Unofficial Conservative Anthem?

| June 7, 2010

I still haven’t gotten over my abject disgust at that jackass PHD (from Harvard!) Craig Hooper. Anyway, I was thinking about how numbnuts was accusing Crush from Blackfive of advocating violence, and it occured to me: You know who advocated some serious violence? Bocephus. Hell, that dude wanted to spit some Beachnut in a dudes eye and then shoot him with a .45.

Anyway, I remember waking up to this song when I spent one ill-fated year at UMASS. We would wake to this, punch each other, spill a beer down our chest while guzzling it, and prepare for another intellectually stimulating day at the World’s Center for Communist Thought Massachusett’s finest place of higher learning. I won’t dime out my sort of housemates from there, but there were like 11 of us. (Not all lived in the House at 66 Squire Village in Sunderland) One is now a nuclear engineer, one some banking mukkitymuck in New York, one a Sheriff of a very large city in Massachusetts, one a lawyer, one high up in the NRA, one an Executive Director of a Congressional Commitee, and one was a campaign guy for Buchanon before he (Pat) jumped the shark. (And one a no talent assclown blogger.) I don’t know where the rest are.

Either way, Conservative National Anthem?

Somewhat oddly, our only other wake up song was “The Soft Parade” by the Doors.

If all else fails, we could whip the horses eyes.

The openning notes of Country Boy Can Survive still gives me goosebumps. I don’t know a good ole boy or gal that doesn’t know the words and won’t break into song when it comes on.

Same here. I can go with Bocephus.

I learned to call Massachussetts the East Coast bed of Communism I grew up in the other bed…CT.
That said, I agree with Tim and good for you for knowing you were potentially opened up to being brainwashed. Nothing like a good old country tune to keep you in check!!

I can handle it. Maybe I’ll play it this weekend and scare the shit out of the Massholes…the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, and you ‘shore got a purdy mouth, boy…

They don’t call us “Cow Hampshire” for nothing.

Not you asked but this is a decidedly a conservative anthem.

Even if they get quote about lawyers wrong… the sentiment is sound.

I dunno, kind of think Blake Shelton’s “Kiss my country ass” would work too.

In hindsight, I am SO glad that by the Grace of God and my parents I did NOT spend my entire youth in Taxachusetts. Some in Virginia, some in Mass, and the college years in Utah. Ahhh. . .nothing like a well-rounded youth.

Gary

I vote Twisted Sister’s “We Not Going to Take It”

Virtual Insanity

“My Town,” Montgomery Gentry?

What ahs always surprised me is that when the song (Country Boy Can Survive) is sung by folks, its always sung in a mournful manner. Its not a dirge but folks almost treat it that way. Anybody else notice that?
