Jazmir Tucker, 15, fatally shot Thanksgiving night by Akron police, authorities confirm

An Akron police officer fatally shot a 15-year-old boy Thanksgiving night while investigating after hearing gunshots in the Sherbondy Hill neighborhood, according to poliice.Akron Mayor Shammas Malik and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday night identified the teen who was killed as Jazmir Tucker of Maple Heights.
“Every loss of life is a tragedy, and to lose a young life is heartbreaking,” Malik said in a news release. “My condolences are with Jazmir’s loved ones tonight. My thoughts are also with our Akron police officers and their families.”
The shooting occurred after 11 p.m. Thursday when two Akron police officers heard gunshots at Vernon Odom Boulevard and East Avenue and investigated the noise.
A short time later, they found a teen with a loaded firearm, police said in a news release issued Friday morning. One officer discharged his weapon. The other officer never fired.
The officers administered emergency first aid until emergency medical services arrived to transport the 15-year-old to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to police.

Pastor fights off Thanksgiving would-be burglar with jiu-jitsu training

When a would-be burglar broke in to a California church on Thanksgiving day, he encountered an unexpected obstacle: A pastor, trained in martial arts and determined to defend his house of worship.Pastor Nick Neves came to First Family Church in Antioch early on Thursday morning after an alarm went off, he told CNN.
When he arrived, he discovered “a smashed window and a door propped open.” A man had used an axe to break a church window and access the building, the Antioch Police Department said in a Facebook post.
“As I was going into the door, the perpetrator came out with a handful of our goods, and I stopped him, and I told him he was essentially under citizen’s arrest, that the police would be there, and he needs to stop and wait for them,” Neves, who has been involved with the church since 2005, told CNN.
“And he wasn’t having that,” the pastor said. “So he tried to run, and I restrained him, and he began to fight with me. And so we tussled for quite a while before the cops were able to get there.”
Neves told CNN he has practiced martial arts, particularly Brazilian jiu-jitsu, since he was in high school.

When I was hired by US Trucking Armored car in 1970 before we merged with Brink’s Armoured Car, one of our pickups was a Church in Flushing Queens NYC and the Pastor had a concealed carry permit. The demographics were changing at the time.

Depending on the neighbohood, some LEO’S have forgotten the fergusson effect where you don’t do car stops slow down on gun and domestic runs untill the shit is over that you are responding to. Do expired parking meter tickets and parked cars expired tags and make sure the cars aren’t occupied. This way you can go home to your familly alive.
