73-year-old woman accused of shooting man at North Carolina Burger King
Story by Rodney Overton
DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A 73-year-old woman was arrested and charged after police say a man was shot with a .38 Special revolver at a Burger King in Durham early Sunday afternoon. The shooting was reported just after noon in the 1600 block of NC 55, according to a Durham Police Department news release.
“Once on scene, officers located an adult male who had been shot,” the news release said.
EMS took the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, officers said.
At least three Durham police officers were at the Burger King at 1601 NC 55 near S. Alston Avenue, according to photos from the scene. Crime scene tape was also around the door of the restaurant.
“Based on preliminary investigation, the gunshot wound is the result of a disturbance,” police said.
Patricia Anne Rogers, of Raleigh, was arrested and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, an arrest warrant said. She was also charged with misdemeanor discharge firearm within the city limits, records indicate.
The arrest warrant said Rogers used a Smith and Wesson model 642 revolver in the shooting at the Burger King. The model 642 is also known as a .38 Special +P Revolver.
Rogers was later released from the Durham County Jail on a $5,000 secured bond.

It would be MOST interesting to get the full backstory on this one.
What led up to the shooting?
Someone was off their meds?
Cutting ahead of the line at BK?
An actual physical assault?
“And this, boys and girls, is why you must always maintain situational awareness, and mind your manners. You never know who you’ve been rude to, who is also armed.”

Awwright…
Anyone shooting someone if they’re over the age of 60 should get a free pass.
WHY?
Because the skell they shot is probably
*Somebody who was dating their daughter, but was WAY older than her.
*Somebody who was Mexican but in America illegally.
*Was the “result of a disturbance”.
*Just happened to piss the old guy off.
This was a 73 y.o. g’ma that did the shooting.
Should they get the same free pass?
Too many unanswered questions.
