Ruger 10/22 Takedown

SHOOTING IN WAGONER COUNTY SENDS MAN TO HOSPITAL, AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING
A man was shot twice during what police believe to be a home invasion in Wagoner County.

By: News On 6, Jayden Brannon
WAGONER COUNTY, Okla. –
Deputies investigated what led to a man being shot on an elderly woman’s property in Wagoner County.

The shooting happened in the Whitehorn Cove area, about 11 miles north of Wagoner.

Sheriff Chris Elliott said the man who was shot is expected to survive, but said they were waiting to learn more about why the victim was on the property in the first place.

“Her cameras went off this morning, she looked into her cameras, looked out on her front porch and she saw an individual on her front porch that she’s never seen before and he’s wandering around out there,” Sheriff Elliott said.

The Sheriff said just after 6 in the morning, a 74-year-old woman who lives alone reported someone on the property who she didn’t know.

The Sheriff said she called her son-in-law who lives next door for help, who showed up to the house armed with a gun.

Deputies said the son-in-law confronted the man, there was an altercation and the son-in-law ended up shooting the man twice.

GPD: Galveston police shoot, kill knife-wielding man they say attacked a tree trimmer
The shooting is under investigation by an outside agency, which GPD said is standard procedure.

GALVESTON, Texas — A man who police say assaulted a tree trimmer in Galveston is dead after being shot by responding officers.

It happened at around 10 a.m. Saturday along Avenue P near Moody Avenue. Investigators said when officers got there, they saw the man with a knife, who had reportedly assaulted the tree trimmer.

At some point during the confrontation, officers fired their weapons at the suspect, hitting him. The suspect was taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where he later died.

At this point, the suspect hasn’t been identified. According to the Galveston Police Department, the shooting will be investigated by an outside agency, which is standard procedure.

We don’t know the condition of the tree trimmer. Galveston police said paramedics were already treating that person when officers got there.

This incident was the third deadly shooting involving officers in the Houston area within 24 hours.

KHOU!

Knives to gunfights and KHOU is there. Hope the tree trimmer is OK. Thanks, Gun Bunny.

Okay, I’m going to assume he attacked a PERSON who was trimming trees, and not an inanimate object that is used to trim trees that looks somewhat like a large scissors….

“This incident was the third deadly shooting involving officers in the Houston area within 24 hours.”

I’m confused. Galveston is a little over 50 miles from Houston and you have to travel through League City, Dickinson and Texas City to get there. When did Galveston become part of Houston?

Regardless, if the Texas Rangers are the agency to investigate the shooting, I’m sure they’ll consider it a legal one.

Tallywhagger

Yeah, what did Galveston ever do to deserve being likened with Houston?

Some very good examples of the FAFO theory. The little old ladies just outside the wire of Firebase Magnolia know that they can call on me anytime. I can cover all three (3) of their homes from the Overwatch “Buzzards Roost” position that provides not only cover, but also concealment.

Was Mr. Stabby wacky on some weed? Needing a little trim? Debated submitting for the SPoTW Thread. Dummies just won’t learn how teh stoopid it is to take a knife to a gunfight.

Mr. Rogers never met a man he wanted to argue with.

I don’t have a plinking type rifle, tho that 10/22 would be needed for squirrels and sech, come the fall. And no, I don’t mean autumn. Noticed that a Compatriot of mine has one in stock, at a very reasonable price. Hmmm

Side bar to Skivvy and Forest…Lots of butt winding and watch scratching goes on trying to decipher these articles. Henry Grady…weeps.

Chancre Mechanic appointment this morning in the Little Big Town. See y’all this afternoon. PLAY NICE!

MRS D has a 10/22 takedown, pink, of course. Even came with it’s own pretty pink backpack. It’s a serious little tack driver.

A serious railroad spike driver…

The third deadly shooting by HPD.
Good shootin’ there Tex !!!

I agree with Skeeter Skelton, if you can only have ONE GUN a .22 rifle is it. Gave my 39A to oldest grandson and regretted it ever since. Found an underpriced Savage A22 and bought it…meh.

10/22 TD ftw!

Via Steve Guest on twitter:

ATF Director Steven Dettelbach went on CBS’s Face The Nation & displayed a shocking ignorance of firearms while trying to gin up fear to strip us of our Second Amendment rights.

It should scare everyone that Dettelbach doesn’t know the difference between a clip & a magazine.

The ‘Special’ Agent couldn’t figure how to take apart a polymer80 (glock) and other poor weapons handling, no chamber flags…

Watch the whole embarrassing thing here!

As I have taken to saying a LOT lately…

FUCK THE FEDS.

If I were President, I would change the charter of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms to ensure that every law-abiding citizen had all the alcohol, tobacco, and firearms they wanted. The ATF should be a convenience store, not a law enforcement agency. Regardless, Mr. Dettelbach would get fired on day 1. He’s apparently not smart enough or competent enough to handle the most basic of menial tasks. I don’t think he’s capable of being a janitor, so to the streets he goes!

Sarge

Easy…clips go in women’s hair and magazines go on the coffee table.

At 18:50, Bettelbach beclowns himself even more by talking about “straw purchases”, yet the ATF has yet to be held accountable for its part in “Fast and Furious”.

Fuck that guy.

OK, so you started with a Henry the other day which I have and love and now you have the Ruger 10/22 takedown?!?

This was one of my second or third guns I bought, and I freaking can just drive tacks with it.

There are so many modifications you can make to this.
Here’s one site that I bought a bunch of stuff from, different, charging handles, and the like.
https://www.tacticalinc.com/catalog/category/774

I also bought a match grade bolt for it and a kit to have last round bolt hold open.

http://cstmtech.com/10-22bs2g/

The only problem with that is that the custom bolt and the last round bolt hold open kit other than factory made it somewhat sensitive.
And by that I mean, I bought 100 round drum for it, and the weight of the hundred round drum poles on the boat area such that it doesn’t feed terribly well when I didn’t have all the custom stuff on it it worked fine.
But the last bolt kit I can run 25 round magazines on it with no problem, so the hundred round drum is really a novelty.
I can easily replace that with a couple of 25 round magazines that are easier to load and I can just drain them bitches right down range.
PEW PEW PEW. 😃
