So did you get arrested after your High School Reunion?

| November 12, 2009

Well, this dork did;

Burton’s charade was discovered after an actual Navy commander, Colleen Salonga, ran into Burton at their high school reunion. Online records indicate that Salonga and Burton graduated in 1988 from Alhambra High School in Martinez, California (and that their class’s 20th reunion was last October). Suspicious that Burton was playing dress up, Salonga asked to take a photo with him. That image, seen below, was later provided to FBI agents. A subsequent investigation turned up another photo of Burton in uniform as well as blog postings in which he recounted his “combat experience” and tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Here’s his picture;

When VTWoody sent me this picture yesterday, I said it reminded me of Peter griffin at his class reunion;

Thanks to Toothless Dawg and the others for sending me the link, too.

B Woodman

Is he legit? Or should he be turned over to the Feds for Stolen Valor? The pic is too blurry to see details. Can’t wait to see what Jonn digs up in the way of records & DD214, etc.

Old Tanker

Woodman,

Follow John’s first link, he’s turning himself in after the FBI got involved. He was a bank employee who never served a day in uniform…..makes it alot easier to get that billboard he’s wearing.

Old Tanker

Oooops, Sorry, I didn’t know you were talking about Peter Griffin 😉

USMC Steve

Apparently this turd is too lazy to do homework and research the fantasy role he laid out for himself either. Not even all that good an effort on his part.

Ben

What is that completely unauthorized button he’s wearing on his uniform?

Old Tanker

The girl next to him has one on, I’m guessing it’s their name tag with their senior picture on it……

NHSparky

At least it looks like he got the ribbons in the correct order. He’s an idiot, but who says they can’t learn? Then again, there’s enough “I was there” crap that no Marine could get in a 50-year career, let alone a 20-year one. And the other picture on line shows him as a Segeant Major. Oh, they’re gonna be loving him down at Pendleton.

Winter Soldier

why do fakes always have to trump up everything- never saw a fake cook or motorT guy, never would u just see someone with 2 good conduct awards or something; it has to be navy cross or other outlandish awards which are all traceable.

at my reunion im wearing only a minipin with my Cpl rank not even my Sgt rank why bother who would care. and why show up in full gala as a fake. people like him get all excited to tell their tale.. so sad that we have to wait for him to turn himself in. it would be nice to launch a house to house search in his area for him–hey maybe ‘Rick Duncan’ can lead the search?

NHSparky

Interesting. Captain’s bars, at that. Guess he can mix and match with Rick Duncan, eh?

UpNorth

So, was his title Sergeant Major Captain, or Captain Sergeant Major? What an ass!!! I’d bet that IVAW would welcome him with open arms.

USMC Chris

going off what Winter Soldier said. It’s so funny yet makes complete sense. If the dude just showed up wearing LCpl Chevrons, no one would question him. Tell everyone you were a combat cook, and that you served hot chow to all the grunts come in wearing just your normal standard issue medals, and no one would ever question you.

but at the same time, we all know why they don’t. goddamn geniuses, they are.

A Heros Friend

Someone help me out please…What was that thing called where there were two lines of people facing each other with sticks or whatever in their hands, and some poor sumbitch had to run down the middle of those two lnes, and if he made it ,he could go free? Let’s look into bringing that back,okay? That would solve a whbole lot of this crap…just sayin’

PDizzle

Wow. Certainly not one of Alhambra’s finest bulldogs.

NHSparky

AHF…like the gauntlet?

Mr Wolf

Heroe’s Friend- That was called a ‘gauntlet’; made famous by the Shawnee Indians (NATIVE AMERICANS!). Read a great book about it called ‘The Frontiersman’ by Allan W. Eckert. BEST book about frontiersmen and Indians ever. Simon Kenton and Tecumseh. You won’t be able to put it down…

Wolf

Mr Wolf

BTW, Kenton was the only white man recorded to have WALKED a gauntlet and lived. So shocked the natives that they barely even touched him.

Wolf

B Woodman

Ahhh, yes, the gauntlet. I’ve long advocated the return of that form of punishment for certain heinous crimes.

A Heros Friend

NHSparkey, MR.Wolf…Thats the one,thanks…and Wolf,I will be heading to the library later today to get the “The Frontiersman” Thank you all for your help…
