Clinton “3 AM” ad backfires

| March 1, 2008

Apparently, Clinton’s team has become the gang that couldn’t shoot straight. From Hotline On Call (h/t Blue Crab Boulevard) comes the story of the inevitable questions about Senator Clinton’s supposed qualifications as she implied in the ad I posted in below, during a conference call with the media;

“What foreign policy moment would you point to in Hillary’s career where she’s been tested by crisis?” [Slate’s John Dickerson] said.

Silence on the call. You could’ve knit a sweater in the time it took the usually verbose team of Mark Penn, Howard Wolfson and Lee Feinstein, Clinton’s national security director, to find a cogent answer. And what they came up with was weak — that she’s been endorsed by many high ranking members of the uniformed military.

Hell, I could get some endorsements from some high ranking members of the uniformed military, but the tag team Clinton boobs also include her participation on Senate committees while they “um’d and ah’d” their way through the answer. They also tout the endorsement of “Little Mac” Wesley Clark, Charlie Foxtrot himself.

I’ll bet the Great Chicago Hope has more endorsements. Since when do endorsements make a person an expert on anything?

Go listen to the recording – it’s worth a couple of giggles.
