Rodriguez, who answered his digital doorbell and home security camera on his phone, said the suspect, identified as Aaron Contreras, 30, said he was a maintenance worker who was there to check the filter to the air conditioner, according to an affidavit obtained by FOX Dallas.
Rodriguez is heard on the video telling Contreras he wasn’t home. Contreras, who was armed with a handgun, came back a few minutes later with a masked man, police said. Video footage taken from the doorbell camera shows both men taking turns trying to kick in the door.
At some point, Rodriguez grabbed his handgun and fired several shots through his front door.

Authorities shoot, kill murder suspect after standoff in Riverview
RIVERVIEW, Fla. — One suspect is dead and another suspect is in custody after law enforcement attempted to apprehend them during a traffic stop in Riverview on Tuesday.
Tampa Police officers and a Polk County Sheriff’s deputy, working as members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, were involved in the shooting that took place at the Palms at Magnolia Park, when they attempted to serve a warrant on a “wanted, dangerous suspect,” according to officials with Tampa Police.
Officials said that just before 10 a.m., the U.S. Marshals Task Force was serving a court-authorized arrest warrant on a suspect who is a known member of the Latin Kings with an extensive criminal history, including robbery, aggravated assault and rape.
The suspect was also the primary suspect in a 2009 homicide out of New York, according to Tampa Police, and was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender.
Through investigations, officials determined that the suspect, Don Robert Astor, 39, was in the area, and U.S. Marshals observed the suspect in the passenger seat of a blue Acura RDX.
Officials with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said that while attempting to serve the warrant and conduct a vehicle stop, the driver, Angel Torres Vallejo, 19, backed into a Polk County Sheriff’s deputy’s car in an attempt to elude, and Astor then reached over the driver and fired his gun at the officers.

Graphic.
Thanks to our own Gun Bunny and Old Tanker for today’s links.
Germans who wish to use firearms should join the SS or the SA – ordinary citizens don’t need guns, as their having guns doesn’t serve the State.

Old boy will need the maintenance crew to repair a door and a wall…and possibly housekeeping to clean up the trail the perps left when they beat feet.
One (1) less piece of trash in my Baby Girl’s AO.
Dumbass shoulda just dropped the effing gun.
The state is supposed to serve the ordinary citizen.
“(originally in Connecticut, but now in South Carolina).” WSB I’d like to extend that invitation to other, like minded Patriotic, Constitutionalists Nutmeggers for a hearty Welcome South Brother. Bring your steady habits and provisions You may want to head a little bit more in a West South West Heading, it’s real Peachy down heah.
I was wondering how that whole SA thing worked out.
Level raised and Lady Smith is within reach V within purse. Thanks!
RE the home invasion. The resident had them on camera. It was pretty obvious where the morons were while kicking the door. If yer gonna mag dump, at least hit one of the bad guys.
On the other side of the coin, the rounds all penetrated a metal door and then impacted the neighbor’s wall. Impressive performance of the rounds. I hope none went inside the neighbors place.
When the nice policeman is looking at you over the sights of an AR from 10 feet away, it would be a good idea to do what he says. Damn fast trigger finger on him. Pretty much sounded like full auto.
True
Ummm…..Jeff….No…..My gunz protect my books. No problem.
And my gunz are well trained, they NEVER attack anyone on their own, they only obey my “hand” signals (i.e., finger on the trigger)
Poor Jeff, he just don’t understand the problem.
I love it when the trash attempts to take itself out, even when it fails.

Do we want to add this to T2NB2AGF? The perp didn’t use it against the po-po. And the po-po didn’t draw their gunz (I don’t think so, anyway)
The homeowner shooting thru the door is a bad shoot.
Even though the perp had a gun in hand, the homeowner was safe behind his metal door.
Better to post up in an inside door and shoot them when they break the door and enter the fatal funnel.
Shooting through closed the door it was only good luck that the neighbors were not killed
