Police: Deputy kills man in stolen pickup truck after chase
LABADIEVILLE, La. (AP) — A Louisiana sheriff’s deputy has shot and killed a man who backed a stolen pickup truck toward deputies and into two police cars after a chase, state police said.
Rhett Thibodeaux, 26, of Larose died at a hospital after the shooting Sunday morning about 55 miles (nearly 90 kilometers) west of New Orleans, according to Louisiana State Police.
A police statement said Assumption Parish deputies tried to stop the stolen Ford F-450 while it headed east on Louisiana Highway 398, but the driver kept going
After a brief chase, the truck stopped in the road and deputies stopped behind it. Police said Thibodeaux then put the pickup into reverse and a deputy then shot at the truck.

Fatal shooting outside downtown Tampa restaurant was self defense, prosecutors say

TAMPA — The shooter who killed a man outside a downtown Tampa restaurant on Feb. 27 was acting in self-defense and will not face criminal charges, the Hillsborough State Attorney’s Office has determined.Prosecutors said an argument inside Bello Bar & Kitchen, 903 N Franklin St., extended outside that night, where the eventual shooter was thrown to the ground and attacked by three men: Adrian Diaz, Kevin Zayas and Freddy Santiago Jr.
Prosecutors said the shooter, whose name was not released, pulled his gun and fired multiple shots, with one bullet striking Diaz, 23, in the head and killing him. Zayas and Santiago Jr., whose ages were not available, survived and will face battery charges, prosecutors said.

An F450 is a nice truck to steal, but not the best weapon to take to a gun fight. Frankly, Rhett…I don’t give a damn…that you’re dead.
Looks like the shooter served up just desserts to Mr. Diaz. Butter knives aren’t good weapons to take to a gun fight either. BZ to the DA for not pressing charges.

Ford F-450? That’s one hell’of’a heavy duty truck. Big and bulky to boot, not made for high speed chases.
Talk about bringing a non-gun object to a gun fight.
The two Tampa mutts could also face second degree murder charges inasmuch as one member of their group was killed during the commission of a felonious aggravated assault. STACK THE CHARGES.
