Police: Man fatally shot by officers in the Bronx after firing airsoft gun at detective
NEW YORK — Police say officers fatally shot a man in the Bronx on Friday after he fired an airsoft gun at a detective.
It happened just after 7 p.m. at Hunts Point and Seneca avenues in Hunts Point.
According to police, plainclothes NYPD narcotics detectives were in the area for an unrelated investigation when one detective overheard a dispute in which a man said he was going to his car to get a gun.
A description of that man was then given to other detectives at the scene.
Police say a man matching that description was then seen getting out of a black Ford pickup truck at the corner of Hunts Point and Seneca with a gun in his hand.
According to police, the man walked onto the sidewalk where a detective was walking towards him.

Police are investigating an officer-involved incident overnight in Dorchester that left one dead and two officers hospitalized, officials said.Just after 2:30 a.m. police responded to the area of Hancock Street and Glendale Street for reports of a person screaming and upon arrival officers saw a man, police say is 48-years-old, holding a knife, according to Police Chief Gregory Long.
Long said the man stabbed the officer in the upper torso and a second responding officer fired and shot at the armed man. The suspect was pronounced dead on the scene.

Airsoft gun in a gunfight with the Po-Po. Sounds like something Jeremy DeWitte [Metro State] would do.
I read the MSN report. The first DRT shot the officer with something quite different than the airsoft gun that shoots little white plastic BB’s. The Byrna HD gun was designed to shoot pepper balls. But chemical balls are illegal in New Yawk and Commiefornia, so the company sells hard plastic balls which look to be about .40 to .45 inches in diameter. They leave the barrel at over 300 fps. The guns do look like a real semi-auto pistol, although one can buy one in orange. They are the perfect tool for a suicide by cop.
I had a replica “Wanted Dead or Alive” sawed off lever gun
that loaded white plastic replica ammo thru the side gate
and worked them thru the action.
Took out many a bad guy with that “mares leg”.
I dig the chick in the pic real quick.
