Florida Man Will Not Face Charges In Self-Defense Shooting
Stuart FL Shooting Ruled Self-Defense
by Sam Hoober
Michael Roberts, 63, has been cleared by the Florida State Attorney’s office for a shooting that occurred in January of 2022 outside of his home in Stuart, Fla. Roberts was assaulted by his neighbor in front of his home and shot Andrew Karacsonyi, 65, killing him.The two were embroiled in an ongoing dispute, which turned violent. The State Attorney’s office recently announced that they would be declining to file charges, as Roberts’ actions met the “reasonable person” standard and thus was excusable under Florida law.
According to the Treasure Coast Palm, Roberts and Karasconyi had been in an ongoing dispute for some months, including multiple police reports filed by both parties and allegations of vandalism, slashing car tires, racism, and leaving threatening notes to each other.
On January 29, 2022, Roberts was going about his morning routine when he heard his dog barking and opened his door to investigate. His dog was barking at Karasconyi, who was near Roberts’ mailbox.

1 person shot, killed by Harnett County deputies
By Michael Perchick
Harnett County deputies shot and killed a man who reportedly pointed a gun at them Monday. The shooting happened before 9 a.m. at a home near Lillington in the 200 block of Capitol Hill Road near South River Road.
One deputy was called to the home shortly after 8:15 a.m. by a family member and friend of a person reportedly having a mental health crisis. The deputy and the concerned family member spoke and decided to get an involuntary commitment order for the man.
After that, more deputies arrived to take the man into custody for the involuntary commitment.
Deputies said the man they were trying to take into custody pointed a gun at them, so they pulled their guns and opened fire, killing him.
“First, we want to say that our thoughts and prayers are with the decedent’s family and friends,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The problem is not that people are taxed too little, the problem is that government spends too much.

“Involuntary commitment”
Yeah…..looks like the dude got involuntarily committed……to a cemetery.
(top story)
Sounds like a Florida Man (Men) version of “Grumpy Old Men”……but in Florida……and with guns…….and no one is laughing.
Sounds like the situation was stupid and could have been resolved in another way – but I could be wrong.
Yep, and I don’t think you’re wrong, GB. I try not to sit in judgement, or Monday Morning Quarterback many of these articles. And no one knows exactly how they will re-act in a given situation…until they’re in it. Think it was D. Boone that said if you can see the smoke from your neighbor’s chimney, they were too close.
Same with judging the LEO response to an armed supposed nutjob. Not sure if I would go peaceably if I was fixin’ to be “involuntarily committed”…again. 3 nights and 4 days on a surprise arrest on trumped up charges can change one’s opinion on things.
I do sit in judgement of DAs that have allowed the criminal element to take over and not do anything about it.
30+ TRILLION $ debt…and growing. RR weeps.
Streetsweeper…for when you positively need to take the trash out.
That shottie sounds like a good idea, but poorly designed and built. Too bad.
Looks like Philly has a sad case of Chicago envy.
Not sure how Florida Man faced Florida Man and there was a survivor.

‘”Transgender Missouri Inmate Executed For Fatal Stabbing”
https://nypost.com/2023/01/04/transgender-missouri-inmate-amber-mclaughlin-executed-for-2003-stabbing/
“A Missouri inmate was put to death Tuesday for a 2003 killing, in what is believed to be the first execution of a transgender woman in the US.”
“Amber McLaughlin, 49, was convicted of stalking and killing a former girlfriend, then dumping the body near the Mississippi River in St. Louis. “I am sorry for what I did…l am a loving and caring person.”
Guenther’s neighbors called police the night of Nov. 20, 2003, when she failed to return home. Officers went to the office building, where they found a broken knife handle near her car and a trail of blood. A day later, McLaughlin led police to a location near the Mississippi R, where the body had been dumped. Authorities she had been raped and stabbed repeatedly with a steak knife.”

And now the world is a little bit of a better place to live.
NcLaughlin began transitioning about three years ago at the state prison in Potosi.
The clemency petition cited McLaughlin’s traumatic childhood and mental health issues, which the jury never heard during her trial. A foster parent rubbed feces in her face when she was a toddler and her adoptive father used a stun gun on her, according to the petition. It cited severe depression that resulted in multiple suicide attempts, both as a child and as an adult.
The petition also included reports citing a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, a condition that causes anguish and other symptoms as a result of a disparity between a person’s gender identity and their assigned sex at birth. But McLaughlin’s sexual identity was “not the main focus” of the clemen
“(A) condition that causes anguish and other symptoms as a result of a disparity between a person’s gender identity and their assigned sex at birth”. Gotta call bullshit on this. Your sex is “assigned” long before birth. You identify as wombat if you want to, but your DNA determines whether you’re a Jody or a Judy, you don’t get to choose.
