Man police shot in South Jersey parking lot fired gun inside store minutes earlier

ABSECON – A local man who police shot outside a Dollar General store here on Tuesday morning reportedly fired a weapon inside that store minutes earlier, according to a preliminary investigation.The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office in a statement on Wednesday identified the defendant as 37-year-old Jalial Whitted.
A criminal complaint and affidavit filed in the case states that Whitted “began telling police, ‘Shoot me,'” before reaching for a pistol in his front pocket. He then was shot multiple times by officers, county Detective William Hess states in the affidavit.

Suspect shot multiple times by officer in SW Houston, police say
The shooting happened Wednesday morning in the 4500 block of Warm Springs Road.
HOUSTON — A suspect was shot multiple times by a Houston Police officer, according to the department.
The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. in a home at 4526 Warm Springs Road in southwest Houston.
Officers say they were responding to a potential suicide call. As police waited for backup, the man’s wife showed up to the house.
While the couple was speaking, police say they heard multiple gunshots come from inside the house.
The garage door then opened as backup arrived, when more shots were fired by the suspect. Police did not say who the suspect was firing at. One officer returned fire, hitting the suspect multiple times.
The suspect was taken to the hospital and is stable.
