Man identified after ‘verbal altercation’ ends with deadly shooting in South Overton

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department on Thursday identified the man killed in a shooting in the South Overton neighborhood as 28-year-old Jonathan Villarreal.Child shot in the head; Texas police searching for leads in roadway shooting
Officers were called to the 2000 block of 15th Street just before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.LPD said it appeared Christopher Carter, 43, was conducting “rental property business” with a customer when Villarreal and another man entered. The two men then left the house but stayed on the property, LPD said.
“While they were outside, it appears, Carter and Villarreal were involved in a verbal altercation where Villarreal produced a firearm, at which time, Carter shot Villarreal,” a press release from LPD stated.

Man shot during apparent road rage incident in Philadelphia’s Juniata Park section

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A man is hospitalized in critical condition after gunfire erupted during an apparent road rage incident on Thursday afternoon in the Juniata Park section of Philadelphia.It happened around 2:34 p.m. in the 3600 block of North G Street.
Police tell Action News there was a dispute between the 19-year-old driver of a Honda and the 38-year-old driver of a gray Ford.
Investigators say the driver of the Honda pointed a gun at the Ford driver. The Ford driver then pulled out a gun and opened fire.
The Honda driver was shot in the head, chest, arm and back. He left the area after the shooting but was later found on E. Westmoreland Street in the Kensington section.
