BoA, flag this
Our new friend ALa at blonde sagacity writes about a homecoming for LCpl Christopher Fowlkes who lost his life in Afghanistan.
It seems everyone is Gaffney [SC] was proud to honor this fallen Marine. Everyone except Bank of America.
The Gaffney branch manager of Bank of AMERICA personally removed all flags and stated that they “violated company policy” and that customers could be offended by the flags. She said that the BANK had a policy against the flying of ANY flag –even the AMERICAN flag. Even though they are bank of AMERICA and apparently even though they had no problem taking 45 BILLION dollars in federal bail out money.
Here’s the story from Fox News by Megyn Kelly who interviews Brenda Earle, an eyewitness, who has closed her account at BoA in response to their callous actions that day;
And here’s a video of the actual homecoming through Gaffney, SC (turn your speakers down).

Isn’t BoA the same bank that was helping Illegal Aliens secure home loans?
Ah damn, I probably just ended up on Hatewatch.
Well people of Gaffney you know what you can do, capitalism still exists so take your money out of bank of America and put it in local bank that will help your community and have no bailout ties to the government.
TSO; too late, I already got us listed for being xenophobes and nativists with this post last year.
I’d love to say what’s on my mind regarding BoA, but I don’t want to get banned here.
Thus, my clean comment. 🙁
Does it help any to know that it is “Bank of Italy” renamed in WW II because the locals were upset about Fascism then, too?
LMAO I don’t know which one is worse… THIS or when BOA refused to cash a check because a man with PROSTHETIC ARMS couldn’t provide a fingerprint.
Just FYI, Tommy Franks was on their Board of Directors for about 4 years. He resigned because of his involvement in the Merrill Lynch fiasco, and I think he was just subpoenaed regarding the issue.
What is particularly galling is that up until last January, Bank of America was the official Government Travel Card for the Federal Government. Want to guess what appeared on all of the cards and the bills? The American flag of course. I couldn’t write this stuff if I tried.
And what exactly is the BofA’s symbol based on?

yep this just sux. we closed our accounts this afternoon with the bloated and feckless BofA which was no easy feat because we had been with them for 20 years and had multiple accounts. we just couldn’t take it anymore.
but it was a lot easier then what LCpl Fowlkes’ family and friends had to put up with in Gaffney.
Small town banking is important to the communities that they serve. Too big to fail banks are just a drain on everything they get involved in. Supporting banks that actually reinvest in your community are especially important out here in rural Kansas. These small town banks are now being asked to increase their fees to the FDIC because of bank failures. Why is this important? because ranchers and farmers are dependent on loans from these banks to plant the crops and raise the livestock to feed the world.
As pissed off as I am about what happened, we should not forget that the local bank manager is the asshat here.
BOA also runs the Community bank for the millitary overseas.

I spoke to the local branch manager today here in Germany & she was shocked.
