Can you identify this person?

| May 25, 2010

The above-pictured person is a member of the Marine Corps League Post in Hardware City, Connecticut. The folks at POW Net have been trying to identify her and asked for our help. If you scroll down the page at POW Net, you’ll see that members of the MCL are real defensive about her and they say that she is the first female Marine helicopter pilot.

Well, that’s not true – the first female Marine helicopter pilot was (then Captain, now Lieutenant Colonel) Sarah Deal in 1995. The woman in the picture has Vietnam service medals – more than two decades before Sarah Deal earned her wings.

The folks in Hardware City seem reluctant to clear this up, so we’re more than willing to do it ourselves, but we need your help getting a name.

I went looking. For those of you who don’t know, “Hardware City” is a nickname for the town of New Britain in CT.

The implications I have read on multiple sites show that there may have been a sex change? Otherwise they are not releasing the name of the person.

Nobody seems to be owning this one.

Jonn, I got that, haha. There’s no way this is on the up and up. Just no way.
As for DADT, haha. Nothing but *not* getting thrown out with such an admission should change.

defendUSA,
Ah, beat me to the punch. New Britain is the home of Stanley tools. Another nickname is New Britski. Lotta Poles live there(the no-shit Poles, straight from the old country).
