SEAL Training Priorities

| August 25, 2022

Apologies, that was misleading by implying the priorities are those of US Navy SEALs. One would assume those priorities would place honing Tier One Operator skills to their peak warfighting effectiveness very high. One would be wrong.

Poetrooper sends.

Navy SEALs spend more time on diversity training than warfighting, SEAL vets say

LIZ GEORGE

Multiple former U.S. Navy SEALs confirmed Donald Trump Jr.’s claim last week that members of the elite force are spending more time on diversity training than they are shooting under Commander-in-Chief Joe Biden’s presidency.

“I have friends on SEAL teams that told me they spend more time now in diversity training than they do shooting,” Trump Jr. said at a Florida State House campaign event on Aug. 19.

Trump Jr. was attacked over the comments, prompting Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill — who is known for killing Al Qaeda terrorist leader Osama bin Laden — to corroborate Trump Jr.’s claims.

“He’s telling the truth. I’ve had this discussion with Donald Trump Jr and so have other SEALs. Retention is an issue and so is recruitment,” O’Neill tweeted. “This is more than a political talking point. It’s happening and it’s not good.”

American Military News

Say what you may about Mr. O’Neill, he’s quite correct. Several sources point to fewer people being eligible for various reasons, and this is indeed a factor. Unasked is how many are turned away because of the debacle in Afghanistan, a hollow military, and draconian and useless policies all with Austin and Milley remaining unaccountable.

Recent recruiting efforts have, shall we say, missed the mark.

Ummm, yeah. The article is a microcosm of the entire military. There will be little change until post-2024, and it’s all self-inflicted. Thanks, Poe.

What’s that saying?

Hard times strong strong men.
Strong men create good times.
Good times create weak men.
Weak men create hard times.

With way that the current administration is intentionally destroying the US Armed Forces, along with America itself, Hack Stone doubts that strong men will be able to clean up the mess.

Austin and Milley are not worried, any shortfalls in non-specific gender power (the term “manpower” has been deemed offensive) will be made up by the patriotic transgender Americans that are eager to serve as the tip of the spear to defend America.

Hack Stone ran out of shaving cream the other day, looked under the sink cabinet and found a can of Gillette Shaving Cream. It must have been there several years. Hack gave up on that company when they declared their war on “toxic masculinity”, but Hack saved one Gillette Razor blade in the event that he has to shave his genitals.

LC

How dare you bring that sexism in here?

Hard times create strong {men, or women, or transgenders, or non-binary, or some new term},
Strong {men, or women, or transgenders, or non-binary, or some new term} create good times,
Good times create weak {men, or women, or transgenders, or non-binary, or some new term},
Weak {men, or women, or transgenders, or non-binary, or some new term} create hard times.

Granted, yours does roll of the tongue a wee bit easier.

The “leaders” at The Pentagon have them practicing close order drill for next year’s Gay Pride Parade.

i wonder if their training classes go something like this.

Roh-Dog

Daym! Now THAT was hilarious.

Let’s hope that’s how it goes. When the Division SHARP NCO came down to our Battalion after ‘an incident’ we may have gotten in trouble for sitting in each others’ laps, petting each other and kissing.

I was never good at gay chicken but when so compelled…

Infuntreeworld, different rules.

Edit: How tf is ‘spearchucker’ offensive? Sounds pretty badass. Can we have a Racial [Slur] Draft like Chappelle Show?

I’d trade for it!!!!

Ol” Poe was really surprised to hear the term Zipperhead for Vietnamese. Young Poe first heard it used within hours of arriving in country in December 1965, then countless times daily throughout his tour, usually shortened to Zips, or most often, fuckin’ Zips. Maybe heard it a half-dozen times in the 50+ years since he ETS’d.

Never did hear for sure where the term originated though it was rumored to have its roots in a really bad Saigon rock band called Zipper and the Heads, a provenance which is likely apocryphal. GI’s can be incredibly creative when it comes to their use of the language. 🤔

It came from the term “zipper-eyed gooks,” which I think was coined during the Korean War. We mostly referred to them as “little people.” Anyway, on the radio.

Bill R.

Gook is a Korean word meaning person. For example, hangook means Korean person and megook means American person.

rgr1480

Kinda-sorta. 国 “Guk” means country. 美国 Miguk [beautiful country] is America, Hanguk
韓国 is Korea.

The story I heard while at Tonduchon is that during the Korean War some GIs were driving along and the kids would point and say “Americans!!” Well, they said that in Korean: “miguk”. The GIs thought they were saying “Me gook” so the GIs said “okay, you are gooks.”

At least that’s the way I heard it.

Workplace sensitivity training part 2:

I was wondering why there were always so many lesbians in the Army. The video really lays it out.

The Marine Corps: We’re Looking For a Few Good Men

The Army: We Are Looking For A Few Gender Confused Individuals

Unfortunately, with the PC Woke crowd dismantling a once great military, all of the military has now gone full blown Woke.

If you have have your DD-214, give it a hug tonight.

Sparks

This is why we can’t have nice things. Because the top of the crop is being brain-numbed into oblivion, instead of doing top-tier stuff. Word gets out and I am sure it did before this happened. When it did, those in the Navy who were thinking of applying, and already under loads of this crap, said no thanks. I think the same goes for other branched and tier one and tier two operators.

The potential foes of America laugh.

They see the American military, once the most strongest and feared military on the planet, destroy itself.

The next peer war, entire American brigades will run or surrender having never really trained and having worthless diversity leadership

Even American SOF will fail. One or two weak diversity or gender “operators” destroys a team. With lower physical standards and teammates scared to death for using a wrong word, missions will never be successful.

When the enemy comes, he will care not of wit on how sensitive or diverse you are or wonder about your pronouns.

Your American high tech weapons will have long ago been used up or fail in 24/7 combat. Now, it comes down to the strongest and most brutal.

Who is gonna hold the trench with 155mm and flamethrower ordnance firing on you with well trained and well led MEN coming to slit your throat.

Your rainbow flags won’t protect you.

I cannot count the number of officers and SNCOs I knew in Iraq who believed their sole purpose was to “bring all my men home in one piece.” No interest in forwarding the collective effort, just do my time and get those eval bullets and end-of-tour bronze star.

The second, thankfully much smaller, subset were more than willing to sell their men’s lives cheap if given the chance to be noticed. Also thankfully, few found themselves in a position to do so.

Sadly, the smallest contingent of leaders were the ones who genuinely put the mission first – rather than some catchphrase to hide either ego or cowardice. These, also sadly, were the most hamstrung and frustrated; it was exceedingly rare for such a mindset to run through the next link in the chain of command.

I’m jaded, and it’s not a view that’s fair to all the great joes still trying to do right by their service… but all the potential in the world is wasted if not directed by brave and competent leadership.

Prior Service

Six months into a 15-month rotation I moved to be the S3 for a BN CDR who was determined to bring everyone home. I really had to push him to agree that we needed to start doing BN level operations where we could actually generate sufficient mass to achieve things instead of just locking down our CO COPS. Yet I would trade everything we achieved to get back our casualties because I care far more for our Soldiers than any Iraqis: it’s sure hard to fight a war if you are risk-averse.

Hate_me

Gifted with the hindsight of a decade+, knowing what little was accomplished… I fully agree that it wasn’t worth the effort or the cost.

On the ground or in the TOC at the time, however, there should have been no acceptable excuse for anything but results. We lost that war.

We didn’t lose tactically (there are things we could have done better), nor did you or I or any individual soldier, but as a military and as a nation; we never committed to actually winning it – we were too afraid to get bloody… so we got bloodied anyway, with nothing to show for it.

We can Monday-morning quarterback. We can blame Curveball, Bush, Clinton, Saddam, Sadr… the list of causes and mistakes beyond anything we did on the ground goes on and on and on…

What happened, happened. Too many leaders on the ground were too scared to make it worth the lives we’d spent, much too soon. You did your duty, Sir. Many didn’t. Posterity be damned.

Risk-aversion is the biggest obstacle of our time.

For the Brandon Administration, SEAL stands for System Ensuring America’s Liquidation. Of course, this is just the continuation of the policies of President Osama.

P.S.
Fuck Joe Biden
He is totally unfit.
He’s turning the Armed Forces
Into a weak, woke pile of shit.

LC

Hey, if you kill a terrorist from Africa, another from Asia, another from Europe and another from South America, that’s pretty fuckin’ diverse! That counts, right?

On a serious note, I highly doubt it’s literally true, but I’ll ask a Teams guy I know. Yes, they’re spending more time than they should on this nonsense, but they’re surely still getting more time on range and in live-fire training exercises than in diversity shit.

5JC

I wouldn’t be too sure.

I mentioned that Army “recruiting” ad some weeks ago. I believe my comment was that the ad spent it’s entire time telling us how the Army had basically reenforced dear Emma’s life goals, made her more sure of her commitments to her two moms, made her more sure she was probably a lesbian (at least in spirit), and that toxic masculinity was alright with her, as long as it made her more “butch”. But not ONCE was there a mention of her learning how to fuck shit up and kill the enemy. The U.S. Army, it would seem, has been turned into a finishing school for young women, and those who identify as women (or half women, or pan women, or pan pandas, or fluid neutral soylent green plant based meat puppets).
GOD how I miss the days of “GIT UP GIT UP GIT UP YOU SCUMMY PIGS! OUT THAT HATCH NOW! YOU GONNA BE PLOWIN’ THE DECK WITH YOR DICKS TODAY LADIES!!!”

[sniff] brings a….a tear to these old eyes….[sob] 😭

When Max Thurman was in charge of Recruiting Command in the late 70’s he pushed advertising copywriter Earl Carter for something amazing. Many months were spent trying to create the perfect recruitment commercial. The ultra-intense General Thurman would often yell ‘No! Not good enough! We need to do better!’. This went on for a while. Carter finally produced the ‘ Be All You Can Be’ commercial, and sent it to GEN Thurman for review in late ’79. Needless to say, that was a grand slam. Many consider this the most successful military recruitment commercial ever.

MustangCryppie

My favorite is still the Navy ad:

“Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of All Who Threaten Them!”

FuzeVT

Fuck my life. I hadn’t actually watched that whole Emma commercial. It was 1:55 seconds (out of 2:20) into that Woke life lesson that the Army was even mentioned . . . in the Army commercial. The CCP must be having a well deserved laugh. Tic Tok has fulfilled its mission better than ever imagined.

Roh-Dog

Ain’t it grand?

Time for a tax strike?

SFC_K

Comments on the Youtube video were turned off, I wonder why?

Right after giving the last DON Extremism training, I knew it was time to call it a day.

That’s it. This is getting ridiculous. I’m done.

Retirement papers were in, and I was out within the year.

Glad I am out.
