Maddow blames “right wing” for Peters
Rachel Maddow, whose show on MSNBC is viewed by fewer people than live in my house, took the time the other day to blame LTC Ralph Peters’s stupid rant on Fox News on Sunday over imprisoned Bowe Berdahl’s video on the entire right. IAVA’s Paul Reickhoff is interviewed and, to his credit, doesn’t engage in the partisan hackery of Maddow;

Maddow takes the time to quote Michelle Malkin and disparages her for describing Peter’s rant as “tough words” – somehow that’s evidence of a broader conspiracy against our troops. Actually, I think Ms. Malkin was showing uncharacteristic restraint.
I wonder where Maddow was when the famous left-wing blogger Markos Moulitsas Zuniga commented on American contractors who were killed in Iraq aqnd their bodies hung from a bridge with his famous “F*** ’em“.
In fact, some of us saw evidence of Maddow having an effect on the nutroots yesterday when a Left wing blogger accused the milblogs of supporting Peters’ statement. The truth is that the milblogs have been mostly silent on it, there is no support for Peters among the milblogs or even the Right blogs.
Maddow, true to her character, makes a mountain out of a mole hill. The left would be wise to do their research before they go off half-cocked.

No comment on this situation until it is resolved seems to be the best policy.
I was planning to do a piece on that asshat lefty bloggers first sentence:
More proof that the right loves war, but hates the troops.
Really? We are at least nominally righties, and all we do is back troops from allegations from the left. When was the last time that blogger went to Walter Reed? When was the last time he took some of those guys drinking? When did he/she take them to a baseball game? Because Blackfive and myself and others just did that this weekend.
Agreed, JAG, I’ve formed a position on the info I’ve been given, but in the off chance it isn’t right, I’m keeping mostly silent.
BTW- Who wants to come over and help me move? Or come over with those cardiac arrest paddles, because I am half loaded now, but doubt I will live through this.
Well, I would come and help you move, but it would be a very long transit for me and I don’t think I could get that much time off of work. Sorry, dude, but I will have a coldie waitin for ya next month!
What’s the point of even covering this if nobody is seeing it but a handful of people in the first place? Don’t give people like Maddow the attention they need as desperately as the rest of us need air.
ECM: As I demonstrated with the blog link, it’s getting wider distribution than her viewership and becoming part of the internet mythology about the Right, and more importantly, the milblogs.
The left, moonbats and Rachel Maddow gives a tinkers damn about the captured soldier? Not.
Until all the facts are known, Maddow and rest have a cup of STFU!
Ok, back on topic for me.
I have said that we need to stay under the radar until this young man is safe. However, I can’t tell people to holster their opinions on my account.
Uncle Jimbo made an observation that he had gotten word that there was a note left that this young man wanted to “go find himself”. Whether that’s the case, or not, it doesn’t change the fact that this man is being held and we need to get him back. After he’s back, there will be plenty of time to get to the bottom of it.
I just pray that no one on our side is injured or killed in the process.
Peters continues to be an a–hole: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_HcwkW5z8k
I don’t blame Fox News or the right wing for the fact that the guy happened to blurt out some crap the first time around. Who knew what he would say? I do blame Fox News and O’Reilly for bringing Peters back on with knowledge that he was going to malign the soldier.
Oh, and a message to Peters if he reads this blog: Shipwreck, the excuse “I said the Taliban should kill a captured U.S. soldier because Air America doesn’t love wounded veterans enough” is really, really stupid.
This is about as dishonest a post as it gets. As the “left wing blogger” of whom you speak, anyone who can read — and I assume that includes you — will see that nowhere in my post do I blame milbloggers for Peters’ rant. I, like Maddow, put him squarely in the neocon/right wing camp, which is where he is. Some commenters on my post got into a discussion about whether milbloggers were, on the main, right wing. The only milblogger mentioned in my post was BlackFive, who — if you can follow this — OPPOSED Peters. I quote him as such. Read before you link, Mr. (or Mrs.) Hell.
JReid, I was one of the folks who commented yesterday. I only referred to you as a “Left Wing blogger” because I thought the way you started your post indicated that you are indeed, unless I misunderstood the hidden meaning to “More proof that the right loves war, but hates the troops”.
Then you referred to Blackfive as a “rightie”. Am I wrong so far?
You took the theatrical rant of Peters and blamed the whole Right. Am I wrong? What did I misread?
Oh, and you walked right down the line with Maddow’s talking points in the first paragraph.
Maybe if you had begun your post differently, it would have been easier to understand what you were trying to say.
Signed Mr. (or Mrs.) Hell
“The left would be wise to do their research before they go off half-cocked”. Hey JReid, the left has hated the troops for as long as I can remember, I remember the left throwing rocks at the troops at Nixon’s inauguration, and cheering when a troop went down, I remember them spitting on us when we came home. So, get off your high horse, you aren’t as holy and clean as you make your side out to be.
As to Peters, he’s an assclown, and he only proves it again when he opens his mouth. And he’s been called on it, firstly by milblogs.
