Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife
First they came for the Jews, but I did nothing because I’m not a Jew. Then they came for the socialists, but I did nothing because I’m not a socialist. Then they came for the Catholics, but I did nothing because I’m not a Catholic. Finally, they came for me, but by then there was no one left to help me.

Robber videos himself driving stolen Camaro after stealing man’s car at gunpoint, police say
Memphis Police got a good look at an alleged car thief after he took a video of himself driving a stolen Camaro.
Police said a man was approached by two other men at a gas station on Macon Road on July 29. One of those men had a gun, according to police.
The robbers demanded that the man empty his pockets and took his keys and cellphone before driving off in his 2011 white Chevy Camaro, according to police.
Police said that they recovered the Camaro and even found a video that one of the robbers had taken of himself driving the stolen car.
If you recognize this man, investigators with the Memphis Police Department want to hear from you at 901-528-CASH.
Any information that leads to an arrest, in this case, could be worth up to $2,000.

Cop shoots, kills a man outside a Starbucks in Washington
A police officer shot and killed a 37-year-old man outside a Starbucks coffee shop in Olympia, Washington, police said.
According to police agency spokesperson Paul Lower, officers were called to a Starbucks near Sleater Kinney Road Southeast and Martin Way East around 10:30 a.m. Monday for a disorderly conduct report, KING-TV reported.
Lower said the man was allegedly damaging the restroom inside the Starbucks. When officers arrived, police said the man went to the parking lot, pulled out a knife and attacked officers who were trying to arrest him.
One officer shot the man, who died at a hospital, according to police. Officers were treated at the scene for injuries.
Mark Robinson, who was working at Tractor Supply Company across the parking lot from the Starbucks told KING-TV that he saw the man get shot.
“I’m still shaking,” Robinson said more than two hours after the shooting.
Robinson said he saw the man charge at police with something in his raised hand. Robinson said he was too far away to see if it was a knife, but he said he heard officers tell the man to drop a knife.

Thanks for picking up the slackers duties. Using Windows 8.1 is really not a legit “computer difficulty” is it? Squids… go figure.
Windows is a virus with a graphic user interface.
Bill Gates’ revenge.
My sentiments precisely, and have been since Windows first appeared in the petri dish.
I’ve always figured that’s what Apple IOS is.. my wife has infested all of my non-apple devices with I-Tunes.. talk about a damn virus!
I’m geek enough to use a *nix “flavor” OS. (Unix/Linux variety)
Grands are learning to like those as well.
I have to confess, however, that there are a few programs that only run on *ptui* Windows, so I have to keep a Windows region on the ‘puter if I need to use those programs. Unfortunately, the DoD stuff is among those few.
Navy always dropping the ball…whether its at the beach or during a December Gridiron Competition. And the only windows they can use leads into the Ladies Room.
Memphis = Chitcongo of the South.
Suicide by cop?
Nice pointy stabby thingie that is.
First they came for the Flags…then they came for the statues…then they came for the names…

You know my weakness too well, Graybeard. Now if I just had one of your fresh ‘maters to go with this Applewood Smoked Bacon I just fried up…
Tanks!
Sadly, the drought’s done ’em in.
Maybe next year, brother.
If we keep getting rain, I’m gonna plant some turnips. Mrs. GB’s fond of ’em.
Isn’t there a caisson that needs rolling along to somewhere else?
BTW, Dave, good to see you.
Praying all is well with you and all of yours.
All is well, just been “offshore” for a while.
Do I have to say the ‘Bring a knife thing’?
M3 Fighting Knife…
I will admit that the Fairbairn-Sykes is one knife I’d love to add to my EDC. Or the Gerber Mk II.
Dating myself…I think I paid $25 or so for my MkII.
82nd AB Brother lost his on a jump when it came out of the sheath on a jump and, being sharp of course, sliced its lanyard. He saw it spinning away to the earth and never found it.
Randall #1 is much better. Far more sturdy and can be used for many more tasks, yet still is an excellent fighting knife.
(Thanks again, Pop)
As Allen Funt used to say, “Smile your on Candid Camera”
What gets to me on the second story is the “witness” (witless).
He was across the parking lot, saw the perp get shot, yet two hours after, he’s “still shaking”. WTF!?
Granted, not everyone in the world has had military, hunting, or other shooting training, experience, or exposure. But still…..two hours?
Him and “reporter” Gersh Kuntz-man (AR15 PTSD) would get along well together.
Hey, I got a nice graphic– where’s Lars?
A big thanks to Mason and thebesig for the back-up. A replacement computer is on the way. I can limp along until it arrives.
Dave took time between boats to help a brother out, too. That was much appreciated, but we won’t be taking warm showers together in the wee hours of the morn.
*heh* Heartbreak Ridge is to the Marines as Top Gun is to the Navy.
Drops mic.
Am using Vista on my new/used laptop for Silent Hunter submarine games. Last laptop I got lost the color on the port side of the screen making it DOA. Got the new/used laptop from my local PC repair shop and signed up for yearly tech support since AT&T gave up their tech support in Dec 2021. Cost me 15 bucks a month since 2009 but was worth it.
AW1Ed,
Not sure how to get back in the game.

You just did. Welcome Home.
