Homeless veterans booted from hotels in advance of illegal aliens in New York
According to veteran advocates, New York has found a way to make more room for incoming illegal aliens. About 20 homeless veterans have been removed from where they were staying to make room for incoming illegal aliens. This happened in upstate New York. Luckily, these veterans have been relocated to another hotel. New York City’s mayor made good on his intention to send incoming New York City bound illegal aliens to other locations in New York.
From the New York Post:
“A lot of them are Vietnam veterans. We do help them on a constant basis to get them benefits and help them find a place in society.”
State Assemblyman Brian Maher, a Republican who helps rep Orange County, said, “Shining a light on this is important because we need to make sure these hotels know how important it is to respect the service of our veterans before they kick [them] out of hotels to make room.”
“They really ought to think about the impact on these people already going through a traumatic time,” he told The Post.
“Whether you agree with asylum-seekers being here or not, we can’t just ignore these veterans that are in our charge that we are supposed to protect: the New Yorkers and Americans.”
“We need to put them first.”
Toney-Finch said she believes it all comes down to money.
“They want to get paid” more, she said of the hotels, referring to what her group shells out to get the vets housing compared to what the city is paying for each migrant.
“That’s so unfair, because at the end of the day, we are a small nonprofit, and we do pay $88 a day for a veteran to be there,” she said.
While it’s unclear what the city is paying upstate, various reported deals between the Big Apple and Manhattan hotels have called for payments such as $190 a night — part of an estimated $4.3 billion migrant price tag for taxpayers through spring 2024.
Adams began bussing migrants flooding the city to The Crossroads on Thursday — hours before a key federal immigration-rule change was set to take effect and feared to increase the influx even more.
Hizzoner’s move spurred a vicious war of words between Adams and officials in Orange and neighboring Rockland County, where the mayor also has threatened to bus migrants — till a lawsuit at least temporarily blocked the move.
Maher said it’s outrageous that veterans are getting caught in the crossfire of the migrant crisis.
“For these people only being there a few weeks, then to be told after having a level of trust developed, ‘Hey, you have to get out,’ That’s not right,” he said.

Part 1
I’ve been involved with pressing matters for the past few days and am now just learning about the rest of the story here. However…
I went through and edited some of the comments. At the time I posted the above, the information that was available indicated that room was being made for pending illegal aliens in hotels at the expense of veterans. The rest of the story that was later published here was not available until later, brought up here by ninja on the Weekend Open Thread.
Unfortunately, a couple of posters failed to demonstrate tact when pointing that out on this thread…
Contributing articles here is not as easy as it looks. It is easy for people to point and criticize an attack without getting the complete story themselves about how these articles make it here.
After an email was sent out to the group regarding the abundance of certain types of posts that used to be made here, and how that negatively impacted the site via the Facebook account, the amount of types of articles that we could address here drastically reduced. This made finding additional articles to post here a bit more challenging.
More so when I, and presumably the other contributors, are busier than a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest outside of contributing articles to his website. This places additional challenges to our ability, and to the time we have available, to locate articles to keep the site updated with fresh material.
Even if it appears legitimate, and supported by other articles, I could very well decide to not post anyway just in case something comes up in the original stories are incorrect.
Part 2
There is a way to let people know if they had posted a story that turned out to be false. Hindsight is a great thing; it would be great to have it before it is needed. However, until we gain that ability, being an asshole about this is not the way to go… Especially when those bringing attention to this fact have zero understanding of trying to balance the specifics of what is needed for the site, with what has to be done outside of this website, and are not there with us keeping this site updated with new stories.
Tact goes a long way with me. It goes a long way with the other contributors. We are volunteers, not employees. If the two commenters whose posts I edited feel that they could do better, they are more than welcome to put their names in the hat when there is a call for additional blog article contributors. I would most certainly welcome them among our group should they get article posting permissions. I would extend that same gratitude to anybody else that comes forward to become blog article contributors.
More of the same.
It pairs nicely with a Bud Light can.
Agreed.
Burn down the hotels that are kicking out the vets to make room for the invading illegal alien hoards.
I am opposed to your calls for arson and attempted murder.
I have heard rumor that the old soldiers home has a lot of vacancies.
Or, hot take:
It’s not either of those in time of War, ‘as prescribed by law’.
But to a Feral government, denial of both key terrain and ability to ‘quarter without consent’ would be ‘muh insurrection’ if one acted accordingly or something.
-End theoretical explanation of others’ thought processes on “Our” “Betters” mostly peaceful® junta.- (not pacifically speaking for anydamnone, here or otherwise)
We all have to figure out what kind of country we want to live in, and that luxury of indecisiveness is running out.
Plan accordingly.
score: Tox doesn’t earn either up or down, you earn a down doot.

You whiny little bitch. You’re a day late and a dollar short. This has been covered in the WOT. Ninja, break him off some.
And?
You run into a point please wake the class.
He has a point, but his tinfoil hat conceals it.
I’m pretty sure we became aware of that a few days ago. You were probably too busy in your role as an antifa cock goblin medic to know that. The chick making the claims turned out be a fraud just like you. Enough of your impotent rage.
If you’re gonna bus ILLEGAL migrants anywhere, why not bus them back to where they came from?
“Whether you agree with asylum-seekers being here or not, we can’t just ignore these veterans that are in our charge that we are supposed to protect: the New Yorkers and Americans.”
So it looks like new yawkers aren’t American. I was born (1945) there as part of what are called the silent majority and around 1972 or so I made the move to NYS Nassau County Long Island.
How ’bout something trying a novel solution to this illegal alien situation. Enforce 8USC to the letter of the law. Who knows; it just might work.
Just a thought.
Your mileage may vary and possibility cause uneven tire wear.
But 8 USC is almost as convoluted in its very simple and easy-to-understand logic as the 2A…
How very ray-ciss of you to expect the government to understand its exact job. It’s those slave-owning founders’ fault for not drafting a Spanish-language version.
Boot the Veterans so they can accommodate more ILLEGAL ALIENS, just brilliant, and this is yet another move made by the “People of Tolerance” which further proves that liberalism is a Mental Disorder.
The modern-day “liberal” knows nothing of actual liberalism. It’s unfair and insulting to group the two.
$4.3 Billion price tag for migrants? No, illegal invaders of our country. That money could help a lot of REAL American people.
But how else are demonrats gonna secure the next gen of voters?
Were I hell-bent on conquering the world (I am, but in this case I don’t speak enough Spanish), this is exactly how I would go about preparing the battlefield.
Sneak a whole bunch of sleepers through every porous border I can find, then tell them to just live as normal a life as they can while equipping themselves for what’s to come and undermining the indigenous system in many, tiny ways….
When the time is ripe and numbers/equipment/expeditionary strengths align with internal discord – boom! Saboteurs take over from political agents and a decades-strong fifth column stands ready to pull their weapons from under the floorboards.
It all comes down to the predictability of illegals voting demokrat vs Vets. That is the prime reason for why the invasion is going on.

You’re late to the party again. Could be a clue about your abilities in the Intel field. Late, fraudulent, and indoctrinated is no way to go through life.

I was dinged for that in an OER by my Bn C.O. because I tried to get a later proven not guilty PFC out of pretrial confinement in the Mannheim Stockade. When being upbraided by the LTC, I had the audacity to tell him that it was unfair to keep this one man locked up for almost a year when the other three suspects in the German bartender stabbing were free. It seems the Brigade COL wanted someone locked up for this crime, solely for political reasons.
