Protester flattened by Rams’ Bobby Wagner files police report

The fan who ran onto the field during the Los Angeles Rams’ loss at the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night filed a police report against Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner.

Shortly before halftime of the game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, a fan ran across the field with what appeared to be a device letting out pink smoke. Rams linebacker Takkarist McKinley came toward the person then Wagner stepped in and laid him out with a big hit.

Santa Clara Police Department Lt. Cuong Phan confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday that the police report was filed Tuesday afternoon. Because this is an active investigation, information will be limited, Phan said.

According to TMZ Sports, the individual is an activist for the Berkeley, California-based animal rights group Direct Action Everywhere and was trying to “raise awareness for a trial involving the alleged theft of pigs from a factory farm.”

Wagner said Wednesday he is aware of the police report but that the incident is behind him.

“Can’t really focus on it,” Wagner said. “I’m more concerned about the security guard that was hurt trying to chase him. … You just got to do what you got to do.”

Wagner reiterated Wednesday that as players, you never know what a person has in their hands or their pockets when they’re on the field.

“There’s consequences for your actions,” Wagner said.

When asked what he thought of the police report, Rams coach Sean McVay said, “I think that we all know where Bobby’s intentions were.”

“And I support Bobby Wagner,” McVay said. “That’s where I’m at with that. I don’t think anybody will disagree.”

Florida man charged with robbing store with finger gun

Police are pointing fingers at a Florida man accused of attempting to rob a store while armed only with a finger gun, a police report shows.

Paul James Sinclair, 56, entered a Florida store Monday afternoon with his hand tucked in his shirt, positioned as if he had a gun, according to the report, obtained by the Smoking Gun. He then ordered the cashier to hand over the money in the cash register, which totaled $120, and she obliged, the report added. He was apprehended at 1:36 p.m., just minutes after he entered the store at around 1:25 p.m., the report noted.

It isn’t known how the suspect was apprehended so quickly, or whether the cashier was able to alert authorities while the unarmed robbery was ongoing. He warned her not to “press any buttons” or alert authorities in any other way during the incident, the report said.

He was not on any drugs or under the influence of alcohol during the time of the arrest, and no weapons were recovered, according to officials.

Florida Dads Accused Of Shooting Each Other’s Daughters In Road Rage Incident

Two Florida men are each facing attempted murder charges after they allegedly shot at each other’s daughters during a road rage incident Saturday night.

William Joseph Hale, 35, and Frank Gilliard Allison, 43, were both arrested after a “cat and mouse” high-speed chase on Highway 1 in Nassau County, Florida.

The two men began arguing with each other on the road while driving aggressively and brake checking each other, according to Jacksonville radio station WOKV.

Things got so tense, a witness told Nassau County Sheriff’s deputies that “he knew something bad was going to happen.”

“They were both speeding and driving recklessly northbound in Jacksonville and then into Nassau County on U.S. 1, brake checking and trying to cut each other off,” Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper told Newsweek. “They obviously didn’t like the way the other one was driving so they were both acting like idiots.”

Leeper told Law & Crime that at some point during the encounter, Hale, who was driving a Dodge Ram, drove up alongside Allison’s Nissan and began shouting at him to pull over.

That’s when the front passenger of the Nissan “put her hand out the window and flipped the other vehicle off with her middle finger.” As Allison rolled his window down to shout at Hale, someone from the Dodge Ram threw a plastic water bottle into his car.

“The driver of the Nissan [Allison] then grabbed his Sig Saur 45-caliber automatic handgun and fired one shot at the other truck before driving away at a high rate of speed,” according to Leeper.

The bullet entered the right rear passenger door of Hale’s Dodge Ram and struck his 5-year-old daughter in the leg.

After Hale realized his daughter had been shot, he sped up to the Nissan and using his Glock 9mm semiautomatic handgun began firing at Allison’s car.

Three of Hale’s bullets struck Allison’s car, one hitting his 14-year-old in the back, causing a collapsed lung, according to WOKV.

After the second child was shot, Hale and Allison spotted an NCSO patrol car, pulled over, and argued face-to-face until a deputy broke up the scuffle.

Fire and rescue units took both girls to a local hospital where they were treated with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Allison and Hale were booked into the Nassau County Jail on charges of felony attempted murder. Officers concluded in each of the arrest reports their “act was imminently dangerous and demonstrated a depraved mind without regard for human life.”

Both men are out on bail.

Amador County sheriff candidate fired from office after failing to report tasing incident

A former Amador County Sheriff’s sergeant, who was placed on administrative leave for accidentally tasing a child while on duty, has been fired, according to termination documents. The former sergeant chose not to report the incident to his supervisors because he was “scared” and because of an “upcoming election,” which he is currently a candidate in.

The incident involving Ryan Gillaspie happened on May 2, 2022.

The termination documents, which were sent to KCRA 3 Investigates, state that Gillaspie was on his way home when he stopped at a baseball field where he is a little league coach.

A 12-year-old boy asked Gillaspie about his taser and when he tried to show it to the child, the taser discharged, according to documents.

The report said the boy had a cut, but Gillaspie did not inspect the injury.

The documents go on to say that Gillaspie failed to notify a supervisor or anyone in the department about the accidental discharge.

The sheriff’s office confirmed it did not find out about the incident until later that month when the child’s mother called to report it.

Gillaspie admitted to concealing the event because of the upcoming election.

According to Amador County Sheriff’s Office policy, “all employees shall notify a supervisor of all taser device charges.”

Gillaspie, who was first placed on administrative leave, was effectively terminated on Sept. 8.

Gillaspie is running for Amador County Sheriff and is on the November ballot. He is running against Amador County Sheriff Gary Redman.

KCRA 3 Investigates reached out to Gillaspie for comment. During a phone conversation with KCRA, Gillaspie did confirm he was fired from the department but said he cannot comment because he is appealing the department’s decision and he’s also in the process of civil litigation.

We also reached out to Sheriff Redman for comment. Due to policy, Redman said he cannot comment.

6 days after getting out of prison for punching a woman and kicking a Chicago cop in the groin, he allegedly punched another woman and kicked another Chicago cop in the groin

Six days after getting out of prison for punching a woman in the face during a robbery attempt downtown — and kicking a Chicago cop in the groin — James Killingsworth on Tuesday allegedly punched a woman in the face on the CTA and kicked another Chicago cop in the groin. But the Illinois Department of Corrections is not revoking his parole.

You may remember Killingsworth from two stories we published about him a couple of years ago.

Chicago police arrested him a few days before Christmas 2020 after he stole a woman’s phone from her hand as she walked in the 1000 block of North State. A witness tripped Killingsworth as he ran from the scene, and a police sergeant who happened to be in the area took him into custody.

“When I get out of these handcuffs,” Killingsworth allegedly told an officer at the scene, “I’m going to beat your b*tch ass.”

Killingsworth then kicked the cop in the groin, prosecutors said.

Investigators later linked Killingsworth to another attack that occurred in Streeterville two days earlier.

In that case, a woman was walking in the 400 block of East Ontario when Killingsworth ran up, punched her in the face, and tried to take her phone around 3:15 p.m. on December 17, 2020.

Last month, a judge sentenced Killingsworth to four concurrent three-year prison sentences for aggravated battery of a peace officer, theft, attempted robbery, and aggravated battery in a public place.

He arrived at Stateville Correctional Center last Wednesday, October 19. After receiving credits for time spent in jail and the state’s standard 50% sentence reduction, he went home the same day, according to IDOC records.

Six days later, on October 25, Killingsworth punched a woman in the face at the 87th Street CTA station, prosecutors said. The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment but did not have visible injuries.

Killingsworth threatened to beat up Chicago police officers who took him to the station and then kicked one of them in the groin, prosecutors alleged.

He is charged with felony aggravated battery of a peace officer and misdemeanor battery.

Judge Maryam Ahmad sighed when the prosecutor told her that IDOC was not lodging a parole hold against Killingsworth. [Emphasis Added]

The judge then ordered him to pay a $12,000 bail deposit to go home on electronic monitoring.
