City Council Fires HR for Pride Flag Display
A Michigan town council recently passed a law allowing the display of only official flags on public buildings and banning any others. The local LGBTQ+ community took this as a personal affront, and two members of the Hamtramck Human Relations Commission decided to test the council’s resolve.

The all-Muslim city council in Hamtramck, Michigan, has fired two human relations commissioners after they flew the LGBTQ pride flag on public property in violation of a recent law banning such flags.
As Breitbart News reported in June, the all-Muslim city council “voted unanimously on Tuesday to approve a resolution that would ban the LGBTQ+ Pride flag from being flown on the city’s public property.” The report said:
The resolution, proposed by Mayor Pro-Tem Muhammad Hassan, also bars any religious, ethnic, racial, political, or sexual orientation group flags from being flown on city property and only allows the American flag to be flown, along with state and city flags, other national flags, and the Prisoner of War flag.
The law did not specifically single out LGBTQ community members, with Hasan and the city council even saying that such people are wholly welcome in the city of Hamtramck, which had primarily been run by Polish Catholics until recent years.
Less than a month after initiating the ban, Russ Gordon and Cathy Stackpoole were removed from the Hamtramck Human Relations Commission after they flew the LGBTQ pride flag over a public sidewalk for several hours.

The city council voted to remove Gordon and Stackpoole by a unanimous vote on Tuesday.
The measure, called a “Resolution to Maintain and Confirm the Neutrality Of the City of Hamtramck Towards Its Residents,” of course only pertains to the flags on city property. Council members passed the measure after heated debate in a packed city conference room. Some saw the resolution as an attack on the LGBTQ+ community, of course. Progressives reacted to the procedure with all the grace and humility we’ve come to expect.
One woman, wearing a clown nose, sarcastically said Hamtramck should change its slogan to say the city “welcomes you if you’re straight,” before she kissed a woman standing next to her.
Charming. As a big dumb Polack I applaud the Hamtramck City Council’s eminently sensible law and am impressed with their directness in enforcing it. The epic backlash from proggies will be coming along any time now.
