A Kentucky homeowner shot an intruder three times when the suspect allegedly broke into the home with a chainsaw early Sunday morning, according to the local sheriff’s office.An unnamed male homeowner in Stanford, Kentucky, was awoken Sunday by the sound of breaking glass, Sgt. Michael Mullins of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office told The Interior Journal. There were four occupants in the home at the time of the incident, including a married couple and two children.
“It was this male subject that was coming through their back door, that was a full glass door, with a chainsaw in his hand,” Mullins told the local outlet.
The resident fired off four shots at the intruder, according to Mullins, striking the man three times.

A homeowner shot and killed a man who was trying to break into his storage building, police say.
The Winston-Salem Police Department responded to 4000 block of White Rock Road in regard to a shooting early Tuesday morning. The caller told police the homeowner shot an intruder.
When officers arrived, they found Christopher Peche in the backyard of the home with a gunshot wound. Peche died from his injuries, despite lifesaving measures.
Investigators said the homeowners woke up just before 4:30 a.m. to someone on their property approaching their back door. The homeowner armed himself and went outside to check his property.
According to police, the homeowner heard a loud noise coming from the direction of the storage building, where he found someone trying to break in. He confronted the intruder, identified as Peche, and during the confrontation, shot him.
