Caution…may just p*** you off

Is there anything more revealing than same party protection of a pol who is obviously guilty as sin, but their party rallies around them. Hey, they may be guilty as sin and for all we know may have sexually molested babies, but – they are in our party, so we’re gonna give them a free ride. Sound familiar? Pretty much covers both parties, almost all of the time. Occasionally someone REALLY EGREGIOUS gets abandoned to twist in the wind, but in general – the enemy of my enemy is my friend, no matter how odious.

This week’s example is Ilhan Omar – we could go into the ways and numbers she has offended the average American, but the only thing that matters is that a) her Somali-dominated district reliably keeps electing her and b) she is, after all, a D. And in Minnesota, being a D makes you invulnerable. (Hell, look at Walz.)

The Minnesota House Fraud and Oversight Committee set May 5 as the deadline for Omar to provide documents in the probe, which is focused on emails dating back five years and related to the MEALS Act. Ethics investigators believe the MEALS Act, which Omar co-sponsored in 2020 and was meant to provide free school lunches during the pandemic, was exploited for fraud.

Feeding Our Future, an ostensible nonprofit that took federal funds made available by the MEALS Act to pay for free school lunches. But federal investigators say the nonprofit’s leaders instead used the $250 million of taxpayer dollars to fund their lavish lifestyles instead.

U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota won’t face a subpoena — at least for now — after Democrats in the State House voted unanimously against an oversight committee effort to compel the congresswoman to testify after she missed a deadline to provide documents in the committee’s fraud investigation.  Dave Rubin

Usually a pol says “I been framed”, “It’s just a political hit” – maybe normally. In this care, though, she just flips the investigation a strongly upraised Moslem middle finger and all the Democrats in sight don’t even make a pretense of chasing the truth. Just  no, no need for her to answer any allegation. Oh, and up yours, America. Dunno about you, but I really regret never going into politics – dealing fentanyl seems so much cleaner in retrospect. No wonder Harry T. compared it with playing piano in a whore house.  Rant over.

Dali: Ship in deadly Baltimore bridge collapse leaves three months ...

Y’all might remember an incident where a container ship crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge outside of Bal’imur. (Yes, live near there a while, and know it is not pronounced Balt-i-more.) Here is an update.

The Dali, bound for Sri Lanka, lost power twice in a four-minute span as it moved to sea from the Port of Baltimore, causing it to crash into the Key Bridge in the early hours of March 26, 2024. Investigators say a loose wire in a switchboard likely caused the first power loss that led to its steering failure.

After regaining power, the ship found itself in trouble again. The Dali turned to a certain pump to supply fuel to two generators but the pump was not designed to automatically restart after the first blackout, so a second blackout occurred, the indictment says.

If the Dali had used the proper fuel pumps, according to the indictment, the vessel would have regained power in time to safely get under the bridge. Instead, it crashed into a supporting column of the bridge, killing six construction workers who had been filling potholes. AP

Federal prosecutors allege the defendants improperly used a “flushing pump” to supply diesel to two of the Dali’s generators, rather than normal fuel supply pumps that have redundancies and can automatically restart. That pump’s failure has been blamed for the second of two power outages in the moments leading up to the collision.

Kelly Hayes, the U.S. attorney for the District of Maryland, said that “the indictment alleges that if the Dali had been using the proper fuel supply pumps, then the vessel would have regained power in time to safely navigate under the Key Bridge.”  CBS News

Cheaping out and killing six people – I have a strong feeling  this should get expensive. Sadly, I see a few overseas companies declaring bankruptcy (probably via Ferrari car phones) and little satisfaction in the US. Really hope I am wrong.

The indictment names Synergy Marine Pte Ltd., based in Singapore, and Synergy Maritime Pte Ltd., based in Chennai, India. Radhakrishnan Karthik Nair, 47, an Indian national who was technical superintendent for the Dali container ship, was also charged.

Synergy Marine expressed disappointment and accused the U.S. Justice Department of turning an accident into a crime.

I’m breathlessly waiting to see how  THEY think it should be described.

So it winds up as a bridge over a troubled container ship.

The Dali’s insurers paid out to policy limits ($500M) and the Grace Ocean Private (owners of the Dali) agreed to a $2.25 Billion settlement yesterday.

More claims are being pursued against the builder, Hyundai.

It is not going to be enough to pay for a new bridge but better than nothing.

I think this week’s example should be the Democratic Party of California who are now essentially all agents of China.

Eric Swalwell: Sleeping with Chinese agent (and lots of others, sometimes without consent)

Dianne Feinstein: Chauffeur and gofer was Chinese agent for 20 years

Eilieen Wang: Mayor of Arcadia and unregistered agent of Chinese Propaganda Bureau

Leeland Yee: (California State Senator): Trafficked Arms for China and took bribes for political favors

Jose Huizar: (LA City Council) On the take from China

Barbara Boxer: After leaving office became a registered agent of Chinese State Surveillance agency Hikvision.

These are just the ones that got caught.

And all of this surprises noone

Did someone mention child molesters? The Democrats have come up with a new (old) way to run a smear campaign. This was set up at a NY Art Gallery by the Institute for Primary Facts, that whom drinks from the pool of Chinese straw donors that is Act Blue.

Dubbed; “The Donald J. Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Reading Room”; is an interesting take on a smear campaign. We will not indulge the Democratic hopes, dreams and fantasy of Trump being deceased. They have printed out all of the released files on Epstein and make an attempt to link them with Trump. There is no linkage so far as sex trafficking, pedophilia, or any other illegal behavior. This primary fact is omitted.

You aren’t even allowed to read the books unless you are on a special list of law enforcement, media or a lawyer? Why someone would want to do that when all the files are much more easily available and searchable on line I’m not sure. However if you do go up there and read them be sure to wear gloves and watch out for sticky pages from the dems jerking off reading the files.

Everything is done by aspersion, inference, disparagement, and denigration. However it falls just short of slander, calumny and defamation to avoid a litigious Trump.

“This primary fact is omitted.”

Facts? we don’t need no steenking facts!

“You aren’t even allowed to read the books unless you are on a special list of law enforcement, media or a lawyer?”

That’s… that’s… very nearly book banning! Ermagerd!

Just %*#!% charge her already. See if she can pony up those documents in court as part of her defense. If not, clang goes the slammer door.

We all have flawed individuals who carry our particular banner because, you know, humans.

When you demonize the opposition to the point of being a threat that will take your freedoms, round you up and then KILL you, then you feel it doesn’t matter how bad your guys are, you have to keep them to fight the “existential” threat.

I was trying to think of an example of a general in WWII being kept in the fight despite their flaws so they could fight Hitler but we did sidetrack Patton cause he slapped a soldier he thought was acting cowardly. (Man, what is the deal with us sometimes.)

Anyway, since this seems to work – especially for the Dems because of superdy-duperdy evil Orange Man – I figure this will be the way of things going forward. First Bush was Hitler. Then Romney and McCain were the new Hitlers when trying to take out Dear Leader. Then there was Trump who WAS Hitler. The next Republican presidential candidate will just be the “New Trump”. Count on that.

Gosh, that sounds awfully TEJTMish. Where have we heard that before?

“Pretty much covers both parties, almost all of the time.” True, but the difference is that if your name is followed by “D”, your transgressions are ignored and you get re-elected. Repeatedly. If your name is followed by “R”, you’re generally shown the door. We have our failures, we’re just better at cleaning up after ourselves.

What if it looks like there is a chance you might split the vote for governor in California and open the door for a Republican to win? Can you be burned at the stake then?

SFC D

California will burn anyone at the stake that won’t bend the knee to their bullshit. “The will of the people” is a myth, or should I say a blatant lie.

Admin: what is it with TAH/VG and early morning (lack of) access?
I don’t know if it’s the TAH site, or my ancient kindle (Silk browser), but this morning (0530 Mtn) when I attempted to access TAH (multiple times), it kept timing out on me. I could get to other websites easily and quickly, so I don’t think it’s the local internet.
Wassup?

Yes, you are correct, its pronounced Bal-mer and the state we live in is Mur-lin. As a lifelong Bal-merian I can attest to the incessant butchering of the English language by our peoples. Despite the fact that I am a Catholic school graduate (all the way through) and was taught to speak the “Queen’s English” I myself still butcher it as well. What is lesser well known about Bal-mer is that the butchered dialect varies from neighborhood to neighborhood. In my neighborhood, as a kid, we liked to go see the “far ingins” at the “far house.” And when it snowed my dad put chains on his “car tars.” If someone got hurt, chances are that an “am-ba-lampse” was called. I could go on and on but y’all get the “pitcher.”

Sounds pretty similar to growing up outside of Philly..

Anything like Loo’siana and Naw’lins?

The “Minnesota House Fraud and Oversight Committee” asking Omar to produce documents is akin to saying “We have investigated ourselves and have found no wrongdoing or culpability.” The same can be said for any committee at the federal level.

It’s all political theater. Nothing more.
