Army pranks Air Force
The ongoing rivalry between services… the stuff from which legends are made. And between the academies? Even better. This week, the focus moved from stealing Bill the Goat or Army academy mules to the Air Force. There isn’t as much history to work with there, partially because they just haven’t been around that long, and partially I am sure because of the 1500+ miles between Colorado Springs and either competitor. Hard to sneak out, play a trick, and get back in time for the first morning formation.
But Army managed to pull one off.
The upper bleachers of Falcon Stadium are colored so that the words “Air Force” can be read when the stadium is empty. But this week, Army (or its fans, no one really knows) found its way into the empty arena and painted it to read “Chair Force” for passersby.
Well, as insults go, I dunno. Not a lot of sting…after some of the things we say about Navy, ‘chair force’ is pretty mild. But, in their home stadium?
Good clean fun. Although, as the wife (who is also former Army) pointed out, they could have reduced their exposure time and been more efficient had they just substituted an A for the O in Force. Must not have had any efficiency engineer students involved.
Do cadets at the military academies have to show up 15 minutes before the game and police call the parking lot for cigarette butts?

Was thinking similar as the closing paragraph, not only add the “CH” but also replace the “O” with an “A” to make “CHAIR FARCE”.
But no matter, it’s all epic, and will generate buzz for years, if not decades.

“Well played Army!” Heh heh…so was the game. Army dropped da bomb and Chair Farce never got off the ground. Was actually able to watch a good portion of that game and it WAS a good’un. Now…come December there will be no doubt where The Commander’s Trophy will end up when (GO) Army puts (BEAT) Navy in their place. Too soon?
