Well, we got us a $1,700,000,000,000 spending bill.

| December 26, 2022

Four THOUSAND pages of never-read spending bill. No one knows what’s actually in it. Remember “you’ve got to pass it to find out what’s in it” in health care? Bitch done did us again with the spending bill as her parting finger as Speaker of the House. And 18 Republicans went along with it.

The plus? It’s a spending bill. Spending like a drunken sailor in a Filipino whorehouse on 30 day shore leave after winning the Lotto. We can pay the troops (since Congress didn’t use a continuing resolution,  when the last budget was gonna run out, that was that. No pay. Gotta love a Democrat House for almost hanging our kids out to dry.)

The scary? If you don’t like it, you’re in AOC’s company. Occasional-Cortex was the only Democrat to oppose the bill – not that she was loathe to spend crazy amounts of other people’s money, but she was ticked that measures she supports like making it easier for illegal immigrants to break our laws helping undocumenteds attain citizenship didn’t make it onto the bill. How that happened, I don’t know – seems like everything ELSE did. That, and DoD got more money than she wanted. Note she voted by proxy, as did many – funny how they get deathly scared of Covid and can’t stand to be around others just when they are trying to get home for Christmas. So of course I am sure she will socially isolate while she’s home. Right.  Yahoo News

According to Rand Paul’s “Festivus Report” on government waste (yeah, I’m sure he stole it from William Proxmire’s “Golden Fleece” for you old guys) these came from the $3,500,000,000,000 Inflation Reduction Act. So we can expect to see more of the same:

More than $31.5 million worth of COVID funds went to buy luxury cars, and another $1.6 million was used to upgrade turf fields in Wisconsin.

Department of Defense spent nearly $200,000 on espresso machines from Starbucks.

The Vera Institute of Justice got $168 million to help illegal immigrants avoid deportation, and this group has received more than $1.1 billion since 2008, the report found. ”

$3 million in grants to watch steroid-injected hamsters fight in an attempt to assess whether certain drugs can soothe steroid-induced aggression.

It spent $2.3 million to inject beagle puppies with cocaine, and it spent $1.1 million to watch mice get drunk.

$689,000 to study romance between parrots, the study said. Uncle Sam also spent $187,000 to verify that the loving relationship between kids and their pets is beneficial. (Ed: Remember when Johnny Paycheck said “they’ll spend a million dollars to study the sex lives of South American swamp rats?” Here’s proof.)

National Science Foundation (NSF) spent $118,000 to study whether the evil Thanos really could snap his fingers while wearing the Infinity Glove and make half of all life in the universe disappear.

$20 million for the Alternative to Detention Case Management Pilot Program (CMPP) through to September 2024. The program… provides “voluntary case management and other services” to those in immigration removal proceedings,” (Ed. we pay to charge them, and now to defend them. Huh?)

The CMPP raised concerns from Republicans due to the involvement of a nonprofit that has previously backed calls for the defunding and abolition of ICE. Church World Services (CWS) is one of the three members that met congressionally set criteria and was selected to sit on the board.

Yahoo News III

CWS has in previous years called for the total defunding and dissolution of ICE.  Yeah, throw $20,000,000 at ’em. Hopefully from Congress’ pay account.

The good news, for those military readers we may have: as part of the new spending bill, GEN. Ulysses S. Grant is to be granted posthumous promotion to General of the Armies, five star flag rank. Responses from the General were muted. Glad we have time to do that…inflation, the National Debt, immigration, health, unemployment – must have them handled if we have time to worry about this.

The 10 House Republicans who voted in favor:  Reps. John Katko (R-NY), Chris Jacobs (R-NY), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Fred Upton (R-MI), Rodney Davis (R-IL), Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA), Steve Womack (R-AR), Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), and Liz Cheney (R-WY). Six of the 10 are already leaving office, five of them voted for Trump’s impeachment.

In the Senate, 18 Republicans voted to pass the omnibus. They were Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Sens. Richard Shelby (R-AL), Roy Blunt (R-MO), John Boozman (R-AR), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Susan Collins (R-ME), John Cornyn (R-TX), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Jim Inhofe (R-OK), Jerry Moran (R-KS), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Rob Portman (R-OH), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Mike Rounds (R-SD), John Thune (R-SD), Roger Wicker (R-MS), and Todd Young (R-IN).

This is the second time Cornyn has crossed the aisle this year…he must be thinking we will forget by 2026.  Don’t think so, John.

Insanity thy name is congress.

Worthless mofos. There will come a reckoning? Nope, never happen. The Patriots of this land of ours have become outnumbered by the grifters and members of the FSA.

The destruction of America continues…full speed ahead.

If the prefix Pro means for something and the prefix Con means against something, Does that mean Congress is the opposite of Progress?

Green Thumb

I wonder if All-Points Logistics is involved in any of these contracts?

This has Phil Monkress written all over it.

Yup I already told cornyn in an e-mail that the only thing I wanted to see from him was his resignation as he no longer represents TX interests.

But it _does_ have money for border security….”$370 million in taxpayer money to fund “enhanced border security … in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, and Oman. At least $150 million of that funding is allocated for Jordan’s borders”.

As for our borders…”$3 billion to fund the administration’s catch-and-release network that delivers economic migrants into Americans’ workplaces and housing.”
In addition to:

$1.9 billion in additional support for CBP and ICE to help manage the high volume of migrants arriving at the southern border, including:

$1.56 million to CBP for processing facilities, migrant medical care, transportation, personnel overtime, and other costs; and

$339.7 million for ICE for processing capacity, migrant medical care, transportation; and other non-detention costs.

The bill added at least $2 billion in emergency funds — some of which is used to aid the migrants.”

I faintly hear our Border Czar, “Heels Up” Harris cackling.

Response to a recent Freedom of Information Act request:

“ICE Can’t “Locate” Records Of 378,000 Detainees”

The ICE letter cautioned that the failure to locate records sought by TRAC isn’t evidence that the documents do or don’t exist. The inability of ICE to locate the requested records was described by TRAC* in a Dec. 23 statement
as a “very troubling development.”

*Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University in a Dec. 22 letter.

Is this true, Lars?

One day (maybe sooner than we think) the US Dollar will no longer be the world reserve currency. The fun will be unbearable.
