Would-be burglar killed while breaking into home NW Houston, police say
Police said the neighbor heard a strange noise and went out to investigate before the shooting.

Author: John Diaz
A man was shot and killed while breaking into a home after being spotted by a neighbor, according to Houston police.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Saxon Dr. near Mangum Rd. in northwest Houston.

Police said a noise alerted the neighbor that something wasn’t right. When he went out to investigate, he spotted a man breaking into his neighbor’s empty home.

At some point, the man then lunged at the neighbor. Police said that’s when the neighbor fired a gun, which shot and killed the man.

DOJ: Dunn County deputy involved in fatal incident

Chris Vetter, The Leader-Telegram, Eau Claire, Wis.
A Dunn County deputy has been placed on administrative leave after an officer-involved fatal shooting Saturday night, according to the state’s Department of Justice.

At approximately 9:08 p.m. Saturday, officers conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle near Terril Road and Bongey Drive in Menomonie, according to a DOJ press release.

“The vehicle involved in the contact was taken during an armed home invasion, where it was reported shots were fired,” the press release states. “During the traffic stop, law enforcement officers from the Menomonie Police Department and the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office discharged their weapons striking the driver of the vehicle. First aid was rendered but the subject died at the scene.”

No law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident.

Houston has gotten the party started early. They slipped a little last year and only had about 500 homicides in the city, down from about 540. They don’t want to lose their place as the crime mecca of Texas.

Blue State sh*thole part of Texas…

Old tanker

That is more austin than houston. The big crime issues came from all the displaced folks from nola when the city flooded several years back. They never went back home.

Well, Austin, Houston and El Paso…

All three, designs of St JMB (HBHN)

Praise be!

A Most Beautymous Day in store to Celebrate The Festival of His Most Saintly, John Moses Browning…Howitzer Be His Name. The rain has quit, not a cloud in the sky and temps in the high 50s. We have a twofer DRT and our Beloved AW1Ed has graced us with a picture and an article on the only 9mm pistol worth having. No plasticized abominations allowed. It is fitting that some of the other usual suspects are on board for The Festival by including works of Art as a Tribute to THE Greatest Weapons Designer, EVAH!

The Festival Dinning In fare will consist of a mix veggie soup, ht2 the mix of his designs, orasted beef beast, ht2 the beefyness of designs, taters for the starchiness of designs, mixed greens for the envy of all designs, and for desert, brownies.

“Dinning”? As in, making a loud noise?
You going to have a Festival Shoot-In at the Festival Dining In?

YES! And Joyous!

And YES!

The Dining part will be both sumptuous and scrumptious.

You’d think that SLC UT would close down for the day and have a parade. Why haven’t you arranged that? You were there.

Saint John resided in Ogden. His pappy’s hardware store and gun shop was a few blocks down the street from my great-great-great grandpappy’s furniture store.

Roger that SFC D. Was using the SLC reference since that is the HQ of The Mormon Faith and HMS JMB is the most famous Mormon since Brigham Young…and they can afford to throw a big parade. Plus the Tabernacle Choir would do such a melodious rendition of the Praise Hymn. IIRC our Boy, Tox, is not too far out from there and would be the prime candidate to head up the organizing there of.

I remember you gloating over your family’s connection to HMS JMB (HBHN) on this site several times in the past. Was appropriately pea green with envy. Ogden was on my list of places to try to get thru on my covid cancelled road trip back in 2020.

The Pope’s assistant runs in, excited and breathless. He says “Your Holiness, I have good news and bad news”. The Pope says “good news first!” Assistant says “Jesus Christ is back on earth and wants to speak with you!” The Pope replies “This is wonderful! What’s the bad news?” Assistant says quietly “He’s calling collect from SLC.”

Memo to the dirt nap mutt. Do NOT bring a ‘lunge’ to a gunfight. That is all.

Regarding the guy who grabbed the gun from the 72 year old shooter in LA, here’s a bit from the New York Post. Just because a new site is more conservative than others doesn’t mean that writers know anything about guns:

Astonishing surveillance images show the moment a brave good Samaritan tackled California dance club mass shooter Huu Can Tran — grabbing his semi-automatic assault pistol even though he was certain he was about to die.

Hadn’t heard assault pistol before.

In other news, did you hear about the “Assault Fire” being used to burn cop cars by rioters in Atlanta? Then there was the “Assualt SUV” used in the Christmas parade a few years ago.

That’d be anything but a flintlock pistol:

British bill posted around ye olde town
“God fearing British soldiers, feeding woman and children of the colonies brutally attacked by Assault Flintlocke”

What I’d like to see KHOU et al do in these FGS is report on the number of times the deceased or perforated thug has been caught and released by the DA…
