Boy, 8, turns the tables on deadly cobra and bites back, killing it
David Strege
An 8-year-old boy in India turned the tables on a deadly cobra after getting bitten by it. He bit back and killed the poisonous snake. In what The New Indian Express aptly called “a bizarre incident,” the boy named Deepak was playing in the backyard of his house on Monday when he was bitten.
“The snake got wrapped around my hand and bit me,” Deepak explained to The New Indian Express. “I was in great pain. As the reptile didn’t budge when I tried to shake it off, I bit it hard twice. It all happened in a flash.”
The boy was rushed to a health care center.
“He was quickly administered anti-snake venom and kept under observation for the entire day, and discharged,” Dr. Jems Minj told the Express.

‘I will shoot you’: Police release body cam of officer shooting man in Fairfield Township
Quinlan Bentley, Cincinnati Enquirer
A man accused of charging at Fairfield Township police officers with a knife and a hammer Wednesday is facing criminal charges, though he has yet to be released from the hospital after he was shot by an officer, police said.Brian Hubbard, 29, is charged with two counts of felonious assault, Fairfield Township Police Chief Robert Chabali said during a press conference Friday.
Hubbard was shot multiple times in the chest and was taken to UC West Chester Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition Wednesday night. Chabali said Hubbard is still alive though his condition could change at any time.
Police also released the body and dashboard camera footage of the shooting, which happened in the 5500 block of Liberty Fairfield Road at Camargo Trailer Park.
Props to Mr. Hubbard for the effort, but adding a hammer won’t affect the outcome of the gunfight. Thanks for the link, Gun bunny.

Haha, ah shucks:
“Hubbard is still alive though his condition could change at any time.”
King Cobra found out he wasn’t the King of that battle.
When Officer Friendly tells you he will shoot you…believe him. Dumbass couldn’t claw or cut his way out his jam.
No future for this generation now. All part of the plan, Comrades.
“Bring up the 12 pounders…” THE piece that solidified Artillery as THE King of Battle. “Grab Old Nap and that Parrot gun, boys, and follow me!” Major John “The Gallant Young” Pelham, Fredericksburg, VA Dec 1862. He held back 2 divisions for several hours, mainly with Old Nap, after the Parrot was taken out. A Hero of mine since I was a lad. Bobby Lee and Jeb Stuart both wept when Major Pelham was mortally wounded @ Kelly’s Ford in ’63.
Thanks to and proof from our Beloved AW1Ed that he lubs his Gun Bunny and wants him to be happy. I have that same model, as pictured, with the caisson, displayed. Will be giving a history lesson, using an original, this evening. Linky to Pelham below;

Hey GunBunny … is this phrase used in the US Army artillery? I knew someone in the Royal Artillery and he used to say:
“Pull your finger out!”
… and that it was an arty term.

Not ringing a bell to me, RLTW. Could have it’s roots in breech loaders. If the loader didn’t get his fingers/hand out of the breech after placing the round and the gunner wasn’t paying attention when he slammed that breech closed, the loader may become known as “Stubby”.
Here’s a fun bit of trivia (that you already know if you a fan of a certain Las Vegas reality show or gun blogger The Donovan): cannons manufactured before a certain date are legal for individuals to own.* The date is, as I recall, circa 1890. Note well, please, that it is the manufactured date, not the invented date, so even a faithful reproduction would not be allowed.
*Your mileage may vary. I am not lawyer, and have never played one on TV. Viz., federal legal may not include local legal; beats me.
