HPD: Man dead, woman critically injured after getting shot during apartment break-in
Houston police said the shooting happened at an apartment complex on Richmond Avenue just outside the Beltway.

HOUSTON — One person was killed and another person was critically injured in a shooting Saturday in Westchase, according to Houston police.Police said a man and woman kicked in the door to an apartment on the third floor of the Westchase Forest complex along Richmond Avenue just outside the Beltway. When they got in, two people who were inside the apartment opened fire. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

A male and female were in a parking lot when they were approached by an unknown male offender who produced a handgun and fired shots at both victims. The offender dropped the handgun and the male victim picked it up and fired at the offender one time. The male victim, 30 sustained a gunshot wound to the right thigh and was transported to U of C hospital in good condition. The female victim, 52 sustained a gunshot wound to the left shin and was transported to Christ hospital in good condition. The male offender, 27 sustained a gunshot wound to the right glute and was transported to U of C hospital in critical condition. Area two detectives continue to investigate the incident.
