Georgia police officer involved in fatal shooting of man at Toccoa hotel, GBI investigating

Lawrence Richard
A police officer was involved in a fatal shooting of a man at a Regency Inn in Toccoa, Georgia, where another person was found killed earlier in the night.

Toccoa is located about 90 miles northeast of Atlanta.

The incident took place on Tuesday night when officers were initially dispatched to the motel after shots were fired at the facility, the Toccoa Police Department said.

Police said the officer found the deceased victim in a room of the facility, where they also discovered a man with a handgun.

FOX 5 Atlanta reported officers instructed the man to drop the weapon, but he refused.

I would try not to read too much into “Drop the gun” from a police officer, and just go ahead and drop it. Just me. Thanks again, Gun Bunny.

Easy peasy conceal with the LCR.
Had one in .22 but not enough bang.
Have one in .357 but load 38 spc for plenty of bang.
Laser grips are nice but the button needs to be built up.
I used liquid electrical tape.

My arthritis loves the trigger on the .357 LCR and for a backup, a Sig 938 has a sweet trigger and recoil for a 9mm lung blowout round.

I’ve got a Smith and Wesson model 637, .38 snubbie. I figure if I can’t take ’em down with 5 shots, I’m not worth saving.

I gotta say, I’m disappointed right now. Four veterans from Vietnam had their medal(s) upgraded to the MoH. But nary a peep from the new admins.

The military museum in Toccoa is quite nice as is the Airborne one at the foot of Currahee of Band of Brothers fame.

A twofer DRT means there’s a little more oxygen available and a little less pollution in the gene pool. Life is good. Cute little hammerheadless pocket rocket. Dress to carry concealed.

Turn your hearts away from the ones that are trying to make Liberty die.

Speaking of cute (and yes, been told I am), sent our Beloved AW1Ed a pic of a drop dead gorgeous Baby Kimber and Baby Pig Sticker. He replied back with “cute” and a pic of a miniature plasticized abomination. *sigh*

Escort duty and a visit with the Chancre Mechanic. See if I can get me warranty card extended another 4 months. Play nice.

That College student shooting to me sounds like a bad shoot. The kid was outside the home and refused to leave then tried to enter the home. Did he get into the home and if not, why didn’t the home owner call the PD????????????????

Sounds like a bad shoot to me, too.

Speaking of strict gun laws not always working. Shinzo Abe, Japan’s longest serving Prime Minister was just assassinated at a campaign event.

The killer’s motivation was that he was “dissatisfied” with Abe. They haven’t gone into more detail than that.
