Texans are idiots. I can’t go a mile without seeing a Ron Paul sign on a fence or in a yard, and over there is even worse.
I’m just as baffled.
What’s REALLY baffling is that his son randy is being promoted as the “TEA Party candidate” in KY, even though he has affiliations with gutless, hate-filled, anti-military extremists!!!!!!
Last time I checked, REAL TEA Partiers don’t want anything to do with gutless, hate-filled, Un-American, anti-military extremists!!!!!
Paul Couturier, if you would take a minute to research the tea party movement, you’d notice something: It was started with the Ron Paul campaign as an extension of tax day protests.
Oh, and since we’re invoking famous generals and war heroes, I thought I would quote GA MacArthur:
“It is part of the general pattern of misguided policy that our country is now geared to an arms economy which was bred in an artificially induced psychosis of war hysteria and nurtured upon an incessant propaganda of fear. While such an economy may produce a sense of seeming prosperity for the moment, it rests on an illusionary foundation of complete unreliability and renders among our political leaders almost a greater fear of peace than is their fear of war.”
–General of the Army Douglas MacArthur
Paul? Where the hell did you come up with that one? I’m gonna love hearing this…considering the Tea Party didn’t get rolling until just last year, most noticeably with the comments of one Rick Santelli on CNBC last year. Need some proof?
http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=1039849853
Start listening at the 2:10 mark.
Oh, and Paul? Ron Paul and his Ronulans can all suck a bag of fat dicks.
And here’s another link for you. Ron Paul had fuck all to do with the Tea Party.
http://michellemalkin.com/2009/04/15/a-tax-day-tea-party-cheat-sheet-how-it-all-started/
Ron Paul is a communist POS. Debra should be droping by to defend him any second now.
NHSparky, thanks for linking to a biased blog. Obviously that proves you right.
The tax day protests existed before the Ron Paul campaign, sure. Here’s a challenge for you though: Find a modern “tea party” protest that predate’s Ron Paul’s in 2007.
Oh yeah, here’s a link: http://www.bostonherald.com/news/us_politics/view.bg?articleid=1051232
There were a lot off articles written about it.
@Marine 83: Do you even know what a communist is, or is that just a bad word to you?
Ron Paul has a hard time with facts. The first fact that he can’t grasp is that he voted for this war.
Here’s batshit crazy Ron Paul commenting on Afghanistan:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF48zA4IkCc
“But, I want to quote the first line of the resolution passed back in 2001, what the purpose of giving the president the power, which was an illegal transfer of power to the president to pursue war at will.”
Okay, let’s just stop there and ask one very simple question–if it was an illegal transfer of power to the president to pursue war at will, then WHY THE HELL DID HE VOTE FOR IT?
Ron Paul continues:
“It said: the authorities to have authorized the use United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States. The Taliban didn’t launch an attack against the United States. The government of Afghanistan didn’t launch it.”
Except that’s not what all that it says, and he knows it. Some people are too lazy to actually read the bill and may simply take Ron Paul’s word for it. I call those people Paulbots. But for the rest of you thinking Ron Paul fans out there, look it up. It says:
(a) IN GENERAL- That the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those NATIONS, organizations, or persons HE DETERMINES planned, authorized, committed, or AIDED the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001, OR HARBORED SUCH ORGANIZATIONS OR PERSONS, in order to prevent any future acts of international terrorism against the United States by such nations, organizations or persons.
(emphasis mine)
Well Paul, for some strange reason, my first comment is awaiting moderation. In it is the link to CNBC (you know how biased they are) with Rick Santelli in it. Remember him? And no, there have been Tax Day protests long before RuPaul and the Paulistinians ever though to crawl from their slimeholes. So no, you get a great big HISTORICAL FAIL.
And yet for all your blather, I’ve yet to see you provide anything even remotely demonstrating his “founding” of it. Not even close. Hmmmm…could that be because he DIDN’T have anything to do with it? So stop acting all butt-hurt and come correct next time.
lol Sparky, try reading what I write before responding.
Ben:
Even Ron Paul supporters will admit to his… cookiness. I think he makes a lot of good points regardless.
And yes, the bill Ron Paul voted for did authorize the President to go in to Afghanistan or pretty much anywhere else a case can be made for. I think the point he was trying to make was simply that it wasn’t his intent for us to completely take over Afghanistan, run their country, and not leave almost nine years later. I think what he intended was for us to go in, kick some ass, catch some bad guys, and come home.
Honestly, we went in to Afghanistan to get Osama, right? Instead of nation building, we should be focusing on the mission of stopping terrorists and real threats to our national security, not locals and foreign fighters from the region who are pissed off because we won’t leave their country/region.
RIF, Paul. I live about two hours from Boston. I’m intimately familiar with what goes on around here. There have been “Tea Party” reenactments for decades. It’s the common use of the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party which didn’t come into common use in the current form until just over a year ago. Most of the Tea Party folks I associate with think Paul IS a douchetool, but hey, if you want to defend or pimp for him, go right ahead.
And NO, Paul–Paul’s “supporters” will NOT admit to his “kookiness”. In fact, they get downright fucking pathetically upset if you speak ill of him, to the point where one of his “supporters” called my employer, trying to get me fired.
Like I said, Ron Paul and the rest of the Paulbots can go suck a bag of fat dicks.
:sigh: Your inability to read still astonishes me. The big tea parties were done nationwide in 2007 as part of the ron paul campaign fundraiser, and continued since then.
Uh, no. Try again. Even your link to the Herald has it on as a one-time event that coincided with the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. There’s a reenactment done in Boston every year.
http://www.oldsouthmeetinghouse.org/osmh_123456789files/AnnualReenactment.aspx
http://www.boston.com/travel/boston/gallery/boston_tea_party/
BTW–whatever happened to all that money Paul raised, anyway?
The most recent tea parties started in 2009 when the “stimulus” bill was being debated. Ron Paul had fuck-all to do with them. So why do you have such a hardon for the goofy old fucker, anyway?
Ron Paul is NOT anything close to a Communist. Not even close.
Say what you will about Paul, he doesn’t belong in the same category as the Lefttards.
That and our policy in the Middle East is all fucked up, regardless of the utter impracticality of complete noninterventionism.
Fred–when his policies are closer in line to that of Dennis Kucinich than the mainstream GOP (and has the voting record to prove it), he may not be a communist, but he is a fucking whackjob.
NH Sparky,
There are times I will agree that Ron Paul comes across as a whackjob.
On the other hand, he is right on somethings:
The bailouts were total horseshit.
Having large portions of our debt owned by the Chinese and assholes in Saudi Arabia is a bad thing.
The UN is absolutely useless.
Big Government is the problem.
Paul doesn’t have a monopoly on abhorring those things. Mike Pence has said the same, and isn’t batshit crazy and trying to surrender on the war I fought in.
I look at it this way, Fred–he’s basically a racist and an anti-Semite. Look at his old newsletters if you need any more evidence. Then he has no problem having Stormfront not only donating to him, but LINKING to him on their site. The excuse that he didn’t see it is frankly bullshit. They’re HIS newsletters–HIS name is above the fold and he should either know what is in them or man up and take some responsibility.
Nah–he’s batshit crazy in more ways than one…more than overshadows his fiscal policies (at least up front–until you see how much pork he brings back to his district–which makes him a racist AND a hypocrite in my book.)
NHS – He did man up and apologize for the news letters written by ghostwriters.
TSO – Surrender? I don’t think leaving Afghanistan to the Afghani’s would be surrender. Last I checked OEF was about killing terrorists and capturing Osama bin Laden, not occupying Afghanistan.
NH Sparky,
I can’t say I disagree about the newsletters. On the other hand, if Paul is considered anti-Jewish over Stormfront donations, I think everyone in DC who takes Saudi money belongs in the same boat. I mean I can’t think of anyone more anti-Jewish than the Saudis.
TSO
What does the fact that we are still fighting in Afghanistan after 9 years say about the intelligence level of our current batch of politicians, GOP included?
Paul–BULL-SHIT. Show me where he EVER apologized for what HE (not ghostwriters–HE) put out. HIS newsletter, HIS responsibility, which HE never accepted.
Seriously, do you fuckers just pop in Ron Paul in your search engine and just swoop and poop wherever a new thread comes up?
Sparky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6rxts0-f9w
My reply to Debra on this site,on Feb, 10 2010, Under COB6’s Kokesh Lands Key Lunatic Endorsment” post on this same topic.
“Anyway as to your claim he isn’t a leftist lets just tick down the list and see how he aligns with the American left.
Hates George Bush… check
Hates the Military… check
Hates Israel… check
Hates coprorations… check
Against the war in Iraq and Afganistan… check
Thinks Islamic hatred against the west is Americas fault… check
9/11 was and inside job… check
Pro abortion… check
Isolationist… check
Thinks Iran is Americas fault… check
Wants to normalize relations with Cuba… check
If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and fucks a duck it is probably a duck. Ron Paul is definitly a duck.
Marine 83: In other words, you have no clue what a communist is. Got it.
Ron Paul is not a Leftist.
He doesn’t think 9/11 was an inside job, though some of his supporters do.
he doesn’t hate George Bush.
He doesn’t hate Israel.
He doesn’t hate corporations.
He actually isn’t pro abortion.
He wants to normalize relations with everyone, including Cuba. Not the same as the Leftists on that one.
Besides, the Left is not isolationist. They are into nation building, policing the world and being pro war for the other side.
That and Ron Paul isn’t into entitlement programs and big government. Can that be said about the Left? No.
I don’t really see where Ron Paul aligns with the Left. Say what you will about the guy, he is clearly not a Leftist.
…and saying a libertarian like Ron Paul is anti-corporation. That’s just silly.
Fred–take a look at his voting record vis-a-vis Israel. He and Kookcinich are twins in that regard.
And Paul–goody–a “it’s someone else’s fault!” whiny squeaky apology. He’s still a racist fucktard, and so are a good many of his supporters (read: Stormfront.) Moral responsibility? WTF is that? Read my statement again–HIS newsletters, HIS name. He NEVER took direct responsibility for putting that shit out there. Ever.
I wouldn’t give Ron Paul the benefit of the doubt on those newsletters because there is no doubt. The ghostwriter explanation is bull. In 1996, he took full responsibility for writing them. He claimed that the statements were “taken out of context” (stop me if you’ve heard this one), but he didn’t deny writing them or apologize for the content.
Ron Paul wrote those newsletters. He evens speaks in the first person:
“I’ve been told not to talk, but these stooges don’t scare me. Threats or no threats, I’ve laid bare the coming race war in our big cities. The federal-homosexual cover-up on AIDS (MY TRAINING AS A PHYSICIAN helps me see through this one.) The Bohemian Grove–perverted, pagan playground of the powerful. Skull & Bones: the demonic fraternity that includes George Bush and leftist Senator John Kerry, Congress’s Mr. New Money. The Israeli lobby, which plays Congress like a cheap harmonica.”
Also, he speaks again in the first person here:
“Boy, it sure burns me to have a national holiday for that pro-communist philanderer, Martin Luther King. I VOTED AGAINST THIS OUTRAGE time and time again WHEN I WAS A CONGRESSMAN. What an infamy that Ronald Reagan approved it! We can thank him for our annual Hate Whitey Day”
And Paul,
I would not agree with you that Paul supporters admit that he is sometimes kooky. Paul’s supporters voraciously defend everything and anything he says, no matter how stupid. They react to any criticism of their preferred candidate as if you are trying to keep a good man down. Their favorite defense is simply to call you a “neo-con” or an “Israel-lover” or a part of the New World Order. All criticism of Paul is part of a larger conspiracy.
Ben: Well, I’m a Paul supporter, and I love a lot of what he says, until he goes off on some crazy tangent about the gold standard.
Let me define ghostwriter for you:
ghostwriter (plural ghostwriters)
A professional writer who is paid to write books, articles, stories, or reports which are officially credited to another person.
That being said, I think that the letters are likely written by someone else given other speeches and writings he’s made. That being said, he did handle it horribly and should probably identify the writer if he ever wants to be taken seriously on a national ticket.
Also, I’ve never seen the “Israel-lover” defense, at least not from any of the fellow Ron Paul supporters I’m acquainted with.
I am not a Ron Paul supporter, not primarily because of his views on foreign policy(which I actually agree with him on some things like the UN and closing certain overseas bases) but because the people who has chosen to support an associate himself with.
It’s 50-50 for me, his Foreign Policy (Iraq and Afghan) and those shitty newsletters that were laden with racism and anti-semitism. Add in all the wacky folks he associates with and that’s enough for me.

Paul’s congressional district also has been among the top in Texas in receipt of federal assistance since 2000, receiving $31 billion from Washington, according to a study by the group OMB Watch. In the first nine months of the 2006 fiscal year, the district received $4 billion in federal aid.

As far as I know he is one of the few Congressmen to not have inserted “earmarks” the big Budget Bills for pork projects in his District.
He does insert them. Then he votes against the bill he knows will pass so he can say he voted against earmarks. Some of his earmarks for fiscal year 2009:
$500,000 for City of Bay City for NuBlac Rehab Center (youth rehabilitation)
$3.5 million for study of health risks of exposure to vanadium
$2 million for City of Bay City for NuBlac Rehab Center (serving minority veterans)
$5 million for FEMA to recycle household hazardous waste in Friendswood
$1.96 million to replace buses in and around Victoria
$5 million to reconfigure Texas Clipper training ship
$25,000 to install security cameras at Fox Run Apartments in Victoria
$2 million to beautify Galveston Seawall and support Transit Access Program in Galveston
$3.5 million for analysis of commuter rail alternatives in Galveston
$248,942 for UTMB for employee wellness program for small businesses
$1.748 million for University of Houston-Victoria for DNA testing and genetic diagnostic lab
$1.92 million for UTMB to study muscle mass loss in aging vs. microgravity (NASA related) at International Space Station National Lab
$26 million for Washington, D.C. “Reading is Fundamental” program
$10 million for Boston, Mass., “Reach Out and Read” national center
Tens of millions more in Ron Paul 2009 earmarks are HERE blogs (dot) chron (dot) com/txpotomac/2008/04/ron_pauls_earmarks_for_fy2009 (dot) html
That info is a tiny bit of what my researchers have dug up on Ron Paul, his fantic US and worldwide supporters; the donations and where they come from and their continuing shenanigans in-so-far as Debra Medinas losing in the Texas Governors race.
I’ll contact you when the research team have a complete report ready to publish, Jonn.
I’m surprised you didn’t include the brothel owner who had a donation box for Ron Paul during the 2008 election season. Another good one is how he has a huge gold investment portfolio, while advocating for the gold standard.
If a congressman doesn’t allocate funds for his district, then the district pays taxes while not receiving as much of the benefit of those tax dollars. Spending needs to be cut across the board, not just in conservative districts.
Yes Paul; We know about his gold investment portfolio and mine owners contributions. The cathouse owner I’ll grant a pass.
You need to go back and re-read; He is against earmarks, puts them in bills he knows are going to pass anyway then votes against the bill to claim he’s against earmarks.
Got spin?
Not sure what discussion to put this one in, but you MUST use the link below to snoop around this page. I haven’t even looked at all the other tabs yet.

“If a congressman doesn’t allocate funds for his district, then the district pays taxes while not receiving as much of the benefit of those tax dollars”. Well, hell, Paul, why didn’t you just say what you meant? Pork is OK, as long it’s a libertarian like Ronpaul doing it? As long as Ronpaul tells everyone he’s against pork, it’s all good, right? Makes Ronpaul as great a statesman as Robert KKK Byrd, right?
You know, I was going to write some long response about how UpNorth is being horribly obtuse… but you know what, a lot of the other Ron Paul supporters really creep me out sometime with their crazy conspiracy theories…….
Pro abortion? LOL As an obstetrician who has delivered hundreds of babies in his medical career, Paul is one of the most pro-life members of Congress.
Hates the military? Hmm..I guess he picked up that hatred as a flight surgeon in the Air Force.
Communist/leftist? Ha not even worthy of comment.
So Paul has some principled criticism of US foreign policy and its military endeavors and that makes him a “fucktard” as one so eloquently put it? So I guess when we go to war the attitude really is, “Shut your fucking mouth you fucking communists and support the troops or else!” Just sounds like the other side of the equally insidious “America sucks!” flag burning Matthis-types.
I have a few things I can agree with Ron Paul about, but it is more of a “a stopped clock is right twice a day” syndrome. Mostly I think he’s a tool, and the Paulbots and assorted nutjobs surrounding him are way outside my comfort zone.
