The Philippines to publish videos of Chinese activities
In one incident between China and the Philippines, a Chinese coast guard ship shined a military grade laser in the direction of a Filipino coast guard ship. Some crewmembers were reportedly temporarily blinded. China claimed that the Philippine coast guard ventured into Chinese territorial waters and that the Chinese responded professionally. However, videos contradict that claim. Therefore, one of the responses that Manila will carry out will be to publish videos of what the Chinese are actually doing.
From the Military Times:
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine coast guard has launched a strategy of publicizing aggressive actions by China in the disputed South China Sea, which has countered Chinese propaganda and sparked international condemnation that has put Beijing under the spotlight, a Philippine official said Wednesday.
Manila’s coast guard has intensified patrols in the disputed waters and taken extra efforts to document and publicize assertive Chinese behavior in the strategic waterway, including a Feb. 6 incident in which a Chinese coast guard ship aimed a military-grade laser that briefly blinded some crew members on a Philippine patrol boat off a disputed reef.
The coast guard protested and released a video of the incident, which sparked alarm in the Philippines, the United States and some other Western countries. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. summoned China’s ambassador to Manila and later said the Philippine military has shifted its focus from fighting Muslim and communist insurgents and other internal threats to external defense amid long-seething South China Sea territorial disputes.
“I’d like to emphasize that the best way to address Chinese ‘gray zone’ activities in the West Philippine Sea is to expose it,” coast guard Commodore Jay Tarriela said, referring to China’s use of ostensibly civilian fishing and research vessels to perform military tasks to avoid a military response from rival claimant states.

Okay, I know it’s China but my definition of a military laser is one that is not visible light. Without getting too down in the weeds on it The United States broke the code on this years ago. DARPA invented lasers they can explode people’s retinas in the darkness and you can’t even see it. Some of the stuff they’ve done with air defenses quite surprising.
China doesn’t seem to understand that the West cannot allow them Taiwan because that would give the control of over 75% of the technology manufacturing in the world. Hong Kong was the perfect test case for why you don’t give China control over stuff. The thought was that Hong Kong would make China be freer but the opposite was true.
Right now it just looks like it would be Japan, Australia, South Korea, Philippines, United States versus China and North Korea but it would be a lot deeper than that. I just don’t see any way to keep it from going nuclear once it kicks off. If that happens the best I can hope for is to die in the first wave.
Ditto. The aftermath would make the dystopian movie, “The Road,” look like a documentary.
I just don’t see it. I see China as another Russia, with more expensive toys. Has anyone ever witnessed their military conduct any training?
So is anybody surprised that the Philippines have recently warmed to expanded military engagement? Self-interested, anyone?
Never forget that the stated goal of the Chinese Communists is World Domination. They will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. They are playing the long game and will continue to chip away and pit other countries against one another. And for those that think the Chinese Communists don’t want to destroy their world market? Think again. Once they have overtaken the world there won’t be any need to produce cheap consumer goods. They will export their idea of slave labor to the new peasants of the world.
The Iranians? Now they DO want to destroy us.
Chicoms tryin’ the be all “Hollywood” about it…
Like china really cares if they are videoed. They will just claim it was manufactured and continue.
