another factor no one seems to talk about is this–44% of all baby formula is imported from China and with Shanghai shut down for the past 3 months, zero has been shipped since about Feb.
that said, the shortage has been known since Feb, and it actually goes back into the Oct/Nov 21 time frame.
this whole deal was a slow burn that has flared up now, but has existed for a while.

I’ve been stocking everything I can think of (except eggplant) and my 5.0CF freezer is full. So is the fridge freezer. The 5CF has long since paid for itself in keeping food in the house. Am I going overboard when I’m thinking about getting another 5.0CF freezer. Space is limited, that’s all.

I have 36 eggplants started to keep the Mother-in-law happy. Harvest roughly 100 hardneck garlic next month and will replace them with the eggplants. Bok Choi, butternut squash, tomatoes, carrots and 2 types of sweet potatoes already planted. 😜

Get the other baby freezer if you have room for it and pack it full. That spike in meat supply with the culling of the herds is here now. 91/9% grd beef was $3.99 lb and bacon was the same. Limited quantities and my meat market man said the price will be twice that very soon and a more limited supply. Was not able to put a garden in this year, so I’m buying up canned goods, rice, beans, egg noodles, salt, pepper, sugar, flour, and cornmeal in bug proof secure storage bins. Ordered a coupla cases of canned meats from a place in Ohio. Good quality, reasonable price, reputable business. The “Prepper” Food places are shipping their inventory to Wally World and Amazon and it’s going off the shelves fast. Few direct to consumer sales now. My meds will run out before the food does. Fair supply of ammo, for a 1 man Army.

Saw story on Fox News that the WH has authorized the Defense Production Act aka Warp Speed for baby formula. I guess hungry babies involve lots of angry democrat & independent parents also. Reportedly it will still take several months to get to maximum production capacity. Probably shortages & strict rationing through the summer at least.
To top this shit off, there are others predicting the price of a gallon of gasoline to go over $6 by the end of this summer. I wonder what Major Moonbat would say now?
