Former Alabama corrections officer Vicky White dead, murder suspect she’s accused of helping in custody
White, 56, was captured Monday after more than a week on the run with accused murderer Casey White, 38, with whom she had a “special relationship” for years, according to officials.

Vicky White, the former Alabama corrections officer accused of helping inmate Casey White escape and leading police on a manhunt for days, has died, according to the Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office in Indiana.Vicky White and Casey White were captured after a car chase in Evansville, Indiana on Monday afternoon, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff Dave Wedding said.
After a car wreck that ended the chase, Vicky White turned the gun on herself, Wedding said.
Both Vicky and Casey White were taken to the hospital, but Wedding said Vicky White was in “in pretty serious shape” at the time.

An Atlanta police officer shot a man who had fired a gun at a group of children waiting to board a school bus Monday morning, police said.Officers were responding to a domestic situation in the area around 7:20 a.m. regarding a suspect who was armed with both a knife and a handgun, Deputy Chief Charles Hampton, Jr. told reporters.
While driving around looking for the subject, the officers found him pointing a gun toward a group of children at a bus stop, Hampton said.
Police said the suspect fired a gun at the children before the officers could react. One of the officers got out of the patrol car and shot the man. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition, Hampton said.
Police recovered two firearms and a knife from the subject while taking him into custody.

I keep “seeing” the closing scene from Shawshank Redemption, where the prison warden turns the gun on himself, and the camera pans to the cross stitch on the wall, “For His Judgement Cometh, and That Right Quick”.
She didn’t have a plan beyond put on wig, change cars and hang out at one motel for 10 days? WTF did she think?

They should have headed for Canada or Mexico. They had wigs and plenty of cash. They could have bought multiple cars form used car dealers with cash. There are multiple places where there is no border control. She should have bought fake Driver’s licenses. She had over a year to plan this.
But then she obviously had impaired judgement when it comes to predatory and manipulative men.

They wouldn’t be trying to take the gunz if they weren’t planning to do things that would make us want to shoot them. Control of We, The People, not the gunz is the goal. The gunz are just in the way.
I never knew Vicky White but I arrested Casey several times. I was there on the side of HWY 31 during the standoff that last night when he went on his wild crime spree back in 2015. I was holding him at gunpoint along with about 15 other officers and still think back to what could have been. He had been shooting meth and been awake for the previous five days straight and was completely gone. He got 65 hard years and was still facing charges in Tennessee so I figured he would never get out of prison again.
He was a true dyed in the wool racist and did enough meth to sink an aircraft carrier. Whatever the news stories might say he was much more dangerous than that.
It’s a shame that Vicky threw away her otherwise decent life and an otherwise honorable career on that shitbag. Some people just lose their minds after their spouse dies. I don’t really pity her because she knew better, but I don’t think I will ever understand her either.
Think of the money and resources that could’ve been saved if he had made a furtive movement that night.
At TAH, I’m continually amazed at what a small world it is.
Guy looks quite large and I don’t mean fat.
He was 6’9″ tall and when off meth weighed around 330lbs. Most of the time he was around 290ish. The first time I saw him they sent me as backup and I was confused because there were two other officers already on the scene and normally that is more than enough for one guy. The other two officers (1 female) were 5′ and 5’5″. They looked like midgets next to him. I’m not a small guy and I was impressed. He could have thrown either one of them across the room with one arm.
