Team Biden sues Arizona and ‘dumbs down’ citizenship test
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey did not want to wait for Team Biden to address illegal alien related border challenges. The state of Arizona took matters into its own hand, the governor approved the construction of a border barrier made of shipping containers. This new border barrier succeeded in getting Team Biden to take action on matters related to the border. They initiated a lawsuit arguing that Arizona trespassed on federal property by placing the shipping container barrier there.

“Arizona has unlawfully and without authority failed to remove the shipping containers from lands owned by the United States or over which the United States holds easements, thereby damaging the United States,” the lawsuit argues.
The legal move comes after Ducey issued an executive order in August directing the state’s Department of Emergency and Military Affairs to begin a Yuma County project. The 3,820 feet of the previously open border was closed with 130 shipping containers in just 11 days.
The project then expanded to other parts of the border, with 6,680 feet of containers stacked two-high throughout Cochise County by early November. That section is estimated to take more than 2,700 shipping containers to fill the 10-mile gap along the southern border.

One of Joe Biden’s first acts was to sign an Executive Order intended to streamline the immigration process. This order started a chain reaction of events that resulted in a new test “design”. The civics section will go from “filling the blank” to a multiple-choice option. The English section of the test shifts towards conversational English and away from formal English. This new test will see a five-month trial period in 2023, and is expected to be incorporated in the same year.

The changes will lead to the English-speaking section being curated to more daily conversational subjects, as opposed to more formal subjects formerly discussed, with standardized criteria for assessment that reduce the examiner’s discretion to judge the quality of responses. “Applicants will respond to three color photographs randomly selected from a bank of approximately 70 images that directly correspond to an ordinary usage scenario,” according to the notice.
Additionally, the section on civics will be recrafted to become a multiple-choice format with each question having four options, as opposed to the previous “fill-in-the-blank” test where candidates have to answer a question from memory. The multiple-choice format, used on standardized tests for college admissions like the SAT and ACT, increases the probability of a candidate selecting the right answer by 25%, while allowing the candidates to recall the right answer more easily.
“Primarily, this is about responding to suggestions from the wider community that we’ve received over the past couple of years and making it more fair,” a USCIS official told CNN in advance of the notice’s publication. The proposed test will enter a five-month trial period in 2023 before being adopted later in the year, though current citizenship applicants will use the existing test.

The American public that does not live on or near the border have no concept of life on the border. There has been a border wall of some sort in Cochise county for decades. There are places where a “wall” type barrier is not feasible due to terrain or riparian issues and other barriers are used. Some areas have vehicle barriers that do nothing to stop humans. As Article IV compels the US to take action practically every ruling or lack of ruling goes back to the idea that surmises that you can’t ask for relief in the courts or prosecute/ impeach any party for dereliction.
Arizona tried to protect its own borders a few years back with AZ1070. 90% of it was shot down by the 9th Circus court, who stated that border security was the exclusive domain of the federal government. CBP is doing an excellent job here but they’re not dealing with the influx that you see in RGV or El Paso. A lot of Tucson sector agents and officers are temporarily in those hotspots, leaving AZ shorthanded. And then some genius in DC decided it’d be a good idea to pull federal air marshals off of commercial aircraft and use them to augment CBP. The immediate reaction from the marshal’s was something along the line of “Joe can just fuck right off”.

Now, from my limited knowledge and understanding (and I could be wrong), the FedGov had “possession” of lands back when these were territories. And from the time the territories became states, the FedGov land was (under treaty) supposed to be given back to the states to become state lands within a certain time.
So far, ain’t happened yet.
I’ve talked to certain UT legislators who were (several years ago, pre-PDJT) attempting to work with the gooberment to peacefully get the FedGov lands transferred to become state lands.
I’m of the mind now to get ahold of this legislator and tell him to “f**k the dumb shit”. No more Mr Nice Guy. Seize ALL that land under “Eminent Domain”, and convert it from FedGov lands to state lands.

To be fair, there is the common refrain that “the average citizen couldn’t pass the citizenship exam.”
Dumbing down the test is one approach, and it’s one that further lowers the collective education of a nation founded on very sophisticated philosophical concepts. It’s the bad COA – so there’s no surprise that Kandahar Joe’s administration opted for it.
It could have been addressed by, instead, raising the education level of the citizenry… say, requiring a civics exam of similar rigor in order to graduate from federally-subsidized schools. It’s a better option, but there’s no upside for a political system that has evolved to rely on the lowest common denominator.
