Customer grazed by bullet during shootout between robber and 7-Eleven cashier
by Kristina De Leon
A robbery suspect is on the run after trying to hold up a convenience store cashier. But he was in for a surprise when the cashier pulled out his own gun!Police tell us a customer was grazed in the gunfire during this failed robbery attempt.
This all happened just after midnight Friday on San Pedro near West Laurel just north of Downtown. Police were called to the 7-Eleven for a robbery.
Police tell us a man walked into the store, pulled out a gun on the cashier, and demanded money. That’s when the cashier pulled out his own gun and the two exchanged gunfire inside the store. A customer was grazed by a bullet but refused treatment..

Props out to Laurie for even being nosy enough to drive around at 4am to give us such critical insights. 🙂
In my (unfortunate) state of residence, NY, the shooter would likely have his butt locked up – I forget the exact term – unlawful use of “deadly physical force.” The shooter has to be able to express that he felt his life or that of a third person was in imminent danger. Doesn’t sound like it in this case.
I much prefer a model 1897 or model 12 to most modern shotguns.
I bought an 870 back in the mid-70s and like it a lot. Got a Hastings rifled barrel for whitetail hunting in areas of NY that ban rifles. With an Aimpoint, it’s pretty damn accurate.
Gotta love the “poor victim selection skilz” perps. 0400 hrs and I’m asleep in my domain, whether it be house, vehicle, or tent, I’m not gonna check to see if the intruder has a weapon before I start shooting. “I was in fear for my life, I will make a statement, I want my lawer.”
#2 is why I carry…concealed…every.where.I.go!
My Mossy (that I had, damn a leaky boat!) might not of been my FIRST go to for shoring up that north way, but if you want to fly into the danger zone of the domicile, Mr. Maverick will put your azz on ice, man.
Why is that shore ’nuff gorgeous, black haired beauty, leggy Ms Thang laffing? ChipNASA just asked her for a date!
Boom sticks and beauties…Proof that our Beloved AW1Ed loves us and wants us to be happy!
Nah… Ms Thang ain’t laffing at ChipNASA.
She’s laffing for happy from shooting that wunnerful firearm (whatever it is. can’t tell if it’s something German WWII, or ComBlock).
AR action, small drum mag, maybe pistol caliber?
I was looking at the cone shape of the drum…….
Not exactly the shape I was looking at…

“….refused treatment.”
The customer now has a scar for street cred.
The 18y.o. should be thankful that she was taken to the hospital instead of the morgue.
But really? Who goes around at 4am “checking” to see if cars are unlocked (or not) that isn’t trying to break into them?
Loves my 88! I have the 8 Shot Security model, stock was way long so it got replaced by an M-4 style stock. Perfect fit for me or MRS D. $195 at Big 5 a few years back.
Mossy Maverick 88 is good shotty for a low-budget retiree like me. Runs smoothly.
I’m not much of a snob – if the firearm eats what I feed it, runs reliably, and puts the projectile(s) where I want ’em to go then I’m happy.
But it’s not a bird gun (clay or otherwise) – no question. I’d want a nice little over-under for that.
That 18-year-young female better learn her lesson, but dollars to donuts she’ll be out looking for more drug money later.
