HOUSTON — A man was killed Tuesday after being shot by a police officer during a struggle in a southeast Houston Family Dollar parking lot, according to the Houston Police Department. It happened around 2:30 p.m. at a store on Martin Luther King Boulevard at East Orem Drive.
HPD Assistant Chief Ban Tien said at the scene that the incident started as an auto-theft investigation when an officer noticed a stolen vehicle in the store’s parking lot. Tien said the officer blocked the suspect’s car in a parking space and approached the vehicle while asking the man to get out of the car.
That’s when authorities said the suspect put the car into reverse and rammed into the officer’s patrol vehicle.
Police said the suspect then got into a fight with the officer and that a woman associated with the man got involved. The woman ended up with the officer’s stun gun and one of his magazines was knocked away by the suspect, according to HPD.

Couple tracked down the suspect after receiving an alert notifying them of transactions at Vancouver Mall
By Audrey Conklin
A Vancouver, Washington, couple pleaded with a carjacking suspect on Sunday to give their son back before he took off with their vehicle.“He opens my car door, and I see my son’s in there,” the victim identified only as John told FOX 12 Portland. He recalled telling the suspect: “Please, my son’s in there. Give my son back. You can have my car, just give my son back.”
Clark County authorities arrested Mario Andrews in connection with the incident, after the couple tracked him down at a JCPenney.
The couple, who own Happy Juice Coffee Bar in Vancouver, were setting up their food cart when Andrews allegedly jumped into their vehicle with their son in the backseat and drove off, despite their pleas to give them their 1-month-old baby.

John reportedly detained the suspect ‘as needed.’ I expect he would need rather a lot of that. Thanks, 5JC.

A very nice overall score for today, a DRT, and a trifecta of citizens fighting back. MLK weeps that so much crime is committed on streets that bear his name.
Show them the light that burns their retinas just before the heat vaporizes them.
Wouldn’t mind trapping me one of them RMs. “…45-70 Gov’t…400 -grain or heavier…stainless steel and wood…” Be still my beating heart.
One of God’s finest calibers… tend to think Ruger is maybe exploting Marlinlove a bit with that price tag. Used to be levers were close to the bottom of the rifle price chart, nowadays they are, ahem, a bit higher on the scale.
That classified documents leak is being massaged into a “Get those dang evil, racist people who’re into God, guns and ‘Merica!” moment by proggies… just so you know:

I would love to see a pic of the Vancouver perp after the “detained as needed”.
I followed the linkie, but no joy, no pic (sigh….).
Finally found a pic:

The melanin content was not necessarily a surprise, but that his face was unmarked was. I was expecting some physical evidence from his being “detained as needed”.
Sorry I’ve been busy af, but today I bring that goodgood.
