Longer “Collateral Murder” Video Posted
Wikileaks has posted a longer version of the “collateral murder” video without its own commentary yesterday. The longer video (which Wikileaks says is unedited) shows that shortly after 1-16 Infantry arrives on the scene they start taking fire from a nearby building and the Apache has to take that out too. That part starts around 3o:00 in this video:
This longer video reinforces the fact there was pretty intense combat going on in that neighborhood where this Apache and 1-16 Infantry were operating. In what has become typical of the way the war in Iraq has been reported, the coverage of this story has been pretty shallow and leaves out important details. I have been scanning news articles from the AP, Reuters, CNN, MSNBC, and several others and most leave out important details. Almost none of the articles mention that there were RPGs among the insurgents smoked or even attempted to provide any background on how heavy the fighting was in that area. Not to mention there has been little mention of the new video that was posted yesterday. Fucking typical.

I wonder why I haven’t seen this longer video on the MSM sites?
The modern news has been made easier by the internet.
Wikipedia and WikiLeaks are a perfect example of how we get news by way of consensus, not impartial investigation.
Journalistic integrity has become Journalism of convenience.
But such is modern life. We see our leaders of all segments of society seeking a consensus for decision making, even if the people involved in the consensus have no reason to be included.
That give me an idea!
I am officially announcing my new internet web ring titled “Wiki-Con”
The basic premise is that we have a community where non-vetted members can collaborate to create a fully accessible human powered constitutional knowledge base. It’s an e-constitutional convention.
We can finally shed the bondage of no-tech legal and social theory and fully embrace the living, breathing document that is the basis of our great community as humans.
It will be great. When I am writing papers in law school I will be able to site this community instead of having to toil in the tomes of judicial precedence to form opinions and arguments.
.
Heard the story about this on “Democracy Now” on the radio. The turdsmoker from wiki-leaks and the dipschit interviewing him wanted the Apache crew crucified because of the harsh language combatants use whilst in an environment where assholes are trying to kill you.
I could tell by the radio show it was bullshit and when I watched the video here, I want nothing more than to drop wiki-wanker and the DN interviewer off on the streets of Sadr city at midnight…
Well, that last part that was left off the first version didn’t really clear up anything… Well except for that area in and around that building..LMAO. Poor bastid walking in front of that hellfire got rude wake up call didn’t he?
I can’t believe the BS from liberpukes over this. This is a NON-ISSUE, guys with weapons in a active fire zone equal targets. Good job.
One thing that I didn’t understand:
The apache gunner kept having issues with his equipment. First the azimuth warning, then the gunner couldn’t locate the missile? WTF? then it wouldn’t launch…What’s up with that, it could have been real bad if they needed air cover ASAP.
Robert, I am not an Apache crew member but I am assuming it was just the heat of the moment type thing. I mean they were trying to do a million things at once (coordinate with the ground guys, look out for other targets, give locations, etc.).
Thanks Dan, it seemed to me that there were more than one apache on scene. It also seemed that the gunner was having some issues with equipment… Gotta get that fixed..
Notice how my comments are about tactical issues and safety of Americans? Perhaps the liberpukes should look at it from that angle sometimes…Pricks.
I assumed the pilot was either green or hadn’t been in flight status for awhile. The other pilot doesn’t seem surprised when he can’t find the missle control and talks him through everything he does.
boom.
Fuck’em. Don’t bring a rifle to a Hellfire fight.
Any reports or sources on what weapons the 1/16 Inf. grunts recovered when they arrived on the scene? I assume the Four element was the Infantry. At 19:26, an individual is reported as having an RPG round underneath him.
Am arguing with some non-vet pukes on another site. I did see what I thought to be an RPG-7 a bit after the 2 minute mark.

An alternate point of view from some experienced military guys…..
“Defense analyst Pierre Sprey, who led the design teams for the F-16 and A-10 and who spent many years in the Pentagon, stresses two particularly damning features of the footage. The first is the claim that Noor-Eldeen’s telephoto lense could be mistaken for an RPG. “A big telephoto for a 35mm camera is under a foot and half at most. An RPG, unloaded , is 3 feet long and loaded, 4 foot long. These guys were breathing hard to kill someone.””
“”A retired U.S. Marine was even blunter in an email exchange:
“Not a good show at all. The group on the ground were banishing nothing that ‘looked’ or appeared as weapons, especially the voiced ‘RPG’ which is so obvious when loaded. And then again – they were told in advance by intelligence (I am sure by the tone in the flight) that these people were bad guys. The Apache crews were just stupid and the intelligence clowns pointing them and egging them on are guilty of murder – ‘you are clear to engage’. GMAFB.””

Oh, look–someone let the douchenozzle out of his cage after the weekend! Seriously, Joe–counterpunch? What’s next, plaster and barbed wire mockups “proving” that the Twin Towers were brought down by controlled demolition, ordered by the Bildeburgers, Trilateral Commission, and the Masons? Or, the more likely scenario, is that you haven’t got a fucking clue of which you speak and would rather play seagull to start off the week, before we’ve even had our coffee to get ready to deal with your pathetic bullshit?
Go play on the freeway already.
