Remember when Harry Truman famously said about Richard Nixon that he lied so much, if he caught himself telling the truth he’s have to tell a lie real fast just to get back in step? We have a few folks today in the same club.
First up, Kamala Harris. I know, what a shock.

Gun violence is the leading cause of death of our children.”
So many lies in so little time. First of all, that is only true if you define “children” as up to 20 years old. So do we have a child military? 18 and 19 year olds can vote, sign contracts, do lots of adult things. Now, personally, I’m all over making the age of majority 21 across the country – I’d even support limiting full driver’s licensing to age 21 and up to limit teen driving, but that’s just too pragmatic. Oh, and note she is describing gun deaths as a “form of disease.”

Our governmental disease control exemplified by the CDC and NIH have already taken a hell of a beating during the COVID problems… turned out when they said “follow the science” meant anything but, right? So now let’s make a nonsensical connection to try and make gang-bangers and drug dealers a “public health” problem?
For icing on the cake, she and the anti-gun crowd define suicide as ‘gun violence’ and lump suicides into the crime stats. Just a quick fyi – if they didn’t concatenate suicides in, our homicide numbers fall to around 20,000 more or less annually. Now compare that to a population of 330,000,000.
Moving to California, remember when we mentioned SB 14 a while back, making child sex trafficking a serious felony? Seems the state Democrats are objecting to the cost of incarcerating the sex offenders, as the current cost of imprisonment in California is $128,000
Existing laws call for sentencing a convicted sex trafficker for between eight and 20 years. The serious felony category lengthens sentences for repeat offenses, a doubling of a second offense and a sentence of 25 years to life for third offenses. Judicial discretion and other sentencing credits can reduce prison stays. The bottom line is that the serious felony category would keep repeat offenders incarcerated longer.
Citing the growing cost of incarceration and its limited utility in deterring crime, Appropriations Committee Chairman Chris Holden, D-Pasadena, placed SB 14 on “suspense” because of its cost, despite testimony that every victim recovered costs the state about $300,000. In the Democrat calculus, keeping people out of jail able to re-offend is cheaper than losing $300,000 per victim. Huh?

Its called ‘Lying by Omission’: also known as a continuing misrepresentation or quote mining, occurs when an important fact is left out in order to foster a misconception. Lying by omission includes the failure to correct pre-existing misconceptions.
Politicians do it as a reflex, but Democrats do it as a matter of necessity.
There is a simple answer for the growing cost of incarceration.
And some of the methods are quite painless.
And quick.
Helicopter rides are impractically expensive, at least until we get crime back under control.
We do, however, have an impressive fleet of C-17s, C-5s, and C-130s, all capable of rapid unloading while in flight.
Tethered hot air balloons are cheap to operate, low maintenance, very low carbon footprint. If it’s made of silk, it’s even organic. Toggle the “payload” remotely.
Another plus is their greater payload…

Simple solution to the cost of incarcerating (child) sex traffickers…..
Caught, tried, convicted, five minutes later, taken out back and executed.
Cost of a rope? Amortized over time and number hanged, to basically $ zero.
Cost of a boolit? Anywhere from 30 cents to $5 (depending on caliber and number used)
Cost of electricity? Nah. Wouldn’t trust it in Kali, too unreliable.
Could even charge admission, or record and play on PPV, maybe turn a small profit

Um, seems to me that being incarcerated would be a great deterrent to committing crime. Or at least committing crimes upon the general public. They can commit crimes upon other incarcerated people, but that’s of…um…limited…concern to me.
We found that out in Michigan. If the career criminals are locked up, eventually the only criminals left on the streets are the amateurs, Easy to pick out, easy to ID, easy to arrest.
Then, the dems convinced everyone to vote for Eric Holder’s “fair” redistricting laws, and we end up stuck with Gretch the Wretch and the dems took over the State House, Senate and Michigan Supreme Court. We’re still headed in the entirely wrong direction.

How many of these 18-20 YO children met Jesus in person while commiting felonies? In fact we are probably looking at about 10-15 percent of the total in the FAFO category, if not more. They still get reported as Homicides because they are.
More importantly the murder rate in the US has doubled since 2015. That is really odd. I wonder what might be causing that? Did something weird start happening in 2016? Media shows as much interest in that as they do in Hunter Biden’s laptop.
The PDRC could drastically cut the cost of incarceration by setting up tent cities using surplus GP tents and cots, ceasing the issue of skivvies and issuing pink jumpsuits, running two meals per day, and requiring inmates to work 5 days a week.

The idea of incarceration as a deterrent works quite well when the incarceration is for punishment, not rehabilitation. Make prison unpleasant again
Rather difficult to claim “cruel or unusual” if conditions are similar to a basic training field exercise.
Put them to work planting trees, controling erosion, cutting firebreaks, and picking trash. Reactivate the old “conservation corps” idea
The structure and the overcoming of hardship might actually help reform those that are salvageable. The incorrigible will get better at forestry work.

Places like California and Canada (and anywhere else prone to wildland and forest fires) could use the labor for land management – to prevent future fires.
I recall a 60 Minutes interview with Arpaio. He was asked about his low recidivism rate, and did he think his former guests had stopped being criminals. His response was along the lines of “I don’t know if they’ve stopped being criminals. What I know is they’re no longer criminals in Maricopa County, and that’s good enough”.

It’s not “gun violence” when oppressed minorities and/or criminals do it– law-abiding people must be disarmed and punished for self-defense so “social justice” and miserable poverty can be imposed on them for the Great Reset… er, “greater good”… comrade!
We have a lot of issues here in the US, but in my opinion, guns are more of a solution than a problem. I’m nothing special physically. The fact that I can legally own–and carry–a firearm is what puts me on equal terms with criminals who illegally possess and carry firearms. I could be overpowered, outnumbered, or even just outmatched if unarmed, but the fact that I carry ensures that I at least have a chance. Training is what puts us at an advantage over the criminal element, who think of guns as some magical bullet dispenser that will strike fear in the heart of anyone they wish to victimize. If we allow the government to remove our right to self-defense, we are doing a disservice not only to ourselves, but our children and grandchildren.
Simple methematics show that substance abuse is one of the biggest issues we have. The War on Drugs was pretty much lost, so let’s just legalize everything and declare a War on Guns. That’ll work out, as tweakers decide to break into your house after that catalytic converter they stole last week was scrapped and they need another fix. Personally, I like the fact that I sit comfortably in my home with a Glock 45 and Ruger LCP Max next to me, and with one or two other guns [allegedly] spread around the house. My brother and a friend have methed around and found out on multiple occasions, fortunately just seeing some jail or prison time. I’m waiting for the day when they meth with the wrong person–a legally armed person. Unfortunate for me knowing them, but make poor choices and random VG commenter makes sh*t comments. 😉
