SPD: Armed good Samaritan saves pregnant woman from attacker
Story by JAMES LYNCH
Seattle police said an armed good Samaritan saved a pregnant woman. The Seattle Police Department (SPD) reported he came to the rescue of the woman during a domestic violence incident and shot her attacker.
It happened Sunday morning at about 10:30 at West Seattle’s Lincoln Park.
“An adult male witness, that was armed with a gun, he intervened on an in-progress domestic violence assault of a pregnant woman inside a vehicle,” SPD Officer Eric Munoz said.
Police said the woman managed to get out of the vehicle. The man shielded her from her attacker and tried to retreat while protecting the pregnant woman as the suspect kept moving toward them.
“The armed male retreated approximately 40 or 50 yards into the park, telling the suspect to basically back away and stop pursuing them,” Officer Munoz said.
“Ultimately, the male shot the suspect while he was protecting the felony DV victim. And this woman was four months pregnant at the time.”
The suspect was shot once in the hip and taken to the hospital. He’s alive and is expected to be charged with Felony domestic violence assault, reported police.
SPD said the woman was not seriously injured.

I feel bad for this guy. He will definitely see a civil suit… I mean, he took away the guys livelihood. How is he going to chase down indigents with a bad hip?!
I approve this comment!
Taking lessons from Saint George of Fentanyl by attacking pregnant women? His nefarious activity bit him in the azz, didn’t it.
j0hN sKeRrY should be committed to hang from the highest tree. POS wouldn’t know ethics even if there were 57 varieties. PHUQUE HEEM!
Fondly remember the Model 98 Mauser I bought from K-Mart on a Blue Light Special back in ’65/’66(?). There were several cases of them, still coated from the factory with the German Army markings. IIRC, the rifle was $8 and I spent another few bucks on boolitts. Do remember the total was $12. Alas, it was stolen during a break in around ’76. Very nice, hard hitting, accurate shooting iron.
Some escort duty today, along with a provision run to the K Roger. What’s for lunch? Hmmmm
I’ve a few Mausers (imagine that). Shortly before I joined the Army, the market had dried up in VA, leading to me making the fateful decision to trade my Century Arms built IMBEL FN-FAL along with one or two other guns, plus the Jennings J22 I threw in for free. I got my M28 Civil Guard rifle (Mosin-Nagant), a refinished Kar98k, and a well-worn Kar98k (both late-war, one’s a dou44 and the other a dot43? I forget). I think I got my G43(t) in this trade as well and passed on an M39 Mosin-Nagant. Can’t remember, oh well, regardless, the M39 is the only rifle I no longer own, if I ever did.
I picked up a vz.24 a few years later, as well as a Spanish M1916 Mauser in .308. So far, no Imperial German Mausers but time will tell.
Retired wing wiping older brother still has his ’98 (we got them at the same time), along with a nice assortment of other toys. IIRC ours were date stamped in ’43/44, never issued. No clue how K Mart ended up with them, but back in the 60s there was all kinds of surplus military rifles for sale, cheap, everywhere. I remember as a very young lad in the ’50s local hardware stores and pawn shops had original WBTS and other 19th century firearms in barrels selling for as little as $5. Coupla 10 or more years ago American Legion Magazine was running ads for surplus, new and used, probably Russian captured, ’98s for $300. One ad had a full kit including cartridge belt, bayonet, scabbard, cleaning kit. I never pulled the trigger on ordering one, don’t like giving my cc info to somebody I don’t know.
Not sure what brother is gonna do with his when the time comes. His grown kids don’t show much interest and the grand kids couldn’t care less. Pity. My daughter has a list of what I have and what the value should be on a private sale. She also has a list of people that would buy them.
