Bud Light is still dealing with the backlash
Bud Light appears to continue to be dealing with the backlash against it. Boycotts usually blow over in a short period of time, but the one against Bud Light appears to buck the normal trend. Anheuser-Busch’s parent company is keeping a low media profile while also offering discounts to retailers. The commercial summer season is almost here, and beer demand will go up with it. Could Bud Light recover in time to benefit from this pending increase in demand?
From Fox News:
Schuhmacher feels that Anheuser-Busch’s parent company, InBev, has kept a low profile during the weeks-long saga wile hoping it “blows over” while simultaneously increasing the marketing budget and offering heavy discounts at retail.
“Their experience tells them that you don’t want to add to the conversation and add to the noise, because then it just repeats the news cycle,” he said. “Boycotts like this usually do blow over… fairly quickly, within a couple of weeks or so. So, this is really unusual to go into two months.”
Schuhmacher, who has worked in the beer industry for over three decades in multiple positions and has published Beer Business Daily for 20 years, believes backlash will eventually die down, and Bud Light will stay on top despite long-lasting scars.
“I think there is probably a degree of permanent damage to the brand. But in the long term, things usually revert back to the mean,” he said.
The appetite for news and analysis of the Bud Light debacle is still strong, and Beer Business Daily, a niche publication which focuses on the North American commercial beer industry, has exploded in popularity.
“We haven’t really seen it since 2008 when Miller bought Coors, or they merged and InBev bought Anheuser-Busch. So, yeah, there’s tremendous interest in this and our traffic on our website is blowing up,” Schuhmacher said. “It’s a story that just won’t die.”

OK I’ll start….well Butt Lights.
Here’s a mesage to you and all like you that decide to pander to micro aggravations \that you think are important.
June and alphabet mopnth are just around the corner. Let’s see how many don’t learn this lesson.
Intelligent Evil uses fallen humans to push pride in sodomy, that’s really stinky.
But God does win in the end, the right End!
Yes He will.
The Evil One is guaranteed a spot in the Lake of Fire.
What some forget, it that the Lake of Fire was created for the devil and his angels:
God didn’t make Hell for people. He’d rather we not go there, but won’t stop us if we insist. Our job is to make it as hard as we can for folks to go to Hell.
For Those Of Us Who Were Part Of The Jesus Movement In The 70s:
A Classic Featuring Randy Stonehill…With Lyrics.
“Puppet Strings”.
Still True To This Day.
https://youtu.be/qcjJWJeESy4
3 songs stick out for me from that era, Byrds “Jesus is just alright”, Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord” and “Spirit in the Sky” by Norman Greenbaum.
A long and strange journey that continues!
Thank You for sharing, AZ Robert!
“Jesus Is Just Alright With Me” was performed by The Doobie Brothers.
George Harrison’s song “My Sweet Lord” was about the Hindu god Krishna.
“Spirit In The Sky” came out in 1969.
1970 Jesus Music performers were Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, Second Chapter Of Acts, Phil Keaggy, Barry McGuire, Andre Crouch, Dallas Holmes, Honeytree, Malcolm and Alwyn. David Meece, Ken Medema, Randy Matthews, Sweet Comfort Band…just to name a few.
Graybeard knows what we are talking about…😊
That list is only the beginning. The 80s and 90s brought alot of Christian musicians that our children got to listen…Michael W. Smith, Whiteheart, Degarmo and Key, Mylon Lefevare and Broken Heart, Petra, Russ Taff, Steven Curtis Chapman, DC Talk, Amy Grant, Stryper, Bryan Duncan, Leslie Phillips..so many..
The same with 2000 decade, 2010 decade and now this decade.
The message is always the same.
BTW, AZRobert:
You were correct about the Byrds performing “Jesus Is Just Alright With Me”.
They released that song in 1969. The Doobie Brothers released their version in 1972 and is more widely known than the Byrds’ version.
DC Talk released their version in 1992.
While we are on the 60’s music,
RIP Tina Turna who we just lost.
Yes.
Please scroll to the bottom of this post where I posted about her as well as a clip from The Ed Sullivan Show where she is performing “Proud Mary”.
For f*&ks sakes !!!
Next time, SPEW ALERT !!!
You misspelled “Butt”
😉😎
Heavy discounts? Not if my local Walmart is any indication.
Well….
This is interesting…Free Beer for Memorial Day Weekend?
“Bud Light Is Pretty Much Giving Beer Away Memorial Day Weekend After Dylan Mulvaney Disaster”
https://nypost.com/2023/05/23/bud-light-giving-away-free-beer-for-memorial-day-following-dylan-mulvaney-disaster/
“Bud Light is offering generous rebates for Memorial Day that in some cases amount to free beer as Anheuser-Busch continues its scramble to recover from the Dylan Mulvaney controversy.”
“Now through May 31, Bud Light is advertising a “summer rebate” to “make your Memorial Day weekend easier to enjoy” where customers who purchase a 15-pack or larger of Bud Light, Budweiser, Budweiser Select or Budweiser Select 55 will receive a $15 rebate.”
“For reference, a 15-pack of Bud Light is listed for $12.99 on Target’s website, the same price as a 15-pack of Budweiser.”
“The rebate will be paid via a digital prepaid card, according to Bud Light’s site. Customers must provide a proof of purchase — an image of the case’s barcode and of their receipt — to get the prepaid card mailed to their home address.”
“Up to two rebate submissions can me made through the end of the month: one between May 17 and May 23, and another between May 24 and May 31, according to the terms and conditions.”
Do dudes use coupons?
Yep…😉😎

To hurt Buttwiper from another angle would be to purchase the beer, take a picture of the barcode, then return the beer for a refund…but keep the sales receipt. Send back to them as prescribed and get the $15 prepaid card sent to you so you can purchase a decent beer.
Rinse and repeat as often as necessary.
Can’t return beer, against federal food handling rules. Better off to give it to the local chapter of dirty homeless bunboi hippies congregating in an area near pretty much all over the United States.
Both Wokemart and Target in my area have taken to stacking pallets of Butt Light at the entrances of their stores, and coolers remain full and largely untouched. Doesn’t seem to be taking any effect.
Forest:
We noticed the same thing at our local grocery stores!!
We laughed when we walk in….and point…😉😎
Same out here in the great NW.
On sale for $3.49/case and still no takers for Memorial Day weekend:

Any Takers?
😆😅🤣😂
Alissa Shinyheiny (or whatever, maturity isn’t my strong suit) really brought the pain to AB. “Great idea! We give a marketing company permission to put a controversial person on a can in celebration of this 26-year-old man’s ‘365 Days of Girlhood’. I’ll do my part by going on social media to insult beer drinkers and express my thoughts on our target audience.”
This shows a few things:
1) Know the consumer. As a long-time beer drinker, I want something cold, easy to drink, and easier to consume and buy in quantity. Humorous advertisements, bar art that appeals to me as a heterosexual man, and the occasional cool-looking can or bottle is welcomed. Miller High Life had their vintage-themed bottles years ago. I bought more than a few six-packs. AB is a big company. If they want to jump on the LBGTQ+-8===D train, let them. Keep that stuff quiet and marketed towards certain bars and maybe the younger and more “tolerant” crowd.
2) Social media is the easiest way for a company to fall from grace. Whether it’s an “influencer” showing off a product customized and provided to them for some SJW reason, an executive spouting nonsense on the internet, or oddly falling silent when being boycotted, people notice and use those same social media platforms to denounce you.
3) The almighty dollar is down but not out. We’ve hit what counts most to Bud Light and AB: the Bottom Line. When Big Corporate sees that drop, we affirm our status as power-holders able to make or break a brand.
4) Even the mightiest brands fall under poor leadership and losing touch with customers. Sears was once ubiquitous but has now gone from flying above everything to floating face down in the water and is now lying on the bottom of the retail ocean.
And she insulted Fraternities (as you pointed out, a HUGE consumer) in that ill advised video.
I read somewhere that she also participated in fraternity-esque behavior, which drew criticism because of the hypocrisy.
I wonder if All-Points Logistics opened a brewery?
Yeah, tried a couple of their offerings:
Phildo Pilsner – rough dumpster and mushroom mustiness, bottle artwork is offensive to real Native Americans
Bernath Coconut Stout (limited, ‘honorary’ release) – tastes like flop sweat and empty fuel tank, pairs well with a Photoshop session or disbarment.
Beware the screws in the bottom!
It also points to how Out of Touch the leadership is, in their attepts to appease their former base. All they try to do is show comercials like they used to. Never an apology for their VPs completely hostile statement. Just, hey can’t we go back to where we were making lots of money?
Nope!
Drop the price, apolgize, and then maybe change the name and likeness (can color)… BUD LIGHT is now and forever a gay beer.
Didn’t they already make those changes years ago? Natural Light always seemed like a slightly different tasting, and much cheaper Bud Light. Kinda like Keystone and Coors, or Military Special Blended Whiskey and Seagram’s 7. Maybe I’m stretching that last comparison…
Regardless, I’ll stick to cheap whiskey for now. Picked up my first case of beer, Miller Lite, in months, drank a couple, then they did their gender reveal party a week later.
The catastrophic Bud Lite backwash of 2023.
They made their woke position known; all the pandering in the world won’t get them back their market share or dignity. Shit on your core demographic and nowadays, that core demographic catches the shit and throws it back.
That pisswater ain’t worth drinking if they gave it away for free anyway.
I think I bought my last Bud Light sometime around 1984. It’s just bad beer. Buy local brews, there’s too many good small breweries that need your money more than AB. I will admit to drinking more than my share of Michelob Dark back in the day.
I drank way too many Bud Lights 20 years ago when my roommate was a bud rep and got it for free. Even then I was drinking the Irish, Brits and Germans stuff. Now living in the Pacific NW there is just waaay too many awesome craft beers to drink. (Although an ice cold Coors yellow belly hits the spot now and again when I am at a bar)
Corporate America just doesn’t understand us little folk. Be it shopping or eating or drinking we like what we like. Don’t tell us how to think, pray or vote.
Over the last month Shiner has consistently been sold out in liquor stores all around me. Bud Light maintains its dominance in the fridge and stock room piles… and it ain’t moving.
I miss 3 Stooges beer.
Yes…I threw this in here.
Love Her Or Hate Her, she was still a legend.
“Tina Turner Dead At 83”

Ike and Tina Turner.
“Proud Mary”
The Ed Sullivan Show.
Aired 11 January 1970.
Rest In Peace, Tina.

First concert I ever saw, Ike and Tina. I was one of the few pale folks in attendance.
Target is getting it both ways – first from conservatives for endorsing Alphabet Pride, so they pulled back on that – now the LGBTQWERTY folks are pissed at them. Only safe rule is STAY OUT OF POLITICS AND IN YOUR OWN LANE.
I’m glad they’re feeling every bit of this woke economic disastrous experiment.
Now let’s do this again with Target!
it’s been at least 13 or 14 years since i last even set foot in a Target Store!
I fired Target at the beginning of the Bathroom Wars.
I began my boycott when I found out how they treated their employees who were Reserves and NG as well as their Family Members!
That’s simply deplorable!
Bud Light should’ve followed the example set by H&K. Target, you may want to take notes:
https://twitchy.com/brettt-3136/2023/05/24/heckler-koch-introduces-its-new-social-media-manager-after-woke-backlash/
That’s one big pile of…. 😆
Now it’s Ford and Targets turn.
So much for the GT350 I wanted to order. Will look on the used market so Ford gets none of my money.
Hopefully someone will buy in my color with my options.
Go woke, go broke! Can’t say that buttwiper lost any money from me…’cause they NEVER made any off of me.
These corporateclowns will keep motivating me to spend my ducats somewheres else until I’m a hermit in the woods, watching squirrels instead of TV, making liquor outta acorns and fashioning my own clothing from buck hide, aka paradise.
You don’t like us. We don’t like you. Let’s keep that animosity backburner unless you wanna drive us to hate.
I have no problem with that, but you clearly do.
Ball’s (unfortunately including the testicle-kind) in your court.
People order bud light largely out of habit, brand familiarity not because they really love the product. Once you break that behavior for whatever reason and the customer finds another brand that becomes the new go to, he’s probably not coming back. A percentage of the damage will be permanent even when nobody cares about the boycott anymore. Also the patriotic pandering, camouflage and Harley Davidson cans are just going to be taken as insults by anyone but the dumbest of customers and may further entrench the boycott
Exactly what I was thinking. Thx.
I still like the Lizards, Frank & Louie. Hard to understand how the advertising/marketing folks sqaundered everything that was given in favor of pooping on the brand like homeless San Franciscans do their streets
Hey, wokies…your boycott of Hogwart’s Legacy flopped. Our boycott of Bud Light is a raging success. People are getting sick and tired of pregnant men and women with penises. If you honestly believe that a 13-year-old is too young to use a firearm, yet old enough for gender transition, you are officially too stupid to be allowed to vote. Now it’s pedophilia normalization, as ‘minor-attracted persons’. Celibate pedophiles getting help to stay celibate? I’m open to that. Kid touchers? Woodchipper go brrrrr.
It’s time to bring our traditional values back. Sure, keep same-sex marriage, but dump the gender snowflake bullshit. The only guide that we need was written back in 1611 and is still relevant today. It’s the King James Bible, God’s infallible Word. Let’s bring that back.
AMEN!
My three favorite beers are
Not sure the effort involved is worth my time for this rebate scheme. Nor do I want to be on their mailing/spam list
The latest promotion involves giving Bud Light away for free. Makes sense due to it going to just spoil anyway. AB is buying it back from distributers that can’t sell it.
https://www.foxnews.com/media/stores-sell-bud-light-free-mulvaney-backlash-continues
There may be even more benefits if you live in Nan-Tuck-It. (I can’t believe I went there. Somebody stop me!)
It would seem that regular folks are just darn sick and tired of having the trans and woke BS shoved down our throats. I know I sure am. I don’t care what someone does in the privacy of their home with another consenting adult. As long as kids are not involved. Just leave me alone and the hell out of it.
(Speaking of growing tired of the woke culture being thrown in our faces) Just the other day I stopped in a local convenience store and noticed on the cashier’s name tag, she had written “They/Them” next to her name…so I asked “Are they having a good day?” – and she just looked at me and asked “What are you talking about?
I replied, “I’m asking if ‘they’ are having a good day?!”, and she replied “Sir, I’m not getting your question.”. So I said, “On your name tag, it also says ‘they/them'”. Then she got obviously mad and called for a manager on her little microphone thing.
Well, the manager showed up and they stepped back for a second, then the cashier walked over to another register to open it and the manager finished up with ky transaction, saying, “Sir, we’re going to finish this transaction, then you need to leave the store.”
I told her that was my intention the whole time, and suggested to the manager that if the employee wants to flaunt her pronouns, she ought to be familiar with them and he willing to engage with customers instead of being offended by it.”
It was probably a jackass thing to do, but for some reason I just had to engage in the bullshit which I normally never do – plus that was interaction came on the heels of dealing with some other bullshit earlier in the day. Seeing her name tape just sent me off a little.
That’s not to say I’m proud of that short confrontation, but if people want to display their wokeness, they ought to be prepared to defend it instead of being a little bitch about it.
(Apologies for the spelling errors…) Dang phone.
Nicely done Forest. Excellent.
I always considered Bud Light overpriced pisswater that was the choice of underage college freshmen, thus I wasn’t one of their consumers before they decided to commit corporate seppuku!
Sent a single on off production can to an influencer to get brand attention from a younger demographic because their primary demographic is dying boomers with liver disease…
And their dying consumer base on title lost their fucking minds over it.
Bunch apparently bud lite drinkers are a bunch of reactionary pearl clutching ignorant clowns.
Well, they sure as fuck got some attention, didn’t they, Lars?
Funny how we’ve gone from the, “Me Generation,” to the, “Look at ME!” generation.
Cry harder.
Next thing you’ll be telling us that we’re all transphobic because we don’t support Dylan Mulvaney’s “365 days of girlhood.” He’s no more a girl than Al Jolson was black. He’s an actor playing a role, a drag version of Pee Wee Herman. A fraud, not unlike yourself.
