Hey Kids, Let’s Have Covid Amnesty!

| November 17, 2022

The Biden Administration’s Center for Disease Control (CDC) Covid pandemic response is a master class in government failure. Systemic shortfalls began with inadequate, ineffective and irrational responses to the pandemic. They also started the increasingly shrill 24-hour media cycle of declarations of States of Emergency, government-mandated shutdowns cancellations and/or closings of selected events institutions and organizations, with quarantine and social distancing for the masses.

At the onset, Governors Cuomo and Murphy issued nearly identical orders requiring NY/NJ nursing homes to accept Covid patients after being discharged from hospitals. However, the orders barred the homes from inquiring if the patients had the virus for fear of discrimination.

Those orders became death sentences as infections began to spread like wildfire among the vulnerable patients. So much so political leaders whisked their parents away from those facilities.

Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine

The health official responsible for overseeing nursing homes in Pennsylvania — where nearly 70 percent of the state’s coronavirus-related deaths have occurred — has reportedly moved her elderly mother out of a facility as deaths skyrocketed.

Unvaxxed People Threaten Safety Of Vaccinated People, Study Confirms

The peer-reviewed study from the University of Toronto counters the popular narrative that vaccination is purely a matter of choice, Forbes reports.

KHN

Get the jab, granny-killer! The mandates soon became too onerous for the power elite, but not rest of us. That’s all in our wake now, right?

Rules for Thee

LET’S DECLARE A PANDEMIC AMNESTY

Let’s focus on the future, and fix the problems we still need to solve.

By Emily Oster

In April 2020, with nothing else to do, my family took an enormous number of hikes. We all wore cloth masks that I had made myself. We had a family hand signal, which the person in the front would use if someone was approaching on the trail and we needed to put on our masks. Once, when another child got too close to my then-4-year-old son on a bridge, he yelled at her “SOCIAL DISTANCING!”

These precautions were totally misguided. In April 2020, no one got the coronavirus from passing someone else hiking. Outdoor transmission was vanishingly rare. Our cloth masks made out of old bandanas wouldn’t have done anything, anyway. But the thing is: We didn’t know.

I have been reflecting on this lack of knowledge thanks to a class I’m co-teaching at Brown University on COVID. We’ve spent several lectures reliving the first year of the pandemic, discussing the many important choices we had to make under conditions of tremendous uncertainty.

Some of these choices turned out better than others.

The Atlantic

Officials weren’t just wrong once and corrected. They doubled, tripled and quadrupled down on stupid despite overwhelming evidence that they were wrong. Their decisions over isolation, lockdowns, school closures, masking, and terrorizing an entire class of people who questioned the efficacy and wisdom of taking a rushed, experimental vaccine for a virus with a 99% survival rate require an accounting, not amnesty.

Granting amnesty to these individuals is a non-issue. What we all have endured with their egregious errors and continuous lies is far too great for that.
Just my humble opinion, your milage may vary.

I have to share this and have no shame in threadwh0ring to do so.

I’m a known quantity and have yet to be scolded sufficiently to make it thru the calluses.

In sum, you’re welcome!

Love the Sunday collection of memes.

Yep. I’ll grant your “amnesty” when you’re finished doing an “air dance” at the end of a short rope.

Pssst! I got some spicy for ye…

But but “If it saved just one life it was worth it”

Screw your freedom of choice! Rules are for thee and not for me. Right out of the fear and control playbook.

Roh-Dog

The Wicked Witch of Fake Kidnapping Michigan and my failed-state’s gov’ner have gotten another chance to be petty tyrants, yet the people cheer their servitude.

As Kit Knightly writes:

Let’s suppose this was a genuine apology on behalf of the people who half-destroyed the world in the quest for more money and more power and now want us to forgive and forget.

Well, then they can go to hell. [bold added] (link)

Amnesty you seek? Bayonet is my opener counteroffer.

Let the games begin!

5JC

Why da fuk do you care? You insist it was a cold and practically nobody dies from a cold. Therefore it never happened.

Go ahead and throw together some BS, I’ll wait.

Roh-Dog

It’s been 2 and a half years, bro. Let it go.

My age demo is more likely to die from licking an envelope than succumb to The Worst Lie-rus EVA ™

But I’m truly sorry about the friends you’ve lost, irrespective of their fragility and the system’s mismanagement.

5JC

That was last year you said that. The death rate in 2020 increased 18%. All of it Rona. Who licks a stamp anymore?

Roh-Dog

That was last year you said that.

What? And if so, so?

The death rate in 2020 increased 18%.

Yes, maybe, dunno. Murders and ODs were up significantly too. It kinda happens when you destroy hope and prosperity over a bad cold.

This isn’t a zero sum game, FYI.

 All of it Rona.

All those folks with blown out lungs would like a word with you. Also, the Remdesivir victims.

5JC

The 1800 additional murders account for 0.3% of the increase. It Doesn’t really blow my skirt up.

The extra 21K for the pill mills is noteworthy but still less than 4% of the total increase. One wonders since opiate OD deaths are basically deaths from respiratory failure if there is more of a relationship there.

In studies Less people died from being on Remdesivir than in the control group, so you lose that one. It worked, just not real well.

None of which answers my question which is; “Why da fuk do you care since you don’t believe it even happened?” therefore getting amnesty for sending people to nursing homes where they died didn’t even happen.

Roh-Dog

Putting infected people into nursing homes was antithetical to standard health procedures. If you’re looking for a reason, it’s right there.

Statistically, unarguably imho, the rest of us were going to be just fine.

(for context the murder/homicide rate went up ~28% from 2019-20, 5.07 to 6.52 per 100k. The response to ‘rona lit a cultural bomb is my point. Those kids and young adults deserved better, even if granny suffered. I don’t like it but that’s reality)

Since you want to argue against points I’m not making the offer still stands for you to go fuck yourself.

Have a great day and an even better tomorrow!

5JC

But it was just a cold you said…. nothing to worry about you said… So yeah, you are full of shit. Now I know it can be hard to admit that, but it doesn’t change it from being true.

You were full of shit then and you are full of shit now. Except now you are hypocritical piece of shit. This doesn’t really change it much from my perspective but jeez man at least try to make it consistent.

Roh-Dog

Still. Just. A. Cold.

And I’ll wear that ‘hypocritical piece of shit’ award from you with pride.

At least I can live without fear and with a slightly more reasoned approach to risk.

On that note, tis time for a CoVaids-19 inoculation via nitric oxide and nicotine to attenuate responsiveness in the ol’ ACE2 receptors in my bronchiole.

5JC

I am sure your fearlessness is as true as the rest of your beliefs.

But I would never get in the way of your vapid happiness. You do you Evel Knievel but get those eyes checked first.

Roh-Dog

Getting coVaids in January 2020 (before it was here) was the second greatest thing to happen to me, after meeting you of course!!!

5JC

Most guys don’t rub my junk straight away when meeting without asking first but I understood where you were coming from.

Andrew Cuomo killed more New Yorkers than Osama bin Laden.

Roh-Dog

I was clicking around and found the below data on usmortalitydotcom (the CDC’s website has turned into a disaster since they split aggregation data sets/types in 2020 and frankly I’m too lazy to spreadsheet it. This ‘looks’ correct)

United States reported 3,353,787 deaths, for the 52 weeks of year 2020 (all years of age). Expected deaths were 2,920,345. That is an increase of +433,442 deaths (+14.8%).

United States reported 3,457,519 deaths for the 52 weeks of year 2021 (all years of age). Expected deaths were 2,947,287. That is an increase of +510,232 deaths (+17.3%).

Year to date, United States reported 2,730,263 deaths for the 44 weeks of year 2022 (all years of age). Expected deaths were 2,507,261. That is an increase of +223,002 deaths (+8.9%).

Indeed, something is killing people. To be determined…

5JC

Well, you did leave out that automobile wrecks were at record highs in 2020. That was like a whole 0.2%. But you believe whatever you want, again reality won’t change to suit you.

Roh-Dog

The. Worst. Bat. Cold. Ever!*

*this decade. Take Imodium and a shot of whiskey, you’ll be fine.

(I survived SARS and all I got was a wart on my ass named 5JC)

5JC

And a finer and more beautiful wart there never was. All the guys that checked out that ass looked at it and said; “My that is mighty fine wart! It might be your best feature. Hand me that towel won’t you?”. They will probably make a mold of it someday and place it in the proctology museum.

The Dead Man

Disregarding the sheer number of people not actually reporting this shit correctly still? 18% of .02% is still a minute number epidemiologically speaking. For frame of reference, Tuberculosis still rocks around a 10% kill rate in areas where treatments are rarer. Of similar kill rates to the dreaded coof? The flu. At .02%. With similar comorbidities. MERS-SARS the Arabic strain had a considerably higher lethality albeit at a less infectious rate.

Then again, epidemiologists tend to seem callous because a million deaths nationwide is minute and wouldn’t be newsworthy if it weren’t for the campaign of fear and corrupt kickbacks.

Roh-Dog

But serious question, with SARS, MERS and now CoVidiocy, (full disclosure, I’m not a virologist, doctor, nurse, orderly, bedpan specialist nor did I stay at a holiday inn express last nite…) at what point would YOU say intentionally getting, or lifting ‘safety’ protocols for, this cold would be beneficial to the ‘herd’ so as to insulate against another outbreak of corona ‘viruses’?

I routinely join the pass-the-40(ounce beer) sessions behind the truck stop dumpster with the All Points Crew. Figure whatever anti-buddies they gots I needs ’em two.

Aren’t they already lifted? I’d say the DeSantis plan was the best based upon success rates. Florida has the 2nd highest population of elderly with a high population density. Deaths should have been off the charts, but weren’t.

Roh-Dog

So we have concordance on this, tyranny wasn’t a viable solution?

If that’s your stance I take back at least half of any/all ill-natured ribbing thrust in your azimuth!

No. Nah Fuck them. They made my life a living hell for almost TWO FUCKING YEARS and I was threatened with losing my job and opportunity to provide for my family because I refused to get jabbed. Liberals are big on reparations for past sins.

Ol’ Poe says now is the time to let them pay some to those whose civil rights they trampled in their mad, senseless panic.

The lesson to be learned here is that Chicken Littles aren’t just harmless fools to be mocked and disregarded. Their panicked responses actually can kill innocent people.

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

As long as we’re (slightly OT) on “reparations” for “past sins”, how about AMNESTY for the slavery reparations of people who never were slaves against people who never owned slaves?

MustangCryppie

And against people whose family wasn’t even in the country!

I want reparations from the UK for what they did to my ancestors in Ireland!

Mick

Spot on.

Neither Mrs. Mick’s family, nor my family, were even in the U.S. until the mid-1880s, well after both the Civil War and slavery had ended. Both of our families settled in the Upper Midwest, and neither of our families ever had anything to do with slavery.

Mrs. Mick and I are both white, and we’re both from Northern/Eastern European ethnic backgrounds.

So I just have to ask: do our families’ inherent racial and ethnic characteristics somehow now make us responsible (in 2022) for the institution of slavery that existed in the U.S. prior to the end of the Civil War, and therefore liable to have our families’ Federal tax dollars used to pay “reparations” to fellow American citizens who were never personally enslaved, nor were even alive prior to 1865?

Being forced by the government to contribute to the payment of “reparations” for past slavery that our families never had anything to do with would be about as bullshit as it gets.

Fyrfighter

Agreed!
If reparations had been approved / paid immediately after the civil war, to those who had just been freed, I might have been in favor of it.. (though the fact that more white men died in the war than the total number of slaves in the country at time does give me pause).

MustangCPT

Kinda the same story with me. My family was most likely running around northern Mexico taking potshots at Frogs and Krauts while all that unpleasantness was going on up north.

Yeah, my ancestors came from England and Germany, all that I can find arrived in the very late 1880s and 1890s. I don’t owe anyone anything.

Ditto.

Forest Bondurant

The Democratic party was responsible for slavery and Jim Crowe laws. That party, and anyone associated with them should pay reparations for that.

I think the death penalty for each registered (D)emon-rat might be in order.
Or public floggings with a cat-o-nine-tails and the (D)emon-rats bare-adz nekked.

rgr769

So, we should endorse them paying us with our own money? Now if they want to give us a tax holiday for the next two years, I could support that.

11B-Mailclerk

Any potential amnesty comes -after- the unconditional surrender.

We have not received their unconditional surrender.

So, no.

UpNorth

Speaking of potential amnesty to come, Chuck-U Schumer today floated the idea of amnesty for all illegal aliens in the country. Their idea basket for 2024 must be empty.

So our ‘Senate’ has floated this down the stream:

Relating to a national emergency declared by the President on March 13, 2020.

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That, pursuant to section 202 of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622), the national emergency declared by the finding of the President on March 13, 2020, in Proclamation 9994 (85 Fed. Reg. 15337) is hereby terminated.

Passed the Senate November 15, 2022.

Let’s see if the House of Representin’ gets the hint to undo THE mistake of PDJT.

poetrooper

Where oh where are LC and Lars to remind us what a bunch of ignorant conspiracy theorists we all are? 🤔

I suspect once Lars has finished massaging his “empirical data” and gets his talking points from his professor, he’ll chime in.

The old political catchphrase, “Follow the money”, certainly applies to liberals floating this idea of Covid amnesty. They don’t give a rat’s ass about the actual damages they have caused, but rather, what those damages are ultimately going to cost them.

They know they are facing endless lawsuits for the damages that resulted from their foolish actions, starting with wrongful death in tens of thousands of cases. Unfortunately, many of the worst offenders, federal employees, will be likely be shielded by sovereign immunity, as will the pharmacy giants who manufactured the deadly vaccines. But do not discount the idea that clever litigators may find ways to penetrate that immunity.

(continued)

poetrooper

(continued)

However, as ol’ Poe has been telling Miz Poe since this Covid panic began, it is all those doctors and hospitals, who knowingly and willingly denied effective treatment just to cover their cowardly asses from government threats of licensing repercussions, that are going to be fat targets for trial lawyers.

And don’t forget all those employers who coerced their employees into getting jabbed to keep their jobs. If those employees suffered any medical, emotional or financial consequences, those employers are in for a rough ride.

We need our legal eagle, rgr769, to weigh in here on who can and who can’t be sued, and on who has immunity and the possible limits of that immunity.

We are going to be living in interesting times…

Last edited 1 year ago by Poetrooper
poetrooper

Oh, and the liberal Chicken Littles know they are facing huge liability consequences over their Covid actions, or they wouldn’t be floating this amnesty balloon.

You can bet the farm on that… 😉

rgr769

Well, employees who wish to sue their employers over job requirements of taking the vaccine will be confronted with the exclusive remedy provisions of the Workers’ Compensation Laws of each state. Their exclusive remedy is to file a workers’ comp case, assuming they became seriously ill from the shot.

I am for amnesty, as long as we can stick all of the offenders in a COVID Amnesty Box.

There are some limits though:

  1. The box must be the size of a standard shipping container.
  2. ALL offenders will be placed in the box.
  3. A compactor will be used to fit all offenders in it.
  4. The floor of the container has 2″ holes drilled to allow for fluid flow.
  5. Children of the offenders must be present to view amnesty proceedings.
  6. Once the amnesty box is full, the oldest child of the last offender inserted must push the button to start the compactor.
  7. The container is made of leaded glass, just for goofs and pictures.

And yet this piece of scum will never pay for his crimes. The Demoncrats will do everything in their power to cover up his crimes against humanity, and the Repukeians are too stupid to ever pin anything on him. And to think I was so stupid that I wasted 30 years of my life in the military following the orders of a government that would deliberately kill its own citizens. To say I am bitter is a huge understatement.
