You would think I would run out of material
Not gonna happen. Not under the current system of two supposedly separate parties. But today we’re just gonna look at the current administration…the one that doesn’t care which party holds the White House or Congress.
Treasury is being investigated by a Senate committee for asking banks to provide details on certain keyword transactions in the wake of January 6.
The House Judiciary Committee also obtained documents revealing that FinCEN warned financial institutions that an “extremism indicator” could be “the purchase of books (including religious texts),” like the Bible, and subscriptions to certain media “containing extremist views.”
After all, we know any religion other than wokethink is wrongthink, right?
Apparently other key words were flagged, like “MAGA”. My favorite was, besides targetting Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s, Dick’s sporting Goods was also on the list. Didn’t they notice that several years ago Dick’s famously climbed onto the anti-gun bandwagon, contributes to their cause, and their web site doesn’t even allow you to ORDER guns? I guess they were afraid a Dick’s customer could order one of them assault fly rods?
The top Republican on the Senate Banking Committee is demanding answers from the Treasury Department and its financial crimes enforcement division after revelations the agencies urged private financial institutions to “surveil” private transactions using “politically charged search terms” to flag customer profiles to federal law enforcement.
Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., penned a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and FinCEN Director Andrea Gacki on Friday after Fox News Digital exclusively reported that the agency suggested in January 2021 that banks use specific search terms to query transactions, including “MAGA,” “Trump,” “Biden” and more, along with merchant codes from specific sporting goods stores. Fox News
Wonder if they looked for keyword “Brandon”?
Next up is the Supreme Court getting to set to rule on the Chevron decision. Back in 1984 (how apropos.) Chevron essentially ruled that when there was:
“a legal theory established in the ’80s that says anytime a federal regulation is challenged, the courts should defer to the agency’s interpretation of whether Congress granted them authority to issue the rule.”
It is the bedrock of much of the agency overreach of the last 40 years. Think EPA deciding a tiny fish was more important than people, the ATFtrying to redefine steel ingots as guns, or any other agency overreach you can name – Chevron is probably what allowed it.
On Wednesday morning, the high court heard a set of two cases stemming from lawsuits brought by New Jersey fishermen and herring fishermen from Rhode Island who argued that a regulation issued by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) requiring them to pay $700 a day for an “at-sea monitor” is out of the bounds Congress set for the federal agency. Fox News II
So in this case fishermen were required to abide by rules. So far, so good. Then they had to allow observers to monitor them – getting a little dicey. AND PAY FOR THEM. The article cites $700 a day as their pay – knowing that fishing is not a 8-hour-and-done job, that works out at say, 10 hours a day, to $70/hour – about what many of these fishing boats earn. Me, I think you want an observer, pay for him yourself or go pound sand. But really, how this wasn’t struck down years ago (say, on 3rd Amendment grounds) is beyond me.

If the courts don’t stop their over reaching rules you will have a emissions monitoring system attach to your personal tailpipe.
Don’t worry about the Federal Government arresting you for your banking institution transactions. There were hundreds of Suspicious Activity Reports filed on Hunter Biden, and he is still walking free.
Rules apply for Republicans only
it’s hard for me to believe this is now becoming a issue
the Republicans have known about this for years now
Not only is he walking around free but nobody’s even talking about prosecuting him for anything, s*** maybe a little bit of tax evasion.
I thought our new Speaker of the House was gonna be a real go-getter.
Seems to be just more of the same!
The Swamp is real! If Trump did nothing else and even if you hate him, HE did expose it.
See? Equal justice under the law is at work!
Don’t use credit cards, pay with cash. I don’t know how to get around it when ordering online. Does the same go with checks????
I haven’t been in a Dirty Dick’s since it went to the dark side. Not likely to ever return .
Dec 2012, the great AR15 renig.
That was about the time of my last visit too. They were running a sale on 5.56. The guy at the counter would only sell me two boxes. Then he told me they were probably going to get rid of it because it was only good for shooting up schools. I told him he could keep it because I didn’t need to shoot up any schools. And then I never went back.
Academy Sports, so much better. Way cheaper on everything too. I can’t see a single reason to spend $50 on a camouflage t-shirt, unless you were just brain dead.
Same here Steve
FWIW the Dick’s in my neck of the woods doesn’t even carry any hunting or fishing gear, much less firearms & ammo.
Same here.
Don’t be Dicks.
I saw the story about fishing monitors somewhere else. Someone in the comments said it is likely the monitors would fall overboard and sink.
I think I’ll start writing “MAGA” and “Trump” on the bottom line when I pay my bills with checks.
Fuckers are blissfully unaware to the consequences of liberty’s injury.
I readily request, without trepidation (and a certain type of glee): make that otherwise-peaceful freeman a criminal.
Men better than me said it better than I could ever. Mister H? Sing it loud for the vermin who’d dare to rule us:
I guess my family and I are at the top of that list. We’re rural Americans that live an outdoor lifestyle that includes all that you would think that go with that. We also go to church on Sunday and live a Christian life (my wife and sons are WAY better at it than I am). About half of our purchases would “throw red flags” for this idiocracy.
***Checks note pad***
Yep, you’re on the list, Blaster.
You’re in good company, Blaster…Welcome Home.
“Return out of material…”
Bwaaahahahahahahahahahahagasphahahahastopyakillinme

Crazy thing is that I thought that I typed this post and thought that i posted it, then I didn’t see it, so I did it again. Now, there are 2 of them. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Now you’re on the list twice.
So, he is on Double Secret Probation?
😂😂
They will never stop in their crusades for as much control over peoples’ lives as they can get, let’s not forget about how during the “Blowjob Willie” years when they tried to give OSHA inspectors the authority to go into people’s homes saying that work-from-home gave them the authority to do so!
