Obama to OFA: We will do whatever it takes

| June 21, 2010

In my latest BFF email from the president, he tells me and my other friends at Organizing For American that “we’ll do whatever it takes to stop the leak”. Of course, I immediately wondered who the Hell “we” is. Has he got a Haliburton in his pocket?

He makes the pronouncement at about :25 into this message exclusively to me and my OFA brothers and sisters

Of course, the rest of the video is to tell us to support his “Clean Energy Bill” which will somehow untether us from Mideast oil and mysteriously employ millions of Americans. Of course, he doesn’t tell us how some as yet undiscovered clean energy will do all of this – but, hey when you’re working on a whole ‘nother level than us blivet heads in the trenches, who needs details.

Obama derides “people in Washington” – where does he live again? But anyway, we’re supposed to write those people in Washington and let them know that we want them to support the President’s Clean Energy Bill but oddly enough, the only reason I can see from this video to support the president’s bill is because he told us to support it. If this video had any less substance, it’d be a child’s drawing.

Um…I guess you didn’t know that President Obama has tapped Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus for leading the Gulf coast restoration efforts. Of course, the Coast Guard has been involved in this from the beginning, from a security standpoint anyway. I’m not sure exactly what this means for the Navy in practical terms…though Obama did give a nice little speech to sailors and Marines at NAS Pensacola last Tuesday…while they took a day off from training…and I “worked from home” that day, as directed. 🙂 The video of his speech to the troops at NAS Pensacola is, of course, on YouTube.
