Rules for us but not for them, more on Hunter Biden’s dodging the DOJ’s crosshairs
In addition to dodging serious accountability for firearm related charges, Hunter Biden benefited from the DOJ’s providing headwinds against tax related investigations on him. A couple of IRS whistleblowers informed Congress that the Department of Justice buried evidence related to Hunter Biden’s tax crimes. David Weiss tried to bring up charges in a couple of locations. He was prevented from doing so both times. Additionally, Hunter’s lawyers were informed of the probable cause to search a storage unit that Hunter Biden had access to. This move potentially gave Hunter Biden an opportunity to move the documents.

The whistleblowers said that the IRS was notified of potential evidence “in the guest house of former Vice President Biden,” but were told “by U.S. attorney Lesley Wolf that because the evidence would be found in the guest house of former Vice President Biden ‘there is no way’ a search warrant for evidence would ever get approved.”
Smith said that the whistleblowers indicated that Hunter Biden’s lawyers were also notified that the IRS had probable cause to search a storage unit associated with the first son, which would give Hunter Biden the opportunity to potential remove materials from the location.
“Whistleblowers describe how the Biden Justice Department intervened and overstepped in a campaign to protect the son of Joe Biden by delaying, divulging, and denying an ongoing investigation into Hunter Biden’s alleged tax crimes,” Smith said in a statement. “The testimony shows tactics used by the Justice Department to delay the investigation long enough to reach the statute of limitations, evidence they divulged sensitive actions by the investigative team to Biden’s attorneys, and denied requests by the U.S. Attorney to bring charges against Biden.”
Smith said that the IRS whistleblowers “were retaliated against, despite a commitment IRS Commissioner Werfel made before the Ways and Means Committee to uphold their legal protections.”

So, serious question here:
Now that they have set the precedent with the President’s son, will others (nobody’s) be able to use this in their defense? I’m am not an attorney (I did spend the night at a Holiday Inn Express last night), but it seems that they may have created more of a long lasting problem than just letting the entitled, rich, spoiled, brat of a son of a career grifter politician off with a slap on the wrist.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see each and every individual currently in jail as a prohibited possessor filing an appeal on their sentencing. Better call Saul!

Disbarment from the use of Arms is an affront to a law greater than ours.
I’m no lawyer either, but I would think that this could be argued as case law. Prohibited persons are historically prosecuted to the fullest extent. In fact, it was Hunter’s Daddy that drafted the 1994 Crime Bill, which contained the AWB that got me in a little trouble by proxy and declared a whole category of firearms illegal overnight. Fortunately, the politicians back then had the foresight to set a 10-year expiration. It wasn’t renewed in ’04, so you can bet the next AWB will be permanent if the Dems can help it.
Back to case law. It would be an uphill battle, but if someone wishes to fight it in the courts and SCOTUS makes a ruling, Hunter’s plea bargain could mark the end of harsh sentences for prohibited persons. After all, they come in all flavors, and a drug-addled son of a president would probably have less need for a gun than, say, a former gang member who did his time, moved on, but still lives in the ‘hood and has enemies.

Or, even tho the military knew the fucking thing imploded, delay the release of that info long enough to distract from this treasonous piece of fucking shit regime with a search for a submersible toy.
At some point, someone must act rationally to protect the system from this regime’s subversion and corruption. I agree to a point. I too would love to watch them squirm, but I would just like to see AGs and the DOJ do their jobs. Enforcement of the law regardless of who the criminal is or what side they are on. Equally, just like they would if I were the one to break the law.
